tampered | (no subject)

"Good night, Rose," he whispers before lying down to stare at the ceiling while she sleeps.

Hours pass before Rose wakes up to see him beside her. She smiles and reaches out to ruffle his hair. "You know I had the most amazing dream." She thinks back to the wedding not noticing the ring on her finger. In her semi awake state she thinks it was all a dream.

He wonders what that could be...although he thinks he can guess. She probably thinks she's back in her flat.

"Oh? Do tell."

He'll either cringe or laughs, she thinks still debating telling him.
"We got married!" She says and then laughs.

She still doesn't notice her hand yet. "I mean us married, you'd break out in hives, yeah?" She's joking of course.

Oh would he now? He wonders whether he should indicate her left hand or let her find out on her own. He decides to wait and let her figure it out for herself.

"Yeaaaaaah," he replies. "I wonder what you ate to make you have such a dream."

"Dunno," she says trying to think back. What did happen last night? The dream just sticks. She smiles at him and just as she is about to ask if he slept at all she notices her left hand and gasps.

"Oh my God!" She looks at him and back to the ring.

He gives her a surprised, innocent expression. He wants to see how long he can play around with this before telling her that it really happened.

"What?" he asks. "You remembered snogging the maid?"

Rose gives him a look. Snogging the maid?

"What?" She doesn't remember that but it manages to distract her away from the ring.

"I did no such thing!"

"You sure about that?" he asks, intending to milk this for a while.

He picks up the bottle and holds it to her.

"You had quite a bit of this, you know."

"You corrupted me!" She almost shouts looking at the bottle. And it really wouldn't be the first time.

"Oh you sound just like your mother."

If she keeps that up, he may regret marrying her in the first place. He really hopes Rose doesn't start taking on her mum's characteristics. What a nightmare.

"Oi! I do not." She eyes the bottle again. "How much did you have?"

"Not as much as you," he replies.

It may be a lie, but at least it's still distracting her from the ring. He may tell her before too long.

It's odd that she doesn't have a headache. Another looks. "How comes I don't got a headache?"

Now, he decides to drop the bombshell on her. The look on her face will be priceless.

"You tell me, Mrs. Doctor."

Mrs. Doctor? There's an instant look of surprise to her face as she realizes now that it was real and not some silly dream.

"I'm...We're...married!" Rose's eyes are bright now staring at her husband before she nuzzles his nose.

"You see the ring, right?"

He returns the nuzzling and decides to pinch her to make sure she knows it's not a dream.

"I do," she replies with a grin before feeling a small sting at the pinch. She kisses him softly.

"What about your ring?"

He holds up his hand to show it to her. He has to make sure he doesn't misplace it for any reason.

"See? Not a dream."

She eyes the ring on his finger and smiles.

"Definitely. Not a dream." She never would have imagined she'd be married to him. Or married ever actually.

"So, what's next, eh?"

He can't help but ask, even though it's probably the millionth time he's asked it.

And she's never get tired of hearing it. She just laughs while she strokes his chest with her finger.

"How about breakfast? Or we could explore this place some more." They are just suggestions.

"Breakfast sounds good. Just don't snog the maid again."

He's just messing with her about that, but it probably won't hurt to keep up the joke a bit.

She lightly pinches his shoulder.

"The same goes for you," she says before reaching over to pick up the phone and dial in their order.

As if he would.

"She seemed very into you. Especially after you invited her to join us."

He's just messing with her now, but he wants to get her thinking that might have happened.
