Today is the day of the McCall-Lahey Reunion Tour.

It should feel weird that the day after he rekindles things with Allison temporarily, that he's planned on surprising Isaac. It's no secret that things have been strained between them what with Scott having to hold things back from everyone and generally feeling displaced. He's not used to so much being in flux and, plainly, different than he remembered. But, if there's one thing he's gotten good at, it's adapting.

If only becoming an alpha hadn't screwed with that so much.

He's told himself today isn't about pack, or strained friendships, or uncertainty. Today is a throwback day to the times of the McCall-Lahey union. At one time, Scott felt Isaac was like a brother. They hung out, they talked. He helped Isaac prank the alpha twins. Without knowing it, Isaac not only became his beta, but something deeper. He became a really good friend. It was different than it was with Stiles. Because, Stiles is like a blood brother but Isaac is like an adopted brother who he never wanted to see hurt. And if he did see him hurt, he wanted to do anything he could to make him feel better.

He felt like lately, he wasn't able to.

But, before he and Allison had made what might've been a mistake, she'd given him great advice.

Stop trying to be the alpha and start trying to be their friend that would do anything for them.

That was the gist, anyway. So, when he woke up the next morning, he resolved to do just that. He had to accept that things were how they were. Stiles and Derek were together and Stiles was keeping it from him. His feelings about how crazy that was aside, he knew Stiles was safe and in some ways happy. Allison and Isaac had a connection that he'd perhaps violated or ignored. He feels a little guilty about that and that also might be what fuels his idea this morning.

Maybe. Probably.

At about ten/ten-thirty, Scott slips inside Isaac's room and puts a hand on the covers ontop of him. He shakes him gently.

"Isaac. Wake up." Today's going to be fun. He pushes away the thought, It has to be and simply resolves to let everything else fall away. Today is the McCall-Lahey Reunion Tour.

That was what he was going for. Besides even if Scott was at the top of the list Isaac wouldn't tell him, he had enough of an ego already.

"Uh... sunbathe? Read a book? What adults do?"

[affectioning]

"Did you bring a book?" he asks. Because he brought a beach bag but it didn't have a book. It had a towel and sunscreen. And his wallet/keys because you can't keep those in swim trunks. "You could do with a tan." Hah!

[outofthefreezer]

"Nope..." Isaac didn't exactly read much, unlike Scott he didn't feel like doing pull ups with one hand and reading with the other. "I'm pretty sure I'd look kinda weird with a tan?" Because pale just made sense with Isaac. He'd probably burn. He didn't bring sunscreen either. This could be a disaster.

[affectioning]

Luckily, Scott did!

They make small talk about the clinic and the first week Scott was in the forest. A few funny things Stiles did until they finally get to the beach. Finding a good spot, Scott pulls a towel out of his bag. Using both hands, he sets it onto the sand. He kicks off his flip-flops and drops down, digging into the bag for his sunscreen. He wastes no time in divesting himself of his shirt.

He squeezes some lotion onto his hands and he does his arms. shoulders, and chest.

"Hey, can you do my back?"

[outofthefreezer]

He isn't watching because he's seen Scott topless before and this was totally the same as the locker room and it definitely was nothing to get worked up over. He just nods, taking the bottle from Scott. "Sure..."

He squeezes the lotion onto his hands and sets about rubbing it into Scott's back in a fashion that moves incredibly fast, almost as if he's worried about touching Scott for too long. Especially considering the things he'd realized last night when talking to Allison.

[affectioning]

"And my lower back?" he asks, oblivious to his thought process. Because, he seems to be doing it quickly but not thoroughly. He can't reach back there! "Thanks," he adds, to help motivate him. Because, Scott McCall is a grateful person.

[outofthefreezer]

Isaac coughs suddenly realizing the silence was even weirder. "Uh, no problem..." He makes sure to get Scott's lower back, hands slowing slightly as he massages the lotion and takes care not to accidentally go too low. It was a great thing Scott couldn't see his face, or his roaming eyes for that matter.

[affectioning]

"Awesome," he says, looking back, he still has to do his legs and face but this is what he needed. "Want me to do you?" Wording, Scott!

[outofthefreezer]

"Yeah..." The reply is slow, even as the word comes out of his mouth Isaac replays the last few seconds and a blush rises to his face. Wow.

[affectioning]

"Take off your shirt," he says. Because, Isaac has to so Scott can get to his back. He grabs the bottle and squirts some more into his right hand. "It's cold," he warns him.

[outofthefreezer]

Isaac raises an eyebrow before pulling his shirt off over his head. "Worried I'm gonna die of intense sunburn because I'm so pale?"

[affectioning]

"Skin cancer is no laughing matter, Isaac," he tries to say with his best straight face. "Turn around." When he does, Scott rubs it into both hands before working it into Isaac's back. He's sure to get behind his shoulders, along the middle and lower, hands grazing the top of his swimsuit.

"There," he says, beaming. Stretching out his legs, he squirts a little more onto his hand and sets the container down, doing his legs then.

[outofthefreezer]

"Glad you're happy. Anything else you need me to do? Should I drink loads of water, sit in the shade maybe?" He can't help but make fun of Scott for his mothering.

[affectioning]

"If you can find the shade and don't want to sit next to me, then sure," he says, pointedly. "But, why wouldn't you have to sit near me?"

[outofthefreezer]

Isaac just smiles. "I'll sit with you, dude. You don't have fleas, right?"

[affectioning]

"I don't know. I think you should risk it." Give him a second to sunscreen his face and behind his ears. Join him, though, won't you?

[outofthefreezer]

He just smiles before dropping down beside Scott, not slowly at all and definitely not causing a small cloud of sand. He tilts his head to the side still grinning at Scott as if begging him to bitch.

[affectioning]

He just brushes sand off the towel he put down before laying on his back and letting the sun beam down. If Isaac doesn't want to put more sunscreen on, that's his choice. But, if he gets sunburned, Scott will say I told you so. He turns his head and looks up at Isaac, grinning.

[outofthefreezer]

Can werewolves even get sunburn? He rolls over onto his stomach anyway propped up by his elbows until he realizes he's effectively just watching Scott and gazes out towards the beach instead.

"This is nice."

[affectioning]

Maybe until it goes away. He should ask Derek. Maybe Derek doesn't even know.

He closes his eyes, feeling the sun down on them. But, then he remembers he's hungry. So, he rolls over and reaches into the bag, into plastic bag inside that bag and pulls out the two burritos, offering it to Isaac.

[outofthefreezer]

He takes the offered burrito unwrapping it and taking a hungry bite because he'd woken up and they'd walked for a bit and maybe he didn't realise just how hungry he was. He makes a vague 'mmph' noise because it was good.

[affectioning]

Right? He takes a bite of his own, moving to sit up and watch the waves as he eats.

[outofthefreezer]

Eating isn't exactly the most successful way to forge a conversation so instead Isaac is watching the waves too, occasionally glancing over at Scott just because.

[affectioning]

Scott, looks to Isaac when he looks at him. His eyebrows go up, smiling, munching away. This is nice. This is better. No pressure. No drama. Just sun. And Isaac. And yeah, sand.

[outofthefreezer]

Oh well that's him getting caught watching Scott, whatever. He tries his best to smile with a mouthful which is awkward and nope, before turning away again. He couldn't help but think it was nice too.
