[Says the kid who's too self-conscious to strip off his shirt at the beach. Pushing off his insecurities onto other people has never gone too terribly wrong for him before, so why not now?

Still, it's meant mostly in jest, and he flops onto the sand next to Howl.] So what'd you get??

[Howl kicks some sand in his direction affectionately.]

Vodka. A few beers. My Dad never notices the hard liquor going missing. I reckon he think it's just my mum.

[Hey, watch where that sand's going.] Yeah? Mind tossing some my way?

[But Raaaaaaaay. That means sitting up! He knocks the top off the cooler and tosses him a can.]

[Howl clinks his can with Ray's, and then returns to shuffling through his jeans for rolling papers. Time to light this sucker up.]

[That's more like it. Ray knocks some of that beer back and turns his gaze seaward.]

[Tongue darts out to lick along the rim of the paper as he rolls up.]

Uh-huh, sure... [He does sit down, though, and with another laugh.]

I wouldn't say you need a date. It just isn't often that you see pretty girls without one.
