Welcome to the Family; closed
When; October 3, after sunset
Rating; Possibly PG-13 for talk of murder and possible swearing
Characters; Vicente Valtieri, prospective Dark Brotherhood members
Summary; Sleep tight, everyone. You might just get a visitor by your bed.
Log;
[It's time. He has his list of names, and he knows where they live. The Family is about to get a little bigger, with him as their acting-Speaker. This really is Lucien's job, but he isn't here. He has even sewn together his own Speaker robe for himself, only without the enchantments.]
[ooc: Those who were interested may post their characters sleeping in bed, where Vicente will wake them and make the offer.]

The pureblood groans softly and rolls over to settle in a better spot. His breathing is slowed, and within moments he's drifted back into dreams...

Vicente slips inside as silent as a ghost, using the shadows to his advantage, until he's standing right beside the man's bed. It's too bad he doesn't project the sheer, creepy chill Lucien does, as that is enough to rouse even the deepest of sleeps.

It's hard to say exactly when he became aware of the other man's presence, or if he felt it from the very beginning. The scent was unfamiliar, but nothing that overtly concerned Rido. After all, there was very little if anything that he had to fear in the City. Fear was something he caused, not felt.
Shifting in the blankets, he turns his head and allows his mismatched eyes to open into slivers of color.

"It was not easy finding you, you know,"

"Coming into my home... without permission. What reason do you have...?"

"What does a thing like you have to offer me?
no subject
"The chance to become one of the Night Mother's childrn and be part of a family. Safe haven and those who share your talents will be given to you."
Previous post 'live' should have a strike through >.>
"I've never heard of your Night Mother. Is she new?"
no subject
"Previous family can matter not. We are a family of murderers, and to join, you must be prepared to kill in their names."
no subject
He smiles, cocking his head to one side as he looks the other man over.
"And you want me to join. What brought me to your attention?"
no subject
"Now then," He reaches into his robe and pulls out a folded piece of paper. "This contains information on your first target. Kill this man and you will be one of us. Just do not incriminate yourself."
no subject
"Who is he? What did he do?"
no subject
And now for another tradition in the Brotherhood. "Now, I present you with a gift." He takes out a hunting knife with an intricately carved handle and holds it out to Rido. It is no Blade of Woe, but it will do.
no subject
"You will answer my questions when this thing 'dies'~
I will not be dismissed." His mismatched eyes peer out through the longer lengths of his hair. "Find me when I'm out."no subject
"That I shall. Now, I must be off," With that he turns on his heel and heads for the exit.

"My, my, don't we keep strange bedside company?"

In the blink (or less) of the eye, Luke was very much wide awake, angry, and armed. Handgun he kept stashed under the pillow was cocked and aimed right between the intruder's eyes. Len-Len, still next to him and equally annoyed at being roused from sleep, coiled into striking position.
Recognition of the stranger stayed his trigger finger (free hand moved to rest upon Len-Len's snout, stopping the large python's strike).
"There's no quarrel between us that I'm aware of."

Topside vampires would be agreeable to him if not for their largely toothless natures. Only a small number above had proven to be otherwise. Sadly, they were far and few in between. Current count; Himself, Kuran (who he couldn't stand) and this elder one standing before him.
Lowered the gun, but stayed on the alert. "Go on."
no subject
"I come to offer you a chance to be part of the Dark Brotherhood, and be among fellow murderers."
no subject
Good as it sounds so far, he's not yet sure about joining.
"No 'sisters'? What happens if one decides to leave the group?"
no subject
"There is no leaving," His voice grows stern. "Once you join, you are one of us for life." The Night Mother herself cannot officiate it here, but he'll do it as much as is in his power.

"Now then," His tone becomes businesslike. "In order to become one of us, you must murder this man." He takes out a slip of paper with a name, address and picture. "Make sure he will not be able to turn you in when he revives."
no subject
Took the information. Target in question an unknown to him - good, so much easier to get the job done when they were complete strangers.
"What happens after", tapped on the picture for emphasis, "assignment is completed?"
no subject
"I will then properly welcome you and explain our organization in full." Including the Tenets.

Glanced down at the gun still clutched in his hand, then over at Len-Len sitting quiet but watchful. "Can't guarantee there won't be an 'accident' next time."
no subject
"Now, accept this gift," He pulled out a sheathed hunting knife from his robe. It was something you could find in any old hunting store, but he took care to make unique carvings in the handle, similar to the Blade of Woe traditionally given out to prospective Brotherhood recruits.
no subject
Holds out his free hand, all the while running an experienced eye over said gift. Doesn't quite compare to his specialty blade, but will do nicely for the task at hand. Plus using a different knife greatly lessens the chance of the crime getting traced back to him.

Doesn't see his 'guest' out. Vicente more than likely entered by highly unconventional means (how else could he bypass both a security system and another vampire's awareness?), will probably exit in the same manner.
Luke waits. Once the other man has departed, he'll thoroughly check the house's perimeter, then retire to the sunny living room, and think awhile over a cup of coffee.

He slowly drifted to sleep with exhaustion finally taking its toll.]

The vampire finds the master bedroom and stands beside the pale-haired man, watching him sleep.]
So peaceful.
[If he does not awaken on his own, he shall do it himself.]
no subject
"Was" you mean. You are?
no subject
I am Vicente Valtieri, acting-Speaker for the Dark Brotherhood. And you, my friend, are a murderer.
no subject
[His anger residing and an interest peaking, he lightly laughed as he mused. Retracting his hand for now, he sat up a bit in bed.]
A Dark Brotherhood... [That one wasn't anything new even in this damn City but of course, those had its benefits as well. He could make a few immediate assumptions of what this man may want but why not hear him out first?]
Go on. [He encouraged.]
no subject
I come to offer you a place within our very special Family. You will be among those of similar virtue and talents. All we ask is that you obey our rules and kill in the name of Sithis and the Night Mother.
no subject
And where is the benefit in this for me? I see no point in joining something for simple mingles now.
no subject
no subject
Let's hear a goal, shall we? [He adjusted the glasses on his face.] State the Brotherhood's purpose and what precisely the killings are for.
no subject
We kill for those who do not want blood on their own hands, in exchange for money. The killings also serve to appease Sithis, and many Dark Siblings even take a little pleasure in our work.
no subject
A hitman task. Simple enough. Any other resources I would have access to if I were to agree to this offer?
no subject
The safehouse is outfitted with a training room, barracks, and kitchen, so you may come to practice, sleep, or eat.
no subject
Curious. Where or whom did you hear of me?
no subject
Now, I give you this. [Presents a hunting knife with an intricate handle, just like he gave the other prospective Brothers.] It is a gift from the Dark Brotherhood. May it serve you well.
no subject
[Aion studied the knife that he handed him before giving a dark glance. Old fashion to say the least. He hadn't agreed as of yet but at the same time he couldn't see what harm it could do. One life to possibly open a grand opportunity for dealings. He finally pulled his lips to a smirk.]
Very well then. Where do you want the body?
