Ready Or Not, Gonna Make It To The City...
When; May 19th, from sunset to evening and beyond! (Just watch out for midnight, Cinderella...)
Rating; G to PG-13?
Characters; Anyone and everyone...and maybe a few more
Summary; Finals are over, the spring dance is here--finally a way for everyone, student and teacher, to relax! All the planning, preparation, and hard work has paid off. Students of all ages and grades are invited, and their teachers are sure to be there too. The school superintendents (read: the Deities) have done their very best to light up the Square. So whether you're from Westerberg High, Trinity Girls' School, Cutler's, Bikini Bottom Middle, or City U, you must have received your engraved invitation by now. Dress is formal, but the occasion is celebratory. Come one, come all. (And even those who aren't cursed may still come to take in the decorations, the food, the entertainment, and the merriment... or they can take pictures for blackmail when this is over.) So come and spend an evening under the stars...
Log;
[This is an open log for the Fast Times at City High dance event! Tags can be open or directed to another character--just throw a label in the subject line. Feel free to NPC wait staff, refreshments, music, and anything else you might encounter at such a soiree. Have fun!]

Open!
This is largely the last chance she'll get to see her friends and underlings before she takes off back home for the summer, and she intends to enjoy it--preferably in the company of her extremely handsome (and college-age) date--but the people who know her best of all might detect a faint hint of wistfulness in her demeanor, too, if they're looking close enough.
Still, she's here to have a good night, and she's damn well going to, dancing and mingling with her head held high like the queen she is, as though she doesn't have a care in the world.]

He manages to catch her alone, though.]
Hey.

But of course, she's always got time for Steve.]
Hey, are you having fun?
no subject
I'm having a great time, if just a little bit - well, as good a time as I can have at one of these things. You? You're in full force tonight.

[She moves in next to him and leans on him a little bit, familiar, because it's always easier to relax when he's around.]
This is where I'm best, nights like this. You have the football field. [She gestures lightly with one hand.] This is my playing field.

Just like grandmother.
Listen, don't forget to take pictures, all right? You know that mother and father will want them.

[As she speaks, she opens her clutch and retrieves a small silver camera, clicking the power button with her thumb--]
...oh, no, is it out of charge already?
[Oops.]

Open!
Rosella, hey! Your date's really--
[Wait. Something isn't quite right here, and Penny doesn't think it's all because Steve seems off and she's over-analyzing everything. Not that she's not over-analyzing...]
Is everything okay?
Open!
[And she brightens at once, pleased with the sight of her friend; she knew about the dress in advance, of course, but it's one thing to see it under the fluorescent lights and white walls of a dressing room, and quite another under the glitz and dazzle of surroundings like this.]
Look at you, you look great! Are you having fun?
[She knows she won't be able to dodge the subject forever, of course, but she can at least put on a good face until the pleasantries are out of the way.]
Open!
[She lets the evasion slide and focuses on everything that's good about right now.]
I'm having a great time! Wish I could say the same for your brother, though... he seems really uncomfortable in that suit. We danced, though, and my feet're still intact. How about you? Where'd Tall, Dark, and Handsome go?
Open!
[She shakes her head a little, fondly, then makes a glancing survey of the dance floor.]
We went separate ways about fifteen minutes ago--we both saw some friends and we just haven't made it back together yet. Don't let me forget to introduce you!
Open!
I won't let you, don't worry. How's he at dancing?

monkeysuit earlier that afternoon, Rosella looks doubly pleased to see Bucky here and cleaned up well, and immediately reaches for a hug.]And you too, Bucky! I heard you and Steve had quite a time of tracking down a suit for you earlier today.
no subject
[ But he’s still smiling. ] You gonna reserve a dance for me later?
no subject
Hope you don't end up twisting your ankle.
[Because that seriously looks kind of painful.]
no subject
I'm glad you like my shoes, Merlin. Are you having a good night with Charlie?
no subject
They've got a little too much glitter.
[Shrug.]
I guess I am.
