No date, he's just a mate. [ That she snogs drunkenly, but that doesn't make him her date. ]

Uh-huh, sure... [He does sit down, though, and with another laugh.]

I wouldn't say you need a date. It just isn't often that you see pretty girls without one.

More fun to be had without one. [ Shrugging. She's wholly unashamed of that. ]

No, definitely. [And he still can't quite believe it. Maybe he'll snap out of it by the time he's actually being made out with.]

[Hey, no complaints here. He kisses back at once, letting his arms settle around her — with caution, of course, since he still isn't sure just how far he's permitted to go with her.]
