Log: Ongoing (Closed)
When; Shortly after Harry Dresden's arrival
Rating; PG13ish?
Characters; Mercy Thompson (
coyote_walking)
Summary; Harry moves into the beach house
Log;
Mercy gestured to the house as it came into view. "So... this is the house. Pretty big as you can see."
She wondered if he'd comment on the dog doors on all the doors or if he'd just assume there was a dog there - or figure they were for her cat, Medea, once he'd seen her.
"It's really way too big for just one person, but it's my home now and I just couldn't stand to leave it." Not to mention how convenient it was to the wooded area up past the beach where she could run as a coyote to her heart's content.
The hot tub was pretty darn nice too.

Interesting. "Well, I clean when I'm stressed," she admitted, "so the house stays pretty clean. Oh, and bake, so if you ever want cookies or brownies, there are usually a ton of them in the freezer."

"Cookies?" If he was a dog his ears would be perked.

"No Burger King as far as I know, but I can keep you in cookies and coke."

He was welcome to follow her, but if he stayed to explore his room she'd back back in less than five minutes.

Besides, maybe she was just trying to save the electronics. "Thanks." He replied warmly, deciding he'd have to get to work on figuring out how to ward a house with so many windows anyway. So while she moved away, he moved toward a window, looking at it thoughtfully. He was going to have to start writing down supplies he'd need. Man he'd give a lot to have Bob around right about now.

But he didn't think that was what he meant. He just.. you know, had to appreciate the gooey yumminess before continuing on. He turned and looked at the big window again. "It'll be a little more complicated to give a good solid protection on the windows, they're a natural weak point but I think I can do something modified like my duster... weave the spell into the glass maybe. And ward each window individually. I'm going to have to get a token for you and for you to give any guests you want to let in so they don't have to worry about wards blowing up in their faces."

She looked at the windows thoughtfully. "Well, I don't have a ton of people coming to visit, but it would probably be good to have those tokens. And maybe some way to take them down if you vanish unexpectedly. It's a big house to always have empty."

He glanced at her thoughtfully. "You do have a touch of magic, perhaps I ca find a release mechanism that will work with your inherent talent."
no subject
Really good shape, actually.
She nodded. "That might work."

"I'm going to have to start writing down supplies." He took another bite of cookie. "Cookies first though." They all had to have their priorities.

"What kind of fighting do you do then?" Murphy was into aikido and she'd learned a lot of different weapons. Which was more useful against the supernatural than you'd think actually. Meant she was good in a pinch with things that were just laying around. And no one expects a little pixie of a woman to open a can of whoopass, especially not someone with power who knows she's mortal. They tend to underestimate all the time.

She shrugged. "Sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do."
