Welcome Back My Friends, to the Show That Never Ends
When; November 23 & 24; 4th Wall Weekend
Rating; Any and all (please note if your thread rating goes high or if it might require warnings for content)
Characters; Yours, mine, ours, and all
Summary; Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the show! So many unexpected visitors! But you've so many wonderful things to do in the City. Stay a while, stay a while...
Enjoy.
→This is an open mingle log for any and all players who wish to use it! Just tag your thread, meme-style, with your character's location and any other notes you might think are necessary and have fun.
Log; Where to go first? Misery Square, where so many new arrivals splashdown in the famous Fountain? Look, over there is the Carousel--listen! You can hear the ticking even here (of course you can, even if the Clock is underground, everyone can hear it all the time). If you get lost, there's the Welcome Center. They'll get you oriented. There's all the shops and stores on the square--anything can be had. There's Xanadu, the main park--it has parks within parks within it, even a real Amusement Park. There's the Cathedral and the Library and the Opera House and the Academy, the ring of 12 Apartments (immediately noticeable), the Underground (easily accessible or avoidable via Subway Panic trains) with all its pleasures and pains, the Beach (complete with Lighthouse). Come climb the Mountain (and see the ring the witches of October left behind). Wander the Wilderness (not too far!). There's a Farm to the northeast of the City and lots of rough characters out that way. Be careful. Or maybe you're more in the mood for some fun and games. Head down to the City proper to see that. Or maybe take a moment to search for peace at the Temple. Stop for a cup of tea (plenty of cafes and teashops). Maybe play a game of cards or two at the Casinos. There are Galleries and Shops every which a way. A wild city, a colorful city. Every comfort and problem of every city can be found in this City.
It's a city of Cities. Enjoy.

D'aww! *attempts to enable*
It's sort of well--
[How could she put it exactly?]
Spiky in the middle and it's got these sort of things all over.
You've just got to see it. Maybe you know where it's from.
[At least that is what she's hoping but if it baffles him just the same, she'd be amused.]
I am much enabled it has to be said. Maybe after I settle Q in~
Only maybe?
[ Oh Rose. ]
So, shouldn't you have this place all figured out already? What do we know?
Yaya! \0/ It would be epic.
Maybe. There have been some things that have thrown you off.
[Only a small list that she can recall.]
It takes time. And even when you think you have something it sort of turns upside down. [Or becomes elusive like an exit but she's not gonna mention that.]
We know it pulls all sorts of people from different universes and there's a ticking if you're by yourself for too long. There's these curses that just happen at random and it's sort of hard to get out. Even you can't figure it out.
Where's the TARDIS?
[And now she's looking at him with hopeful eyes. Hoping that maybe his ship is here and maybe she can finally see it after so long.]
Re: Yaya! \0/ It would be epic.
Even I can't figure it out? Future me, the one you came here with, he's stuck here too?
[ Never mind the paradox, though, multiple versions of him generally meant trouble in general. Okay, second things second. ]
The TARDIS is... She's... [ Rolling his eyes toward the sky. ] How do I put this? She's not here. Gone off moonlighting, no doubt.
[ He's more worried than that. ]
Lost, would you believe it? [ How Did We Lose The TARDIS This Time? could actually be his real name, though... ]
Re: Yaya! \0/ It would be epic.
[Her tone is flat knowing that he doesn't really like this place. She can't blame him although she's been here longer and on her own. She catches his statement. He thinks that she's still with him. It's not the case though. Complicated for lack of a better word is the right choice. But how to explain it to him?]
I didn't come with him. Sort of came on my own. It's a long story.
[One that she would tell him if he asks of course she doesn't think that he will. She looks away now focusing on the different forms of plant life.]
Reckon she must be having fun. Haven't seen her in ages.
[And at this rate probably never.]
But maybe you'll find her again.
[She shoots him a small grin thinking they must still be off exploring and having the times of their lives back where he's from.]
no subject
I don't want to know.
[ It's interjected just as flatly, and then he falls quiet, listening to her speak. So they're not here with the TARDIS, and they aren't here together, which means that this thing is both picky and powerful. Well, what about that? It must be a Tuesday. ]
I can about put up with you lot running off on me, but me and the TARDIS have been together since the beginning. She ought to know better.
[ It's said very warmly, full of fond sentiment, and he swings Rose's arm deliberately. ]
So what's he like, new me? Bigger ears? New teeth? Oh--am I ginger? I've always fancied myself as ginger.
no subject
Maybe she's in one of her moods? You should get her something when you see her again.
[It's only a guess of course and a suggestion as she looks at their arms swinging. Her eyes light up for a moment and she feels a little at ease. She glances over at him thinking of the man he'll turn into and the fun times they'll have but then also the sad times.]
Not ginger, no.
[She laughs at the thought of him ginger. She could count the number of times she's suggested he just dye his hair only to fall on deaf ears.]
Sort of brown. You're thin, tall, different.
[Her smile grows just a little more fondly.]
Time's just flown by though.
no subject
[ Strolling along, enjoying the scenery and the company, the almost melancholy happiness that echoes between the two of them. ]
Tall but not ginger, huh? Well alright. Doesn't sound too bad, that.
[ He lets her go, stepping over toward one of the flowers they're passing to examine it, fingers gently tilting the petals upward. ]
Ohhh. You're beautiful.
no subject
[She shoots him a look wondering who he is talking about. But then he's of again and she grins just observing him.]
You know what is it?
[She looks over at the flower, it's one of the ones that have been eluding her.]
no subject
It's my favourite. Used to be my favourite. Oh, but it's impossible. There's none left, no more. They're all gone. [ He leans in, breathing in the unique scent of the flower, his eyes closing for a brief moment of pleasure. ] The last schlenk blossoms in the universe.
[ He lets it go, but barely, looking back up at Rose. ]
You have to smell it, Rose. Don't get too close.
no subject
Schlenk blossom?
[Not one that she is familiar with but given his reaction she can guess that it's probably from his planet.]
I never knew that.
[She really can't help herself accepting his invitation and crouching down to get closer to the flower. She draws in a breath taking in the scent.]
It smells amazing. Don't think I've smelled anything like this before.
[She doesn't heed his warning and moves closer taking in the scent. Her senses are overwhelmed and she sneezes. She looks over at him apologetically.]
Sorry. So, um, it's from your world then, yeah?
no subject
[ Nine and flowers man
He grins at her, then, clearly sobering, smells the flower one last time. It's been too long since he last stopped to smell the schlenk blossoms, and now they're all gone. All except the ones here. He stands back up slowly, looking across the gardens. They hadn't seemed to large from the outside. Gallifreyan flowers, Time Lord science--this place is more than it seems. There were Time Lords here - plural - the Doctor had felt them. One of those was no doubt his future self, but who else was here? Whose house would have a garden like this.
The Doctor bristles, looking over his shoulder warily. Someone else is out there. ]
Rose, since you've been here, have you come in contact with anyone else; anyone who seems to know more than he should?
no subject
We'll there were the deities but then they got over thrown by the anonymous movement.
no subject
Nevermind, it's probably nothing.
[ He doesn't look like it's nothing. ]
no subject
No, Doctor it's something. No one's really seen much of them when they were around. A bit Wizard of OZ.
[She looks around wearily before focusing back on him.]
What's wrong?
no subject
Nothing here's outside the realms of Time Lord science. These gardens... Bringing us here - Me. It wouldn't be the first time I've been summoned like this.
[ He's not done with the flowers, it turns out, taking out his sonic and running through a few settings on them, speaking as he does. It keeps him busy. ]
I feel them, Rose. I can feel them. Not just the other Doctor, the one you know--there are other Time Lords here. And that's probably not going to be a good thing.
no subject
So I've heard.
[She observes him quietly.]
Anything off?
[But then she's back to confusion at the mention of others of his kind being here. She's seen the look of regret on his face in the past. How can that be a bad thing now?]
Why not? All that time we travelled...Your people...If they are around how can that be bad?
no subject
No, it's all...normal. [ He sounds like someone's told him that the TARDIS has been melted down, thoroughly grief stricken. Normal. He rocks back on his heels for a moment, then pulls himself upright again, looking Rose in the eyes at last. ]
Maybe if it was all of them. Maybe even if it was just random, but it isn't. We've been chosen - deliberately selected out of trillions of possibilities, just like these flowers - and when you start picking out of a smaller barrel, the probability of pulling a bad apple out of the bunch can only go up.
Some Time Lords just aren't very nice, Rose. If you'd met any of them you'd understand. [ Oh. ] Other than me, I mean.
no subject
[She's trying her best to stay positive and not worry but she can't help herself when it comes to him. She reaches for his hand.]
Well I haven't seen any other Time Lords around lately. I mean just the other 2 that are here.
[But still he feels them and she does believe him. But then she starts to wonder as odd as it is. Maybe he's effected by something?]
Maybe you're going through a curse? It happens you know. It can mess with your senses.
[And then it hits her one Time Lord that she's heard of from both of them.]
Bad apple? Like that, um, Master bloke?
no subject
The one name he desperately didn't want to say out loud--or hear. ]
Where did you hear that name?
no subject
From you. Future you, I mean. And past you.
no subject
[ Not his usual kind of fantastic, not at all. The Doctor paces away for a few steps, turns, placing his hands on his hips. ]
I mean, of course he did. If anyone was going to survive it would have to be him.
no subject
[She looks over at him with sympathetic eyes. The story she knows is in bits and pieces. They both didn't really go into too much details but she does know that he dies again.]
I don't know the complete story cause well you know how you are. But maybe you can talk to him?
[It's a suggestion. Not like she knows where the TARDIS is as 10 is always hiding from her.]
no subject
That's probably the best idea.
[ He won't. Ten would tell him nothing. Spoilers. ]
Come on. Rainbow flowers, you said.
no subject
And I'm not gonna disappoint.
[She grins confidentially and leads him along by the hand to a row of bushes before reaching a small row of rainbow petaled flowers. Green and blue hues with red and orange. She looks over at him giving his hand a squeeze.]
Isn't that impressive?
