"Why wouldn't I?" he asks, to both questions. But, then his synapses fire on all cylinders and he realizes something. "Stiles." He struggles with wanting to do this with her right then and there. He weighs his options. But, it doesn't feel right, not yet. His arm slowly slides away as he takes a step back.

"I need to tell Stiles. He's like you for as long as I can remember."

[lefthandedgenius]

"Stiles will be okay." says Lydia with certainty. To be honest, she's less than worried about Stiles. "I mean, he wasn't exactly spazzing at me at Ginny's party the way he normally used to, so I'm thinking maybe he's over it."

She's relieved by that, because it means less strife for Scott.

[affectioning]

"Maybe he is but it's always been there. And he's always been there. For me. We've been there for each other. He deserves to hear it from me." It's hard to look away from her. He takes her hand in his, bringing it to his lips, pressing a kiss. "He's going to be happy for us. Really happy."

[lefthandedgenius]

"I know." Lydia is confident of that as she kisses Scott back, and favors him with a hug. Shen oh's excitedly, inspired.

"Let's go get some really good food to bring to the house and sweeten your mom up." she bounces a little on her heels. "But you know, she's not home for a few hours now, right?" A slow grin curves across her face. "So we should go home."

[affectioning]

He takes the kiss, gratefully.

"Yeah. She doesn't get home till seven." It takes a second for what she means to dawn on him. He can't not smile, mischievously. He gives her a longer kiss. "After I tell Stiles."

Lydia kisses him back, and pretty soon they're going to end up kicked out of the shoe shop for pretty much making out in public if they don't get ahold of themselves.

"Don't take too long," she tells him when they're occasionally coming up for air. "I don't like to be kept waiting."

Peak performance. Scott best be bringin' it.

[affectioning]

Every kiss lasts longer, tongues wrestler more, it's a little inconsiderate but Scott's distracted by all the love. It should be weird that the love's come on so suddenly but it's not like Lydia's a stranger. She's Lydia. She's strong. She's amazing. He was just saying all this at Ginny's party.

"I won't. I'll text you when I'm done." Another kiss, this one quick so they aren't lost to their urges again.

Another quick kiss, and the promise of a text, and then Lydia is collecting her horde of shoes before there's one more breathless exchange between them and Scott dashes off to go talk to Stiles.

In the meantime? Clearly this calls for more shopping. Because when Scott gets home, he deserves something special.
