Spring Festival [OPEN TO ALL!]
When; Friday, April 6 2012, afternoon into night
Rating; Various! Warn if you need to on individual threads.
Characters; EVERYONE EVER!
Summary; Spring festival
Log;
Xanadu is buzzing this afternoon with with food stands and booths with games to play and trinkets to sell or win. There are a couple of stages where people play instruments, sing, juggle, and otherwise entertain.
People donated money, time and materials to bring everything together. Some areas are very polished and professional while others have more of a homemade touch, but it blends together nicely and there is a little something for everyone. A little further from the main attractions there is space for relaxing or playing a game of frisbee or catch.
As the evening settles upon the City, paper lanterns light up an outdoor dance floor and a band plays a range of music from romantic to spirited. There are also tables set up for those who would prefer to star or people gaze.
(OOC: As mentioned here please feel free to have your character/business set up a booth or stand or to be performing under the appropriate headings! They can be doing if for money, free, or charity. General Mingle | Booths: Games/Merchandise | Food Stands | Entertainment/Street Performers | Dance)

I know.
[ Eames retorts primly. And he will always look sour after having to pick up dog poop with a baggie and find a trash to put it in, thank you. ]
What are you up to, then?
no subject
People watching.
[ He's not the only one who has that as a hobby. ]
I did some sketches.
no subject
[ That certainly gets Eames' interest. ]
Care to share them?
no subject
[ Out comes her sketchbook. She just hands it over. ]

A lot of times. If it had been more practical, I probably would have just gone to art school.
no subject
It can be plenty practical, [ He admonishes lightly. ] But at least you flourished well with your architecture studies, nonetheless.
no subject
[ Not practical enough for her, either, but that's easier for Eames to argue. ]
Ginny mentioned combining art supplies with magic, once. Color-changing ink, that sort of thing.
no subject
I don't think art needs gimmicks - that's what the television is for, isn't it. Besides, you do well enough on your own.
no subject
It doesn't need it, no. But it could be fun to play with for a little bit. Besides, if she could come up with a way to keep my ink from running out or from drying quicker...

no subject
[ Because people don't just stop drawing. ]

[ How long ago was this? Over twenty years, really, when he was doing it often, it becoming less and less common as time went on. He supposes it's just a lack of enjoyment anymore to be honest but it's been so long since his last true attempt that he doesn't really recall why he stopped. He wouldn't really call the folded up paper in his left breast pocket art, per se, but it's really been his last vector in quite a long while. The subject of its intention being here, he might as well just present it now. His fingers pluck it out of said pocket, closing the sketchbook and handing both it and the paper to her. ]
By the by.
no subject
Hmm?
[ She takes them both, of course, setting the sketchbook on her lap as she unfolds the paper. ]
no subject
[ He gestures toward the image sketched out for her - a circular maze with a small Eiffel Tower in the center. ]
I kept it clean enough to vector.
no subject
You designed one for me?
no subject
[ Pause. ]
I did, yeah.
no subject
[ This is said as she tucks the paper into her sketchbook for safe keeping and shifts closer. It's been five months and though she never would have thought that Eames of all people would be one of the people she's closest with, he is, and he's designed her a tattoo and now she is going to give him a hug. In public. ]
Thank you.
no subject
You're welcome.
no subject
So you're coming with me to get it, right?
no subject
[ The arm that had been around her shoulders rests along the back of the bench. Pancake, jealous of their hug, props his front paws up on the seat of it, between them. ]
no subject
[ Pancake gets some scratches behind his ears before Ariadne shifts forward to haul him up onto her lap. Spoiled dog. ]
no subject
And keep you from getting infection, afterward.
