When; Around last weekend...
Rating; The devil is in here?
Characters; Kira Sakuya and Mudou Setsuna
Summary; Just best friends chatting...
Log;
Katou appearing in the City... Kira felt as if he should have known it would happen. Some part of him probably had known, to be honest, but he still felt strangely caught off-guard, by a friend who he had killed, in a future he didn't know enough about to feel certainty.
All he did know was that Setsuna felt guilty and he also knew that Setsuna's guilt...
Well, it could have very negative effects.
So he entered Setsuna's room - without knocking - and closed the door behind himself.
"How're you doing?"

He already knew who to go to, but it was a matter of wording things, and coming up with a good trade off.
There were other things that had been eating away at him, but, for now, it was easier to put his other emotions on a back burner and just focus on Katou. Kira and Saya centric issues would have to wait, as Katou's situation was far more immediate (not to mention terminal) in comparison to Setsuna's love life complications.
When Kira entered, Setsuna had been on his bed, knees curled under him, and he barely lifted his head at Kira's entrance; not the usual greeting Kira received.
"Hey, Senpai. I'm fine. I'm not the one falling apart," Setsuna replied, listlessly.

There was no way to watch Setsuna twenty-four hours a day, no matter how much he'd like to, so there wasn't really any way to stop him from doing a trade, not without going to measures he wasn't entirely willing to take.
But perhaps he could at least try some damage control, make sure he didn't trade something that would hurt him so much to lose, again. Something that made him more vulnerable.

To Kira's words, Setsuna sighed, and insisted, "I'm fine," before bitterly adding on, "Why don't you just go keep an eye on him." Okay, so maybe not completely fine. The bed offer bothered him more than he liked.
But even Setsuna's selfish, petty problems had to be put aside to think once more about Katou's situation and how to fix it. The whole, 'Why did I feel so upset,' matter would have to be dealt with another time.

"Are you trying to sound like a jealous girlfriend, Setsuna? I put him in my room so he Alexiel won't see him before we can talk to her. What's your problem?"

"But that isn't the issue here," deep breath. He couldn't believe he was going to do this, knowing Kira's likely responses, but the more important thing needed to be said.
It wasn't often Setsuna remembered things, but he looked at Kira and said, "I told you I would tell you before I do stuff like this anymore. So I'm going to trade with the deities for Katou."

What Setsuna told him then wasn't a surprised. Kira shook his head immediately anyway, because naturally this was the last thing he'd want. "Give me a few more days. Hatter can do it."

To Kira's compromise, Setsuna shook his head.
"No. I don't think we have that long," he told him, a slight waver in his voice. He was not going to watch Katou waste die away right in front of him. It was frightening. "You asked me to tell before doing it again, so I am."

Kira shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair, exhaling slowly before catching Setsuna's eyes.
"If he dies here, we can get him back easily. You know this place doesn't execute consequences."

Then he went entirely cold, firm, jaw set and determined.
"I don't care. I'm not going to watch him suffer anymore. He's struggling, and he hates it, and he won't admit it to anyone," Setsuna pointed out, not budging. He was not giving on this one.

"I already talked to him. I didn't explain how it works, but you already can guess how that went. He isn't going to pick the best option for himself," Setsuna said with a huff, then, aggravated by them both, added, "Am I the only one that thinks Katou is worth this?"

Kira shrugged, not bothering to hide that truth.

"And of course you wouldn't think anyone's worth it! But you'd have Hatter trade important things!" The last part was bitter, frustrated, complete with a waving arm as Setsuna got up to walk to his door.
There he turned around to finish it all with, "But I think Katou's worth it. And we agreed next time I'd tell you, so I told you. Now you need to deal with it."
And then he stormed out of, yes, his own room.
