→ don't make me read your mind you should know me better than that
When: Monday 20th May ( Evening )
Rating: PG-13, ( booze and swearing because you know what Bucky Barnes is like. . )
Characters: Bucky Barnes (
yourbestguysgun ) & Ginny Weasley (
hexuality )
Summary: Sometimes bros just have to get their brosis' drunk okay?
Log:
To hell with being sensible and responsible. That's what they talked about last time, how they both grew up too fast and now they deal with things the way people much older do. Bucky hates it in a way that sets his teeth on edge, that made him burn the picture of her brothers with the flame of a match. He meant to come by sooner.
Work caught up with him though and it's only now with the rare evening off that he comes by her office. He's got a bottle wrapped in brown paper and tucked into his leather jacket, two glasses in his pockets because Ginny is a classy lady and he's not gonna make her swig out of it like he would. ( Because Bucky never had class, what would he do with it. ) The shop's closed but not locked so he lets himself in, takes the steps to her office, calling out as he goes.
"You better be in here Weasley, I come bearing gifts."

Mm. I understand that. [Dying doing what you love for who you love. She'd been ready to, expected it, even.] But you came through, didn't you, you and Steve.
no subject
[ He knocks down the rest of his drink easily. Steve survives, he doesn't. But he won't talk about that, not now. Leaning forward he fills his glass again and tops hers up. ]
no subject
Hey, slow down. I'm smaller than you.
no subject
Ain't nobody smaller'n that kid.
no subject
You're just doing this because you've never seen me properly pissed before.
[Because the other times they've shared drinks, someone had been upset and that's a different matter altogether.]
no subject
If I promise nobody's gonna die can we find out?

no subject
[ No, he's not the Winter Soldier yet. ]

[She eyes her set aside glass and picks it up to tip the amber-coloured liquid to the light, lips tugged in an already-hazier smile.]
Especially if we keep going like this. Might just doze off or snog the first stranger I see.
no subject
[ Wicked grin. ] Ain't no better way to say hello.
no subject
[Maybe this is the first time she's said that out loud, calling him just as good as family, but she's loose and pleased and warm.]
Aren't you supposed to lock me in my room or something?
no subject
Hey, no. You're a swell dame. [ Hear New York and the forties take him back the more drunker he gets. ] You don't have'ta be alone. But I reserve full rights to punch any jerks in the face.
no subject
But I don’t have rotten taste in who I fancy. [She nods at him, grinning.] Obviously. So I don’t think you’ll need to punch anyone so much as threaten anyone. For… I don’t know, honour. Or whatever.

[She shrugs, taking another drink and feeling it somewhere in her shoulders, muscles loose and buzzing.]
You're going to threaten any potential boyfriend I get.
no subject
Hey, it worked in my day. [ Unless you were James, actually. ]

[Because it was always the wrong bloke somehow. She takes another sip, watching him.]
Maybe I'm very particular.

[She slouches back in her chair, tipping it back and gaze to the ceiling.]
Just... I don't know, Harry and I never broke things off, he just went home and he came back once and told me I didn't have to wait for him. 'S brilliant, right? But it's still... hard.
no subject
[ If he ever left he'd be dead, he wouldn't be coming back. He hates the idea of someone else touching Steve but could he ask him to be alone forever?
Could he do that? He's not sure. ] You just need to get out there, enjoy yourself.
no subject
I am. Look at me, enjoying myself.
