Log; Ev's Welcome Back Party x) [ INCOMPLETE... forever, most likely ]

When; Today (July 29th)
Rating; Oh lord, you never know what's going to happen.
Characters; Well. The whole city if they want to join in.
Summary; Zack's throwing Ev a Returning To the City Party and, well. There's alcohol?
Note; So yeah, I decided to have one of these up anyways. So here's how it's gonna work. I'm stealing Shahni's idea with putting on the Subject Line who you want to talk to in specific. So, if you're wanting to talk to Zack, you put something like [ ATTN: Zack ] on the subject line. Pretty easy, right?

If you want to talk to just anyone and it's open and free for all, put [ ATTN: All ] on the subject line. Or something on those lines. And yeah, click "reply to this" and not "post a new comment" when you want to talk to someone in specific if the thread asks for you. It'll get confusing otherwise.

So yeah, join in if you want. If not? That's cool too, I just wanted to give the option to those who don't mind doing something random. ♥ And pls to be forgiving my intro post. I just woke up, after all.

Log;

So this whole party thing was pretty cool so far. The Host Club kids came to his place and started setting things up in the morning, and they all seemed like such good sports (and a lot of help, too) and were doing a pretty damn good job with everything so far.

Sure, there were a few... very small accidents here and there, but that was mainly Zack's fault since he didn't know where to put himself half of the time. The couch was his new best friend for the first few hours after that.

But soon things were set up and ready to go all thanks to them, and Zack had taken the liberty to give them all hugs before the flow of people started coming in.

Now while his place wasn't exactly huge, it was big enough to throw a party. And as Zack said once, if things got too crowded there was always the hallway to parade in, especially since it would just gather more attention and Zack, for one, loved attention. Especially if it involved people getting together like this and being able to meet new faces. Thus why it wasn't a small party, like, well, welcome back parties should be.

And things were finally picking up, quicker than he thought, actually. Maybe he should have thought about doing it outside, but did Zack ever take anyone's advice? Oh no. Not at all. But it wasn't overly crowded since he prodded some people outside in the hall where there were plenty things set up there as well.

Zack looked extremely pleased as violet eyes circled around towards the mini crowd he had going in and out, waving and saying loud “hello!”s over people's heads as he either passed out drinks or ran to go talk to random bits of friends here and there.

"What?" She almost lost the grip on her soda as she was suddenly hauled towards a group of dancing people. "Dancing? I... I don't dance!" She was all to aware that he was being a bit too familiar with her personage. "I can't dance!" She tried to dig her heels in to the floor. "I'm horrible! No rhythm!"

He continued to drag her along, his amusement growing as she struggled. This was most assuredly a good idea. "Doesn't matter, no one is going to care anyway." As they passed by a table, he set his own drink down and snached Shizune's freshly opened one from her hands placing it beside his own.

Once out on the dace floor, crowded as everywhere else was, he pulled her close to her and began to lead, trusting that she would fall into this easily enough. Part of a ninja's standard training, and especially a kunoichi's training, consisted of things like this anyway.

"I care. I care quite a bit." She let the drink go, making a note not to pick it back up. Goodness knows what could happen to it whilst unattended. She still was half-heartedly resisting his pull.

Knowledge in the more refined arts was part of what every kunoichi learned, but she'd usually been able to avoid missions which involved covert alliances, lies, and seductions. She knew all of the more common dances, ballroom and bar. Almost on instinct she fell into his step, trained to follow. But her face showed how happy she was about the whole thing.

"I hope you're getting some twisted pleasure out of this." She grit out, trying to calm herself. It wouldn't do to be so embarressed. She kept repeating over and over in her head, he's giving you a place to stay, as if the thought would keep her under control.

He couldn't help but laugh at her. "Shizune san, calm down, relax, have fun. At least you aren't drunk and pretending you can dance, or singing off tune along with the music." Several people were doing those things around them. There were a lot of people here, and all of them were busy enjoying themselves in some form or another.

He was enyoing himself at least, but Shizune was almost too easy to upset. His goal wasnt' to make her angry, but he wasn't holding her here and she could step away from the dance at any time. He wouldn't stop her, he had only forced her out here.

"Yeah, little blessings." Shizune did not enjoy the effects on alcohol, especially on other people. She moved where the dance required, ankles turning and feet stepping. She mentally cursed her penchant for honoring obligations and feeling indebted to others.

She also cursed the fate that had thrown her together with her enemy. If she knew anyone else, had anywhere else to go... but she didn't. She supposed he would have no motives to kill her, after all, they were both stuck here anyway, but she still couldn't shake the learned enmity.

"Tell me you find this fun." She murmured, finally managing to calm herself fully. He thought it funny when she was flustered? Well... she would be the picture of calm and composed.

The music’s beat was fast and made the dance more of a workout, but it didn’t distract him from Shizune. He could see she was figuring him out. But it really was no secret that he liked to watch other people squirm; he was quite good at making them uncomfortable too, years of practice and all. She seemed to have composed herself, it didn't bother him.

"I do find this fun. I'm at a great party and dancing with a beautiful woman." He put as much sincerity into his voice as possible, smiling down at her. She wouldn’t believe him, he knew her well enough to be able to tell as much, but he had said it anyway. Now he was waiting for her reaction.

She moved as quickly as the dance required, glad this was not one of those romantic slow dances young girls were fond of. That would be too awkward. As it was the fast pace kept her more occupied with keeping time and balance. It was a dance that could be distant or high-contact, and she planned to keep it the former.

His comment she didn't believe for a moment. For one thing, she was not beautiful. A far cry from ugly, she assumed, but in the end, rather plain. The best compliment she had ever recieved throughout her life was... 'cute'. Not a name she found appealing. And in addition, it was coming from Kabuto's mouth, a mouth she usually heard only lies and deceptions from. She didn't know how to reply to the compliment, so she kept her mouth shut.

The song ended, and so did the dancing. His breathing rate had increased ever so slightly, but he was a far cry from tired. He led them away from the other dancers as the next song started up. Shizune still hadn't said anything though.

"Are you okay? You suddenly went quiet." He had expected something out of her. Maybe he had gone too far with is taunting, and saying something like that had been too much? He hadn't meant it to anger her, maybe throw her off a little, but it wasn't necessarily untrue. He thought she was pretty, not frivolous with her appearance like other women, more of a natural beauty.

Shizune let out her breath, quite glad to be led off the dance floor, so glad she didn't mind the fact that she was being led.

"I'm... fine." The compliment had thrown her for a loop. Her mind was busy trying to figure out when the last time she had recieved a compliment was. Well... Naruto had once compliented her, but goodness he'd been thirteen.

"I just... need to get a different drink." Certainly she didn't know what could have tampered in the old one.

"...Of course." Well, at least she wasn't angry. "I'll be right back." He dissapeared into the crowd for a few minutes, only to return with a new drink for her. "Here you go."

Maybe it was time for a change in conversation. "What do you think of this place we've ended up in?"

Shizune nodded gratefully as she was handed her drink. She was careful opening it this time, and managed without incident.

"It's the most bizarre thing I could ever have imagined, all rolled into one." She said, hardly audible over the noise. She wasn't usually a loud person, unless startled. "I just don't know what to make of it." She took a sip of her drink, chest moving slightly still from the fast dancing.

"But..." A small smile, barely noticable, tugged at her mouth. She reached forward and poked Kabuto in the arm. "Ping." The earlier curse had amused her.

The smile returned to his face, and he mocked exasperation. "Oh no, not more of that. If I have to go through that again I might go insane." He wasn’t sure why, but as much as he loved to torment the woman, he did want her to have a good time. “Thank you for the dance Shizune san.” He added after a moment. He really didn’t spend much time out like this, and usually when he did come to gatherings like this it was somehow work related, it was nice to be able to enjoy himself without worrying about having to kill the person he was with after an evening of socializing with them.

"... Your welcome." She managed to squash most of the smile that wanted to come to her lips. That statement of his had almost sounded genuine.

"I'm getting a little tired of the crowds. Care to take our leave in a graceful and mysterious manner?" She shrugged. "I'm not much of a party person."

Kabuto glanced at the time, it really was late, they had been here far longer than it had seemed. It was so late, that it was actually early, the sun would be up in another two hours, at least. "I didn't realize," he said out lout, "I guess I was just having too good a time... spending the evening with you." He added the last bit as an after thought, never one to give up the teasing.

"Sure... what did you have in mind?" There were several jutsu that would allow them to dissapear, with no more than a small puff of smoke in one particular case, it wouldn't allow them to travel too far, but outside the building at least. Besides, an exit in a "gracefl and mysterious manner" like that would give others something to talk about at least.

Shizune gave a small yawn. She had a hard enought time staying awake filing Tsunade-sama's papers, let alone dancing and listening to music at a party. She finished the last bit of her drink, ignoring Kabuto's first comment, because she didn't have an answer, or a reply.

"I think you know which one I have in mind." Shizune gave one smile, one real smile, before making her exit in a small puff of smoke, leaving her empty soda behind.

Kabuto was moments behind her, leaving all the people and noise behind in a barely audible pop and bit of smoke that would dissapate almost as quickly as it was made.
