→ don't make me read your mind you should know me better than that
When: Monday 20th May ( Evening )
Rating: PG-13, ( booze and swearing because you know what Bucky Barnes is like. . )
Characters: Bucky Barnes (
yourbestguysgun ) & Ginny Weasley (
hexuality )
Summary: Sometimes bros just have to get their brosis' drunk okay?
Log:
To hell with being sensible and responsible. That's what they talked about last time, how they both grew up too fast and now they deal with things the way people much older do. Bucky hates it in a way that sets his teeth on edge, that made him burn the picture of her brothers with the flame of a match. He meant to come by sooner.
Work caught up with him though and it's only now with the rare evening off that he comes by her office. He's got a bottle wrapped in brown paper and tucked into his leather jacket, two glasses in his pockets because Ginny is a classy lady and he's not gonna make her swig out of it like he would. ( Because Bucky never had class, what would he do with it. ) The shop's closed but not locked so he lets himself in, takes the steps to her office, calling out as he goes.
"You better be in here Weasley, I come bearing gifts."

She doesn't expect anyone to come by, of course, so when she hears a voice, she straightens in her chair, startled, hand instinctively going for her wand. But then it registers that it's Bucky and she smiles, picking up her wand in an easier manner and flicking it so the door swings open.]
Bucky Barnes. [Ginny leans back in her chair, amused.] Fancy seeing you here.

[ He produces the bottle from his pocket like he's a magician himself and grins at her. ] Well, you are. I'm off duty. [ Moving to her desk he places the whiskey - good stuff this time, now that he can afford it - down and rests his hands on the wood. ]
Got it?
no subject
Well, since I'm my own boss, I'm sure I won't get in trouble for it. [Another flick of the wand has her door closing and a chair dragging itself over to Bucky.] What's the occasion? My birthday isn't until August.
no subject
[ He's sprawling, comfortable. ] Can't a guy hang out with his favourite witch now?
no subject
[She raises her brows at the glasses he reveals, thinking of making some little comment about conjuring spells but passing over it. She puts down her wand and kicks off her shoes, crossing her legs in the office chair with ease.]
But as if I'd complain about a free drink. You're right.
no subject
Leaning forward to pour two rather more than healthy measures. ] Knew you were a gal after my own heart.
no subject
Any girl's after your heart, Barnes. You're too bloody charming. [But of course she knows he's spoken for. So she just laughs again and takes a healthy sip, breathing out the burn down her throat, breathing in the warmth it leaves in its wake.] Trying to get me pissed?
no subject
[ Or that he's happily not!married to Captain America. ] An' I don't know where you got this impression of me Weasley, but I'm a good guy. Honest.
no subject
[Said around the lip of her glass, mouth pulled into a teasing smirk as she takes another sip.]
Doesn't matter. I'm glad for the distraction. [And as if to prove a point, she pushes the paperwork aside to be dealt with in the morning.] There we are. I'm all yours.

[She glances at the paperwork then exhales, shaking her head.]
I'm not built for this. I'm meant to play Quidditch. But I made promises, you know? [She chuckles, glancing down at her drink.] Friends and family'll get me every time.
no subject
[ Another sip of sharp whiskey. ] Then you can play your ... your thing.
no subject
[She takes a sip and almost laughs into her glass as she corrects,]
Quidditch. Honestly, Bucky, you've been around me long enough. Don't you know what it is?
no subject

[She puts down her glass, leaning across the desk.]
You liked flying well enough when I took you! I mean, you were little, but you were still you.
no subject
[ Crossing his feet over, swilling the last of his drink around in his glass. ] You don't see me pokin' things with sticks now.
no subject
[She laughs, knocking back the last of her drink and sliding the glass across to him.]
I still do, don't I? Just less literal. Poke into other people's business, that sort of thing. [With a pointed smile,] Isn't that what you're doing now? You're checking up on me, aren't you?
no subject
[ Yes, yes he is checking up on her. But he covers that up by leaning over to fill both their glasses. ]
no subject
I'm fine, I promise.
no subject
[ It doesn't mean he won't worry about her though. That's just the way he is. ] Here, drink up.

[She takes another drink and they're moving through this fast and she is tiny buuuut.]
Terrible influence, Bucky Barnes. That's what you are.
no subject
[ He says that word with pride. Of course he's a terrible influence. That's who he likes to be. ] You're friends with me anyway. Reckon you don't care much.
no subject
[Her gaze goes a bit distant as she talks, but then her brows knit briefly as she remembers that Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley was targeted, that they had to close down and go into hiding with the rest of the family for their anti-Voldemort stance and products.]
Yeah. [She takes another sip, shaking it off.] Would explain loads.
