Summary; Yuri is mad :(
Log;
It was early evening when Flynn finally returned home, and just as he'd thought, Yuri was out at the beach, venting his frustrations at one of the bigger (or used to be) rocks. With a sigh, he headed straight for the beach then, figuring out that it would probably be better if they met, and spoke about what he just did with Sodia, outside theshotahouse. It wouldn't do to cause more damage to their already-abused home. He had a feeling that Sodia already went to Yuri earlier to apologize, and he doubted that had gone well. Truthfully, he hadn't expected it would.
They had spoken about this days ago, and Yuri had been clear about not pursuing the topic anymore. If anything, it seemed then that Yuri preferred if they just forgot about that incident. Flynn could not abide by that. At the very least, Sodia had to acknowledge, take responsibility, and apologize for what she'd done. If it weren't for some stroke of luck, Yuri could have died... and Flynn could not imagine braving the future without his friend.
Though their paths now could not be more different, with Yuri opting to follow the way the Guilds provided, Flynn believed that Yuri was instrumental in creating a better world for everyone. Yuri, likely, didn't think he was important, but Flynn believed. In many ways, after all, Yuri had already done enough in changing the world...
His steps sunk slightly into the sand as he approached Yuri, and when he was within earshot, he called for his friend.
"Yuri..."
And then he braced for whatever Yuri had in store for him. Fortunately, he was sure the rock had already taken the brunt of it, at least...

"Nice to see you finally showed up, Flynn." His voice was sharp, clipped, and irritated. He tossed his sword aside. Now that his real target had arrived, swords had no place. Swords were for protecting not for settling arguments. "I had a few questions I wanted to ask you, actually. Hope you're not too busy or anything."
Without waiting for an answer, Yuri marched toward him, fisting the front of his collar and tugging Flynn close. "Mind explaining what the hell you were thinking sending her my way? This is your business, not mine. As in- your subordinate to keep in line. You're not the type to avoid responsibility, so what is it?"
It wasn't seeing Sodia that pissed him off so much. He could have dealt with the stupid apology and left it at that (though he could have done without the bowing and the kneeling and all the formalities that he hated about the Knights). But having had to deal punishment? Ridiculous.

And maybe, Flynn would admit to himself, he had let himself be selfish with that decision. What he told Sodia was correct; he could not punish her by the laws of the Empire. He could not exact punishment on the behalf of his best friend, either. The best he could do was leave it up to Yuri, even though he knew Yuri would not punish Sodia.
In many ways, Flynn believed Yuri was the better person, though Yuri's choice to follow the path that vilified him made that fact difficult to see for most people.
"I cannot punish her by the laws of the Empire. Her crimes were against you, Yuri," Flynn said quietly.

"And just what are you expecting me to do?" His eyes seem to darken, and he wasn't about to pull his punches. Low blow or not, with Flynn he had no shame in getting his point across his way. "Whip her like you did me?"
It wasn't that he thought he didn't deserve it- he just couldn't understand. At all. What Flynn was expecting. He stared into determined blue eyes, their honesty nearly pissing him off all over again. Still, even Flynn had his secrets. The trick was getting him to admit them somehow.

Unless, of course, they were like Ragou or Cumore. Sodia was far from being like those people; they were the kind that even Flynn could not help but wish ill against.
And Flynn knew he wasn't being entirely truthful yet, but, as Yuri knew, he could also be difficult with secrets if he wanted to be.

"So what was the point." There was no point. He didn't understand it. Just for them to work out their problems in their own way? It didn't exactly work out as planned, then.
His hands unfurled, his anger quickly cooling. Though he was still pretty irked with Flynn for orchestrating the situation this way, the confrontation hadn't ended too badly, in the end. And while there wasn't much of a sense of closure, it was over and done with. It was out in the open. It was a burden he didn't have to bear.

"You haven't exactly given her a chance to appreciate your decision to keep her crime from me. I know you-" He was treading dangerously here, knowing that he could very well irritate Yuri instead of getting him to see his side. "--you probably made it seem like it's your way of getting back at her."
He could see it too, though he couldn't exactly envision what words Yuri would have used for it. He'd seen it enough when they were young; Yuri would do something to help someone and claim that it just happened as a result of something he wanted to do. Worse, sometimes he'd actively try to make it come out like he'd wanted to do something bad originally, and it was only by accident that he'd saved someone. It made Flynn strive towards making Yuri's goodness acknowledged somehow.

"And just who asked you to do that?" He shook his head, taking a step back, finally, and threading fingers through his hair in mild frustration. This guy- always the headache (but he didn't doubt that he presented the same problem for Flynn, too). "Anyway- I don't think you changed any minds by pulling that kind of move."
Flynn- the only one who really understood Yuri to the deepest core. He could see Yuri's every action and see the intent behind them. Maybe he didn't always understand, but Yuri knew that, in the end, Flynn trusted Yuri enough to behave in good faith.
Most of the time, anyway.
