→ don't make me read your mind you should know me better than that
When: Monday 20th May ( Evening )
Rating: PG-13, ( booze and swearing because you know what Bucky Barnes is like. . )
Characters: Bucky Barnes (
yourbestguysgun ) & Ginny Weasley (
hexuality )
Summary: Sometimes bros just have to get their brosis' drunk okay?
Log:
To hell with being sensible and responsible. That's what they talked about last time, how they both grew up too fast and now they deal with things the way people much older do. Bucky hates it in a way that sets his teeth on edge, that made him burn the picture of her brothers with the flame of a match. He meant to come by sooner.
Work caught up with him though and it's only now with the rare evening off that he comes by her office. He's got a bottle wrapped in brown paper and tucked into his leather jacket, two glasses in his pockets because Ginny is a classy lady and he's not gonna make her swig out of it like he would. ( Because Bucky never had class, what would he do with it. ) The shop's closed but not locked so he lets himself in, takes the steps to her office, calling out as he goes.
"You better be in here Weasley, I come bearing gifts."

[ Bucky likes to think that he comes across as aloof. But you only have to be in his inner circle to know he cares a whole lot more than that. ]
Where do you keep your coat?
no subject
[But she sways over to shut off the record player and stands there with her hands on her hips, brows raised and cheeks flushed and eyes bright.]
You don't have to walk me, it'll be fine, 'm fine, can manage home. Going home.
no subject
[ He stands and watches her, a half grin on his lips. ] Wouldn't be a gentleman if I let you go alone.
no subject
[But she's laughing because it's fine, she doesn't care. Then - ]
Let's go swimming in the fountain.
no subject
[ He makes sure everything's turned off in her office before looping an arm around her waist. ] Keys?
no subject
Don't need keys. [Surprisingly, she's got focus when she uses her magic, and the door locks without blowing up instead. The wand gets shoved away and she stumbles cheerfully down the stairs into the main shop and out the doors, which lock themselves once they're shut.] Why're you still sober? Not on, lieutenant.
no subject
Been drinking longer too.
no subject
[Except of course it's true, she's just being cheeky. She leans up on him as they walk and it hits her how much she enjoys the City late at night, the lights and the fountain and the carousel music and the few people milling about.]
'S nice out.
no subject
[ He walks slowly, keeps his arm around her in case she stumbles. ]
no subject
[She looks at him instead of where they're going.]
Grown on me, you know? 'M fond of the people. You lot.
no subject
[ He's joking, Ginny. Promise. ]
no subject
[She prods a finger at his chest, almost tripping over her own feet.]
Bollocks. [Righting herself.] Where're we going?
no subject
[ Ah Ginny, gonna tease you forever. ]
no subject
But who's going to take you home?
[She starts to draw away from the arm around her waist, like she plans on leading him the other way, but instead she just starts running. Because drunk people like to run away from other people? Who knows.]
no subject
He just takes off after her. ] Weasley you crazy dame!
no subject
Diving right into that. Yeah.]
no subject
You're gonna catch your death, kid.
no subject
[She's sitting in it, sopping wet and grinning, and she starts splashing at him.]
C'mon! [She is not nearly as drunk as she appears, she's just tipsy enough to be loose and enthusiastic about EVERYTHING.] Bucky. Buuuuckyyyy.
no subject
No, no way.
no subject
[WADING OVER AND PULLING HIM IN.]
no subject
You crazy dame.
no subject
no subject
What has gotten into you?
no subject
[She sits right there in the water, tipping her head back to look at the sky, the stars that don't match any constellations on earth, the ones that have become as familiar to her as those, anyway.]
M'alright.
no subject
[ He's not a fan of being soaked to his knees - has spent too many months of the war in dug-outs like that. But he can also see the funny side. ]
