Log; Completed
When; Monday, May 12 (evening)
Rating; PG-13
Characters; Toshiko Sato
warped_inside and Ianto Jones
king_coffee
Summary; Two cursed Torchwood members walk into a bar.
Log;
"You know what I think is great about this, is that it's just actually nice to go out to a place like this and not being chasing Blowfish or bloody arrogant Time Agents."
Tosh's shopping trip had been successful, if one judged from the very tight leather skirt (not a mini, but that slit up the back was just bare inches from scandalous) and the very low-cut blue blouse (she was taking Ianto's suggestion about cleavage seriously). The always-present computer satchel? Nowhere in sight.

Okay maybe he drank too much sometimes.
As always, Tosh looked like a stunner, he thought.

"Maybe we should try and find someplace doing an open mic thing, later. You did promise to serenade me."
She found an open space at the bar and leaned her elbows on it, crossing one ankle behind the other.
no subject
He meant it too, stairs and Ianto when he was drunk were arch enemies.
"Hey I said at a gig, right? But yeah open mic if fine with me." Because Ianto could sing just the same, drunk or sober.
no subject
She frowned and tapped her finger against the bar. That bartender was taking way to long to get her order.
"Yeah, but when are you having a gig? I don't want to have to wait for like, weeks."
no subject
"Oi dude!" Ianto eventually said, waving his hand, and a resigned barman came over for their order.
"I forgot, yeah? But I think it's soon. Got stuff saying so in the flat, someplace."
no subject
She even went ahead and bought the first round, figuring that once Ianto got tipsy, he'd probably be buying the drinks for a good while after that, so it worked out in her favor. The barman didn't get a tip, though, because Tosh didn't appreciate his attitude.
"Suppose your mates will let you know," she said absently, attention diverted for a moment to the cute guy down the bar.
no subject
And score! Tosh bought the first round. This would be a good night.
"Yeah I'll just ask 'em," he said, watching as Tosh eyed up the cute guy. "Bet ya a green he's gay."
no subject
Tosh might even decide to buy the second round, but Ianto would have to agree to some dancing or something to get it. It wasn't like she was his girlfriend or one of his bandmates or something.
"He could swing both ways, though," she said thoughtfully, eying the stylish clothes. "Bet you a green I can get him to buy me a drink."
no subject
"Yeah, he could..." but Ianto did and his clothes weren't stylish! "I ain't takin' you up on that, I know you can make him. Unless I act like a jealous boyfriend."
no subject
"Such faith in me," she replied, smiling up at him. "That could be fun, though. You want to pretend to be my jealous boyfriend? 'Course, it'll cut down on your chances of scoring yourself, you know."
She was already calculating the possibilities of how many drinks she could con, and how much fun could be got out of the game.
no subject
Although Ianto wasn't all that interested in scoring, tonight, he wanted a bit of a drink. And to sing, maybe.
[ooc: Off to do a little bit of housework!]

[ooc: All righty! <3]

He nodded and let Tosh go off, deciding that he needed a few more drinks before he went to talk his way to the microphone.
no subject
"So, I've got a wager with my friend over there that I can get you to buy me a drink. You don't want me to lose, do you?"
It was always best just to go straight for the kill shot, and it worked this time as well. Tosh got her drink, and a phone number on a napkin to go along with it. And that would have made her quite happy indeed, if she hadn't suddenly felt the obtrusive presence of a hand on her ass. One that she felt quite sure didn't belong to Ianto, seeing as how he was several feet further down the bar from her.
"Hey!" she exclaimed, turning quickly and giving the grabby stranger a death glare.
no subject
He'd just finished drinking the pint he had (lost count) and was about to head for the mic, when he heard Tosh's indignant voice.
Even over the noise of the crowd.
He headed straight for her, and upon seeing what had happened, pushed between her and the sleaze. "Hey, back the fuck off."
no subject
But there was reliable Ianto to the rescue, and Tosh moved a little to the side so she could see past him, but definitely kept him between her and the groper. Who, unfortunately, couldn't see what the problem was, and made some kind of slurred accusation that could either have been a reference to Tosh's morals or Ianto's maternal heritage.
no subject
And he was only a little tipsy himself.
"Watch your fucking mouth!" He squared up to the the guy, firmly planting himself between the man and Tosh, showing that yes, he was serious.
no subject
Unlike Ianto, this drunk was of the belligerent type. He took exception to the Welshman getting in his face, and showed it by taking a wide swing at him.
"Ianto!" Tosh exclaimed in warning, although it wasn't precisely helpful for her to do so.
no subject
And he always found that the best way to fight? Was to be unpredictable.
So, instead of ducking out of the way of the wide swing - predictable! - he lurched forward, smacking his shoulder against the idiot's so he could unbalance him, use the man's weight against himself and chuck him into a table.
Hell yeah.
no subject
The guy hit the table with a crash, but sadly was too drunk to know what ought to hurt enough to keep a man from heading back into a fight. So while he struggled back to his feet, Tosh grabbed her drink off the bar and threw it at him.
Glass and all.
no subject
Oh like hell he was going to stand for that.
Lucky for Ianto, - he wasn't going to admit it hurt a little - the guy had been to wasted for it to be anything serious, but it still knocked him off his balance for a second or two, in which time he grabbed the drunkard's arm and tried to drag him down.
no subject
Oh now, it was all fine when Ianto was the one throwing all the punches, but you did not beat up on Tosh's teammates and get away with it. It was probably a lucky thing she hadn't bothered to pack her gun in her handbag (really, she needed a small gun, that thing just did not fit in a decent bag). But you didn't work years at Torchwood without learning a couple of tricks, especially if you were a small, fragile looking woman.
Which is why the drunk found one of Tosh's new designer shoes planted in the back of his knee. She'd have gone for the crotch but, well, the angle was awkward.
no subject
The guy's on the floor, groaning, and for Ianto that's enough. He's not going to hit a man while he was down, that would be wrong.
Despite that, though, two men grab him and drag him back, one saying "Hey, c'mon now, that's enough!" he doesn't fight against them, though.
no subject
"Oi, let go!" she yelled, giving the man hauling her away a light shove, but one more calculated to free herself than to try and start up any further fights. "You all right, Ianto?"
no subject
Bah, his stomach hurt, but he wasn't going to tell Tosh that.
He held up his hands in a passive gesture and he was released. "I'm fine babe, and you?" He raised an eyebrow at the man holding Tosh, a warning gesture that he should let her go.
