[Says the kid who's too self-conscious to strip off his shirt at the beach. Pushing off his insecurities onto other people has never gone too terribly wrong for him before, so why not now?

[Mercy hadn't really expected to find a party out here on the beach tonight, but since there were people here, well... why not? She nodded at the guy who seemed to be at the center of it all. She'd seen him around, but didn't really know him.]

Penny went on the walk prepared for studying and eating (notes, textbooks, brownies), but a party definitely wasn't in the cards. She had tried to study initially, really...]

[Penny wanted to go to the beach party, but she knew she should study. Suffering from acute indecision, she decided to do both.

And that's why Penny is at the beach with two textbooks, a handful of review sheets, and a plate of brownies. The brownies are there to coax people into talking to her because that's easier than actually instigating conversation.]

[ Well, hey, he was bored. And it wasn't like Harry was gonna study - yeah, because that would have been a real good use of his time... - so he went to the beach when he heard there'd be a party. Really just a tank-top and jeans - the only concession he's made to it being a beach was to ditch his shoes earlier. It wasn't like he was going to need to run that much, he wasn't planning on doing anything here other than just... chilling out. ]

So his mother said, anyway, especially since he hasn't been doing it at all this week. But he studied before! And he thinks he's good, honestly, and he'll do some last minute studying tomorrow, so he thinks it's perfectly fine to be here.

And he'll just be tripping over a blanket where the edge is sticking out a little too much. Where did that even come from?

Sand in your face is not cool. Had he been shorter he would have fallen only on the blanket. Good thing someone wasn't on that right now, at least.]
