Summary; A talk that's been long overdue.
Log;
[It went without saying that Ted views himself as properly settled in this foreign place. He had his fair share of curses, some weird ones, others even weirder. Especially that one time where Tyr became a little dog that he played with. But, Ted was thankful that even with everything that happened, nothing really changed and that the same small routines that made up those happy times they had shared together remained. Although, he knew he couldn't get away from what he had been trying to suppress ever since his arrival. The warmness of the McDohl household that had always welcomed him with open arms helped in his adjustment. He had promised himself that once settled in properly, he'd talk to Tyr about more important stuff. He should know that whenever he saw him, Ted would furtively take a glance at his right hand.
For now, the small routines kept the atmosphere relaxing. Ted would ease his best friend to this. The night was theirs which made his lips tug up into a relaxing, if not a poignant, smile. Time was something he was so accustomed to. He knew how it worked - he had a lot of it - but time was also the one thing that betrayed him in the end. He never imagined he'd wish for more time; more time spent with the people he came to cherish. And here in this place, he had that luxury he couldn't afford back in their world. It was funny and ironic. He had a lot of time, but it was as if only a short period of that counted in his existence.
Changing for bed was one of the small routines he found quaint yet nice here. Ever since he entered this place, Tyr had been lending him his clothes, but Ted wouldn't have that for long. Soon, he bought those cheap clothes he saw in a nearby store. But right now, he couldn't find those cheap clothes and upon remembering that it probably because they were in the laundry, his smile turned sheepish. Turning around, Tyr might be able to see this.]
Uh, Tyr... can I ask you a favor?

Uh, Tyr... can I ask you a favor?

but now the mirror shows the change
At Ted's question, though, Tyr turned to him with a small, casual smile. ]
Always with the favours... [ He was joking, but there was a pang of sadness in his chest. ] What is it?
you're sinking back to the ground
This would be the last! [He wasn't so sure about that, but he can at least try his best.] Do you have an extra pair of those night clothes? I... think mine's still in the wash.
I know things change...
Yeah, I have an extra pair for you. [ He turns to open his door for Ted to walk in. ] Pick out a set for yourself.
your world has slipped away...
Ted gets them and tries his best to conceal what he picked. Tyr might be able to see them when he puts them on, but he can always argue that he had already picked them.] I think these would do. [And he goes back to his side of the room to change.]
but you're living like a soldier caught in the fray
All right. [ And he turned his back to his friend, but didn't bother to unbutton his shirt. He'd just wait for Ted this time. ] You know, I can get you more clothes if you need them. I've never been broke.
seeking shelter from all the madness
His eyes never left his best friend's form, though.] Hey, it's okay. I'm fine with what I have right now. You can just spend your money on better things. [He tries his best to sound enthusiastic.] Besides, all that money? Think of all the food you can buy.
all the madness raining down now
But while Ted is changing, he can at least take off his socks and gloves. It'd be strange if he didn't do anything. He began pulling off one glove and the next to just leave them at his bedside. ]
don't lose your faith...
Wearing the pajama bottom too, he carefully approached Tyr.] Tyr, we need to talk... [Fixing his gaze on the other's right hand, Ted pauses for a while.] ... About the rune.
it's not too cold
All right... What about it?
it's not too late
when you came back, I knew you'd have a story
Since you gave it to me back home, about seven years ago...
you need someone to ease the pain of living life
