→ you know I'd rather work alone than play a supporting role

When: August 14th.
Rating: R.
Characters: Everyone! Tell your friends!
Summary: There are no Star Wars people in the City so let's have ourselves a bit of education.

What started off as a brosession quickly turned into a free for all movie night. Not that Stiles minds considering, but it means he has to plan and execute everything a lot more smoothly. So when Saya offers up the equipment they need he jumps at the chance.

Isaac helps cart everything about - werewolf strength, Stiles is envious -, and together they track down a space in Xanadu and fill it. It's not a hot night but it's warm and balmy and nobody's going to end up with pneumonia. Squashy beanbags get borrowed off a particularly hipster coffee shop and placed liberally about the place. They take what they can, couches that fit out of doors and large obnoxious cushions so everyone has a place to settle. There's a fuckton of candy too. Stiles pretty much wipes out a weeks allowance alone getting it and the soda. But if he's doing something he's doing it properly and he texts everyone the time and the place and all but collapses into a beanbag.

When people arrive he'll move. Honest.

"Lydia, hey," he says, spotting her arrive. He has no hard feelings considering her reveal. He's had time to mellow out and Allison gave him some great advice. He's all smiles. "We're watching them all." Even the bad ones, it sounds like.

"I know! Leave it to Stiles to make sure your pop culture education is thorough." says Lydia amicably. She is being a bit careful as she studies him, looking for any indication of his previous displeasure and for the moment, finding none. "So I hope you find it informative. Just remember a parsec is a unit of distance measurement and not time." Because math is important, boys and girls.

"A parsec, right." He'll file that away. "I'm really glad you could come," he says with a smile. His eyes turn apologetic. "I'm sorry for reprimanding you. It wasn't my place and you're right, I'm not... I shouldn't be the 'alpha' first whatever that means. I acted that way because I worry about you."

She studies him sidelong. "It's part of your nature now." she says. "I'm not saying I'm keen on this whole assumption that suddenly I have to do what you tell me to do just because I've agreed that you're the leader in our little gang, but I have agreed to that much. So we'll figure it out as we go. You bother because you care. I get it."

"It's not," he tries to explain. "And if it is, you're still my friend - I went too far and I know that." Thanks to Allison. "There's no assumption being made, don't worry."

Lydia actually leans forward in her seat and puts her hand on top of his. There's nothing flirty about it as she gives his hand a brief squeeze, lets it go, and leans back again. "We're okay, Scott. Promise. It's...kind of nice, actually, to know that there are people who are there for you."

"There are. More than one. We all are." Every one of them, he keeps back, trying not to sound too redundant.

Something in Lydia's responding smile suggests she doubts that, but she's not looking to start an argument. "Go enjoy the party." she suggests playfully instead. "I'll be okay, honest. You know me. It don't even start 'til I walk in."
