ENTRANCE | LOBBY
The entrance hall is sleek, white, pristine and sparkling. The decoration here bright and festive - it's difficult to miss the large pine tree in the entryway, and one of the security personnel will be taking your coats with a bow and smile (perhaps even without a bow and smile, doesn't everyone like the brooding and mysterious type?).

BALLROOM
Up a few flights of stairs or up an equally clean and white elevator is the ballroom, brightly lit and seemingly impossible with its darkened ceiling, twinkling with stars and the gentle fall of snow that disappears as it descends. Long, tasteful garlands of holly and festive greenery sparkle with a frost that isn't cold but melts at the touch. For light, candles float just high enough to be out of reach. Enjoy the panoramic view - the room's surrounded with glass windows. Take a seat and enjoy the music and dancing. Rock and roll and classic piano pieces. Jingle Bell Rock is strictly prohibited.

REFRESHMENTS | BAR
A little off to the side is a fully stocked bar and refreshment area, where waitresses and waiters carry glass trays of various drinks and appetizers. Enjoy a glass of champagne or plate of tiny finger sandwiches. Oddly, there are also donuts. Glazed.

VIP ACCESS
Only those who have purchased the superfly tricked-out cool people package are allowed in this quieter, exclusive bar.

POWDER ROOM
Even people in fancy dresses and expensive suits need to take a break, personal or otherwise. Down the hallway and to the right, you'll find the rest rooms. Don't worry, JARVIS won't be watching.

PLAZA
For those who wish to enjoy the crisp winter night air, the ballroom leads right out to the plaza. No, the palm trees may not be the most traditional, but the layers of decorative snow and pinpricks of light hidden in the large leaves are romantic enough, certainly. A glorious view of the City skyline, the night sky, and at the end of the night, the bright fireworks display.

FIREWORKS
At midnight, enjoy the bright shower of color and light as the Weasley twins orchestrate the final show, spelling words and manipulating trajectories in a way normal snap-crackle-pop fireworks cannot. Whether inside in the ballroom or outside on the plaza, it's impossible to miss. Santa Clause has been forbidden to make an appearance.

OTHER
Various hallways, the staircase, the elevators, and any other location are open for attendants to explore. Workshops and laboratories have been closed off for the event, but an empty room or three may have been forgotten for those who'd like a more private setting. JARVIS has his eye on you.

OOC
Feel free to be completely imaginative in setup, setting, surroundings, furniture, decoration, refreshments served, types of drinks served, music played, and anything else you can think of. Dance, be merry, and don't worry about the specifics. Put up an empty comment or a description of where your character will be and links to what he/she will be wearing or option C (the all-encompassing miscellaneous option). OPENING SPEECH

Good evening everyone.

[Tony, dressed rather conservatively for once (http://www.poyahoho.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Tom-Ford-Tuxedo-2011.jpg), spreads his arms wide in greeting as the windows of the building momentarily become screens, showcasing Tony's speech for all to see no matter which floor they're on.]

I thank you all for coming - though, really, who could resist? Clearly you couldn't, and I don't really blame you - and kudos for being on time. Hell, I'm on time, but I suspect it's only because I happen to live here.

Anyway- that's not very professional of me, is it? [A teasing grin. Nah- even in a professional context, Tony can crack jokes and be himself without batting an eye.]

The night is ours without a curse in sight, drink and dance and have a damn good time. If you have any questions, ask for JARVIS. Don't worry, he'll find you.

All donations given tonight as well as the ticket proceedings will be given to the Youth Center for funds and whatever else they do - I'm sure they have a brochure somewhere. What's the City without the kids to keep it interesting, am I right? A list of all sponsors, volunteers, and temporary employees may be found the in the lobby for your oohs and ahhs. Give them some credit and some thanks - for without them, well, you don't want to see how my last omelette turned out.

[ Ariadne will be absolutely everywhere tonight, mingling, dancing, harassing certain members of the security staff, and so on. She's even dressed up, a far cry from her usual boots and neckerchiefs. Have at her. ]

[It's not long before George finds her and gives her a quick tap on the shoulder. He looks dapper as hell this evening, too. He also has a sprig of mistletoe in his hand, which he hold over her head. Hey, the curse may not be on, but it's still tradition.]

It takes her a bit to spot him--he really is quite good at lurking, it seems--but once the recognition of the familiar face clicks in her mind, it's right over to say hello.]

[ Rhodey only just arrived, but he's found himself a suit of the non-silver non-flying kind already. Sometimes it pays to be friends with Tony Stark. Only sometimes, though.

He's not doing security work, since that's covered, but he's not not doing it, either. He'll be around, keeping an eye on Tony things and trying to find his footing in this strange new place. ]

[Raymond isn't sure how he feels about this security uniform, bright red bowtie and all, but, well, he can't exactly bring himself to complain about it. Duty before self, after all. Even if that "duty" is one he volunteered for, but really, that just adds another layer to it.

Either way, he'll be spending more of his time keeping an eye out for suspicious activity than partaking in the festivities, or even thinking of partaking in the festivities. It might not be wise to attract his attention, but feel free to try and good luck if you do.]

[Being the resident rock band, Time Bomb of course made an appearance. Stephen spent the pre-gig time hiding near the bathrooms, but after the show he decides to come out and mingle. Very rare for him, he's actually wearing a suit, and not even over a western shirt. He'll be standing around near the refreshments table, helping himself to the free booze.]

[A lady security guard appears, and she wasn't joking when she said she cleaned up well. From her usual state of sleepless ringed eyes and unremarkable garb hanging too large on her frame, she's done just fine. The uniform fits and her makeup is appropriate to the situation, the heels are low enough for practicality, and tall enough to intimidate.

She isn't much of a fan of parties for their own sake, she isn't sociable and she doesn't do well with inane small talk, but she's being paid to stand watch and make sure no one causes any trouble. That she can do, and at least she can't hear that damn clock anymore.

She moves around the areas quietly, disinterested but attentive.]

In fact, there are two of them here somewhere. The chances that she's going to end up running at some point during the night are very, very high. She's got a glass of champagne in hand. [Holy crowds, Batman. Wichita's gotten used to the whole 'these people aren't sick, so there's no need to feel anxious when you're surrounded by them' thing, but right now it seems to be hitting her harder than usual. Her game face is pretty solid though, and it's easy to look comfortable at a party when you're rocking an incredible dress, but underneath it all she's a bundle of nerves, nursing her drink like she actually needs the liquid courage.

Get a grip, Wichita. Or... get another drink.

[ Tessa has been looking forward to this event: It's her first ball, and while she realises that many things are going to be very different from a ball in her own time, it is still a ball. She's bought a new dress (http://www.polyvore.com/tessa_christmas_gala/set?id=41146287) only for this, a little flashier and more modern than she is used to, but still close enough to her usual attire to make her feel comfortable wearing it.

She's arrived together with Tim, but she'll be walking around throughout the evening, admiring dresses (and not blushing at the shorter or more revealing ones, no) and the splendour of the location. ]

[It's almost a bit strange, really, to think that even with all the galas and balls and events she's been to in her time in the City, this may be the first time Rosella has turned up in a black dress (http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv60/Fortunes_Wings/Polychromatic/Dress.png). She's normally much more partial to bright colors, and to designs that better suit her rather storybook tastes, but tonight she's not looking to stand out; if anything, her aim is to blend in, and perhaps a black dress is just the right way to go about that.

[ Eames walks in some measure of late - missing the open speech in its entirity. It has little to do for his sense of dramatics nor even because he took too long getting ready - it's more-so just a simple fact that Eames has never really enjoyed these sorts of get togethers.
