Log; Ev's Welcome Back Party x) [ INCOMPLETE... forever, most likely ]

When; Today (July 29th)
Rating; Oh lord, you never know what's going to happen.
Characters; Well. The whole city if they want to join in.
Summary; Zack's throwing Ev a Returning To the City Party and, well. There's alcohol?
Note; So yeah, I decided to have one of these up anyways. So here's how it's gonna work. I'm stealing Shahni's idea with putting on the Subject Line who you want to talk to in specific. So, if you're wanting to talk to Zack, you put something like [ ATTN: Zack ] on the subject line. Pretty easy, right?

If you want to talk to just anyone and it's open and free for all, put [ ATTN: All ] on the subject line. Or something on those lines. And yeah, click "reply to this" and not "post a new comment" when you want to talk to someone in specific if the thread asks for you. It'll get confusing otherwise.

So yeah, join in if you want. If not? That's cool too, I just wanted to give the option to those who don't mind doing something random. ♥ And pls to be forgiving my intro post. I just woke up, after all.

Log;

So this whole party thing was pretty cool so far. The Host Club kids came to his place and started setting things up in the morning, and they all seemed like such good sports (and a lot of help, too) and were doing a pretty damn good job with everything so far.

Sure, there were a few... very small accidents here and there, but that was mainly Zack's fault since he didn't know where to put himself half of the time. The couch was his new best friend for the first few hours after that.

But soon things were set up and ready to go all thanks to them, and Zack had taken the liberty to give them all hugs before the flow of people started coming in.

Now while his place wasn't exactly huge, it was big enough to throw a party. And as Zack said once, if things got too crowded there was always the hallway to parade in, especially since it would just gather more attention and Zack, for one, loved attention. Especially if it involved people getting together like this and being able to meet new faces. Thus why it wasn't a small party, like, well, welcome back parties should be.

And things were finally picking up, quicker than he thought, actually. Maybe he should have thought about doing it outside, but did Zack ever take anyone's advice? Oh no. Not at all. But it wasn't overly crowded since he prodded some people outside in the hall where there were plenty things set up there as well.

Zack looked extremely pleased as violet eyes circled around towards the mini crowd he had going in and out, waving and saying loud “hello!”s over people's heads as he either passed out drinks or ran to go talk to random bits of friends here and there.

Smirking in response since those where thoughts exactly, Elena relaxed slightly. A sense of humor was always a good thing. "No one in in their right mind, I suppose. Or even not. It is free after all."

Taking the offered hand, Elena nodded and a very small smile graced the corners of her lips. "Elena. Likewise." Eyeing the suit that the other woman was wearing, the Turk couldn't help but ask. "So. Personal choice or line of work?"

Hal paused slightly, as if to properly measure out the words she would use to answer Elena.

"Work." She announced, concisely. If the other woman was truly curious, she wouldn't mind answering, though she still wouldn't delve too far into it. Too much information was definitely a liabilty, especially with Yagami Light, no-- Kira, in attendance. "Yourself?"

Taking a sip from her cup, Elena made a non-committal noise and couldn't help but press. "What kind of work do you do then?" She was just making conversation really and asking was the only thing logical to do. "The same. It's a bit of a calling card though."

Usually when there were questions to be asked, she was the one dishing them out. But Hal was prepared for this. "Investigator for the CIA." she answered calmly. Elena's answer was slightly anticipated, but the full statement piqued her interest. "How's the suit a calling card?" the woman asked.

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] lady-turk.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
"I take it that's some offical orgainzation where you come from?" An educated guess judging from the way Hal had said it. Initals for the name and a calm and level tone were the only things Elena was going on, but she didn't think she was in the wrong on this one.

Giving a slight shrug, really more of an up and down motion of one of her shoulders, Elena picked her words carefully, without making it seem that she was. "People usually know what type of job a person has by their clothes where I'm from."

"Yes. I work for a national government." the investigator clarified succinctly. Since Elena didn't seem to recognize the acronym, Hal could deduce that the American organization probably didn't exist in her world. "CIA stands for Central Intelligence Agency." she explained.

Elena's reply was strange to Hal, but she wasn't going to force her to elaborate if she didn't want to. For the time being, the other woman wasn't a threat. Her eyebrow arched gracefully as she gave Elena a sideward glance.

"Are you a friend of the guest of honor?" she asked, changing the subject.

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] lady-turk.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Interesting," was all that Elena said. And it was. Elena supposed that what she did was also working for a government, but that was not exactly correct. Especially not after everything that had happened. The only thing Elena was sure of was her loyalty towards her boss and the other members of the group. "What aspect of intelligence do you deal with?"

Hal wasn't going to ask any futher questions about what Elena did for a living? That was rather intriging. Taking a long sip of her drink, Elena decided to clear up a few questions that probably were going through the other woman's head. A gesture of good faith, as it were. "It's a uniform and anyone could tell what my job was from it."

She still answered the other question, even if the subject hadn't been dropped. It was a harmless question, after all. "No, but I know the hosts. We're all from the same place."

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] call-me-hal.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Criminal investigation." the investigator answered simply. Hal could have tacked on 'espionage' and 'saving the world from a crazed mass-murderer' to the list, but there really wasn't any reason to.

So the suit was a uniform? Hal supposed she could say the same for herself, but it hardly differentiated her from any other person required to wear a suit for work. "Your job must be pretty special then." she noted aloud, slightly surprised that Elena had volunteered the information despite the change in topic.

"I admit, I've only run into Zack the other day." Hal confessed into her drink with a grin. "But I have talked to Evelynne a couple of times."

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] lady-turk.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Elena didn't know why, but she couldn't help but grin at hearing this. "Sounds like a load of fun." It couldn't have been the drink that caused her amusement. There was no way that a single cup could have affected her any. She was known to knock them back with the best of them. Whatever it was, she couldn't help but be amused with hearing about Hal's job.

"You could say that," she replied, still with a grin. The Turk was still in a plesant mood from hearing about Hal's job so she went on. She wasn't revealing anything new. Everyone from her world knew about the Turks and had a basic knowledge of them. "The job is rather hard to get so the unit's rather small."

"He's a good guy and easy to get along with," Elena informed. It was true. Who else could have befriended Sephiroth the way he had? "So her full name's Evelynne? I've heard good things about her. She's well liked."

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] call-me-hal.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
"It has its moments." she admitted, though those moments were truly few and far between. Elena seemed pleased with her answers, though the reason behind it was lost on her.

Working in small group was something she could definitely relate to. Before they teamed up with the Japanese investigation group, there was only Near, Lester, Gevanni and herself. "Lemme guess, tight-knit group?" she asked, speaking from her personal experience.

"I noticed." Hal responded with a grin. "As for Evelynne, if you told her of her popularity, I doubt she'd believe you."

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] lady-turk.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Like any job, no matter what it is." Janitor, Turk, investigater, president of a world-wide company... They all had their moments of hate and joy. Maybe that's what it was that had her so amused, though it didn't feel like it.

Nodding, Elena couldn't help but think about the others. Reno, Rude, Tseng, and their boss, Rufus. There was a reason they worked so well together and reasons why they all stuck by Rufus's side. "It's like a rather messed up, but close, family."

"You mean this party's not evidence enough?" Elena asked with a raised eyebrow.

[identity profile] call-me-hal.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
The mental image of her and the other members of the SPK as a "family" made her giggle. "I guess so, though I'm not too keen on playing 'mom' in an all-boys' club like that." the investigator smirked.

"Are we counting all the people who just came for the alcohol and food?" came Hal's verbal riposte.

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] lady-turk.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Elena had to raise an eyebrow at hearing this. Seemed the two of them had a bit more in common than just being blondes in suits it would seem. "You can relate on more than one level, I'm guessing."

"Depending on if said people decide to pay the guest of honor a visit or not."

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] call-me-hal.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Can I ever." Hal said with a laugh. "I guess we have a couple of things in common."

"That depends on if they can figure out which one of these lovely people she is in this crowd."

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] lady-turk.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 08:44 am (UTC)(link)
"So it would seem," Elena replied with a grin. She raised her cup in salute before taking a sip. "Never expected to meet anyone else who could relate. It's a nice surprise."

Glancing around at the crowd of people, Elena couldn't help but wonder herself who Evelynne was. "Speaking of which, can you spot Evelynne anywhere?"

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] call-me-hal.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
Hal nodded in agreement, and took another sip of her drink. "Small world." she commented, pausing. "Worlds." she corrected herself.

"Yeah. See that woman over there?" The CIA investigator tilted her head in the direction of the couch, where the brown-haired bartender sat, alongside Amadeus, Sunny and... her eyes narrowed as they rested on Yagami Light.

Re: [ALL]

[identity profile] lady-turk.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
Elena gave a light chuckle at the correction. It really was amazing what one got used to after dealing with it for a time. Previously, the thought of multiple worlds would have made her laugh, and now, it was a common fact.

Eyes following the direction that Hal was gesturing towards, Elena quickly picked out who must have been Evelynne. "Hm... So that's our guest..." More out of feeling than anything else, Elena suddenly felt compelled to look at her companion. Turning to take a look, Elena raised an eyebrow at the other woman's expression. "See something disagreeable?"

[ALL; Hay people on the couch with Ev!!!]

[identity profile] call-me-hal.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Disagreeable?" Hal repeated, her expression softening. It was the understatement of the century, but if the woman was truly disturbed, the her companion wouldn't have known. "You could put it that way, Yes..." she continued, in an even tone. "It's not a big deal."

At least it wasn't yet.

Then again, Hal doubted that Kira would cause any harm in such a public place, especially when he had a façade to maintain.

"Yes, that's Eveylnne.", the woman answered, giving cheerful wave to the crowd sitting on the couch. "Did you want to go over and say hello? I think you'd get a kick out of her."

[ALL; Hay people on the couch with Ev!!!]

[identity profile] lady-turk.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
That was a rather unusual change in expression. There was obviously a lot going on here that Elena didn't know about. She wouldn't ask though. Make note of, certainly, but she wouldn't mention anything more. She simply made a noncommittal sound and sipped her drink.

Shrugging and giving Hal a small grin, Elena nodded. "Sure. If anything, I can talk with Sunny after greeting Evelynne."

[ooc:Should we move this over to Ev's couch comments or just leave it here? ]

[ALL; Hay people on the couch with Ev!!!]

[identity profile] call-me-hal.livejournal.com 2006-07-31 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Let's do that then. I haven't paid my respects to the guest of honor either." The woman laughed. She noted that Elena was familar with Evelynne's assassin companion. To be familiar with with Sunny implied that they must have something in common. Though that conclusion could only be confirmed by watching the two of them in conversation. Which was fine for Hal.

After all, getting close to keep an eye on Light was an objective that had to be met. Any additional information regarding the relations of other city residents would be a side bonus.

"That works." the investigator agreed. "Let's go."

[ooc: I'll ask Ev-mun when she comes back, ok? ♥]
