but dogs can look up
When; The afternoon into the evening of January 2nd... spanning sundown >:]
Rating; Rated G for Ghouls. Wait no. Let's say PG-13, maybe even R.
Characters; Anyone. EVERYONE. Get up in here!
Summary; A normal evening at one of the City's bars turns intoShaun of the Dead a ghoul attack.
Log;
[ While many of the City's denizens may have been growing gradually more anxious since the new year struck, a certain ominous paranoia closing in around them, life does not stop or even slow down for nerves. And without any tangible evidence of something amiss, it's easy for those who have been more actively occupied to bury themselves, all but missing the early warning signs of whatever may be closing in.
And so it is that one may find oneself out this evening, in the last hours of dusk before darkness falls over the City, unwinding over an after-work drink or grabbing an easy dinner. Of course, if one were to linger too long... ]
[ Momentarily posting time divided threads, to indicate before and after sundown. Feel free to mingle before dark, or have your characters' ghoulish guests arrive after the sun goes down... ]

before dark;
open, of course :3
So he stops in after he gets off, grabbing a beer and some wings. He's been feeling a little uneasy for the past day or so, but with nothing more than a slight pit of uneasiness in his gut, he doesn't have any real reason to worry. All the more reason to try to relax a bit, really. ]

Wilson hasn't been the only one dealing with a sense of unease - Eames thinks he's been seeing a man pacing around his house more than he likes and has taken to keeping the curtains drawn shut at night for the past day or so. ]
Jimmy, [ he greets lightly, a tease to his rumble, ] How goes?
no subject
Well... [ A little shrug, a slight movement in his shoulders that rolls his head slightly to a side. ] No specific complaints, at the moment.
[ And he sits back, leaving the wings and beer for the moment while he speaks. He's not rude, gosh. ]
How are you doing?
no subject
[ Eames' mouth quirks, pulling a stool out with his foot as he plops down. Signaling the bartender, he gets one of the darker brews for himself, tugging off his gloves to stash in his pocket. ]
I'm well enough. A decent start to the new year, all in all. Have you made any resolutions?
no subject
[ Which is a little funny, considering his resolution... ]
Though, oddly enough, the only resolution I've got is to make the most of what I can, here. Not exactly quantifiable, but I could probably be doing a better job of it.

OPEN YOU SAY?
Regular or spicy?
[He asks about the wings before he takes one.]
ALWAYS FOR YOU
Regular. They've got a better flavor.
[Yeah he knows better than to try to stop you.]
MY HEART IS ALWAYS OPEN FOR YOU
[Which he is taking right now. Chew. Chew.]
Mmm. Wings. Beer. No game on?
[He's looking, really. Because as always these are pieces to a puzzle. It's a symptom. Wing between two fingers he uses it as a wand to point at Wilson.]
Why did you want to be alone?
[...because House was not invited. And it's not a date. So far the signs point to it not being a date.]

[He nods pleasantly, gesturing to the seat beside him.]
I can't complain. Have a drink?

Well, that is what I've been doing, though I can't say I would object to continuing.

He looks surreptitiously around the inside of the establishment, first, but doesn't see anyone so much as glancing in his direction - and then he locks eyes on something beyond the window, on the street. He freezes there, staring, not entirely believing what he thinks he's looking at. ]
open hi breaking time is cool
She ends up ducking into the first drinking establishment that looks moderately well-populated. It's lovely to see Wilson there.]
James, hey! [Wait. He looks like he's seen a ghost.] James?
SMASH.
Penny-- hi. Sorry, I was just...
[ And he looks back toward the window and frowns. ]
I thought I saw someone.

No problem.
[Problem.]
Maybe you did--see someone, I mean. Things have been creepy all day and the dogs wouldn't stop barking.

LET'S FIGHT STUFF or run whatever this is open;
Without knowing what the potential threat is, it's difficult to plan. Exits? Limited to the door, a large window in front, and a smaller window on the side wall. Weapons? None--or none that are ready-made. The likelihood of everyone in the bar panicking and foiling any attempts at action? Very high. Chekov is up and ready to consult Uhura.
Chaos breaks loose when the front window shatters.]
