Summary; Finals are over, the spring dance is here--finally a way for everyone, student and teacher, to relax! All the planning, preparation, and hard work has paid off. Students of all ages and grades are invited, and their teachers are sure to be there too. The school superintendents (read: the Deities) have done their very best to light up the Square. So whether you're from Westerberg High, Trinity Girls' School, Cutler's, Bikini Bottom Middle, or City U, you must have received your engraved invitation by now. Dress is formal, but the occasion is celebratory. Come one, come all. (And even those who aren't cursed may still come to take in the decorations, the food, the entertainment, and the merriment... or they can take pictures for blackmail when this is over.) So come and spend an evening under the stars...

[He walks in silence for a minute]

What if she decides she hates me?

[detentions]

She's not gonna hate you, Ella loves you, you're like two world-ruling peas in a pod.

[team_captain]

I think even you would hate me if you thought I lied to you for the past thirteen years.

[detentions]

She's gonna be pissed, but you're not the main culprit in this, and you were trying to look out for her.

[ Bucky keeps walking though, keeps a hold of Steve's hand. ] She'll calm down.

[team_captain]

[He sighs and his hand tightens]

I don't want to leave tomorrow.

[detentions]

It'll be okay, at least you and your sister'll be able to talk it over. [ He doesn't like it, but this thing being okay for Steve is the most important thing. ]

What are you gonna do?

[team_captain]

Take you to a hotel, make out with you until we're both sick of it, and then go home and make sure Rosella is okay.

I have a whole flight tomorrow where she's trapped with me and I won't have you until September.

[detentions]

[ He reaches for the other hand then, to make him stop walking for a minute. ]

Are you sure?

[team_captain]

[Steve turns to look at him]

She's not going to talk to me tonight anyway. Why should I ruin your last night with me?

[detentions]

[ There's nobody around, so Bucky curls his fingers in Steve's hair, tugs him down to press their mouths together. It's not the most sophisticated of kisses though, but he's making up for it in enthusiasm. ]

[team_captain]

[Oh, he enjoys that kiss, and he tugs them together at the waist, holding Bucky closer]

Yes?

[detentions]

C'mon, let's go.

[ He grins, presses in a little. ] You said somethin' about making out.

[team_captain]

[He nods and starts walking again]

I, um, bought condoms, but they're in my bag which was in the limo Rosella took.

[His face turns bright red]

[detentions]

Um.

[ Nudging him in the side with his elbow. ] I may have - we don't have to, but I have stuff. Amy, she keeps like sticking crap in my pockets. We still don't -. I am a-okay for the making out.

[ Then making a noise. ] Okay, shutting up, I am shutting up.

[team_captain]

Oh-

Well.

Uh, I guess you can thank Amy.

[Bright red thank god it's dark]

Crud!

[He ditched Penny.]

We have to go back.

[detentions]

[ Spinning in a circle, and then, hysterical laughter. ]

Okay, we're making a mess of this tonight, let's go.

[team_captain]

I'm sorry but I can't just leave Penny without any explanation at all.

[detentions]

[ Shrugging. ]

Steve, it's okay. [ They are the worst. ]

[team_captain]

I wish I could be selfish for once.

[And just spend unmonitored time with his boyfriend]

[detentions]

Then you wouldn't be you, and that'd be awful.

[ Bucky hates how life keeps getting in the way, but what he says is true, if Steve didn't do this he wouldn't be the guy Bucky knows. ]

[team_captain]

But you wouldn't have to share me.

[detentions]

[ Shifting to press into Steve’s side, a hand lifting to brush against his cheek for the moment. ] Hey, you’re just that kind of guy, okay? You’re a good person and you care, and that’s what I like about you, it’s what I’ve always liked about you.

[team_captain]

[He nods, finally.]

[detentions]

C'mon, let's get you back to your date, one less person to be weirded out tonight.
