Characters; It's Ginny's birthday party and everybody Ginny knows was invited. Let's handwave that and just show up. BTW, IT'S BLACK TIE. PUT ON YOUR SUITS, BOYS.
Summary; There's no legal drinking age in the City, but who says we can't party like there was one anyway?

This party was four years coming. The restaurant has set aside a large room just for this event and on short notice too. The food is plentiful and of various cuisines, with even a large selection of vegetarian options for those who prefer that. But of course, there is more alcohol than one has ever seen because Angela knows the people she invited and knows quite a few of them have liquor in their veins instead of blood. Rule of thumb: more liquid than solids every time.

Everything's set and ready for the birthday girl to make her appearance, so for the time being, Angela's flitting around the place dressed in more subdued colors than usual, choosing black because no one gets to stand out more than Ginny tonight, and socializing with the few guests that have shown up already.

Sadly, there are no strippers. Ginny nixed that one hard.

"I can eat and still have leftover pizza, right?"

It's good pizza. He hopes Derek hasn't eaten it.

[affectioning]

"Of course. I will be." It'll be a sandwich or something later. But, it'll be from the champagne.

[studmuffin]

Oh hey, champagne. Maybe he should have some of that.

"This is such a cool party."

[affectioning]

"Right? Angela did it all." It's kind of really cool. "... My mom's here."

[studmuffin]

Twisting to spot her through the crowd.

"Oh wow, is she talking to Jim?"

[affectioning]

"What?" He turns. "No, she's dancing with him." What? What? This doesn't compute fully.

[studmuffin]

"Awh, no."

His Jim boner. He just grabs one of those glasses of champagne and downs it.

[affectioning]

Scott looks away.

"My mom is dancing with Captain Kirk."

[studmuffin]

"Shhh, shhh."

No, he won't be able to have his patented Star Trek fantasy now Scott. You don't understand.

[affectioning]

He takes another glass, gulping it down.

[studmuffin]

He sneaks another glance back and then casually steers Scott away. Away to where he can't watch Captain Kirk dance with his mom.

"So now you're here you should help me practise for lacrosse again. I'm rusty."

[affectioning]

He is so thankful for that!

"Yeah, of course." He smiles. "And I think Clint wants to play, too if we can get a game together tomorrow."

[studmuffin]

"Clint's so cool."

Man he has such a crush on all these superheroes, "I stayed with him a while back. Slept on his couch. He's awesome."

[affectioning]

"He is."

Be jealous. Scott's seen him do a naked lap around his building. "Cool. Yeah I talked to him a few times."

[studmuffin]

God, Scott. God.

"We can totally play lacrosse with him."

[affectioning]

It was truth or dare.

"Yeah. We can. Maybe we can see who else is interested."

[studmuffin]

"Isaac'll probably play with us. But I'm making it a rule that we have to even out the powers. I claim Clint."

[affectioning]

"You claim Clint?" he asks, leaning his head forward. "You can have Clint."

[studmuffin]

Eyeing him.

"I mean obviously you and Isaac will be a team."

[affectioning]

"Why obviously?" he asks. They could be on any teams.

[studmuffin]

"Because you're bros now?"

[affectioning]

"We're bros?" he asks, thinking about that. "What do you mean? It's not any different." It is. He doesn't completely see it. But, there's something there. Isaac does what he asks. And he's moved in. Sure, that's all true.

[studmuffin]

Stiles just pulls a face and shrugs his shoulders, "You guys are friends now. I'm used to the whole reluctant allies thing."

The correlation of their two respective situations is completely lost on him, but.

[affectioning]

"We're not reluctant," he explains. "He's a friend, now. And he's your ally." That hasn't changed, not since he's gotten here. But, they are friends. Does it really bother Stiles that much? "He's our ally."

"But we were."

He remembers the good old days.
