"No, probably not, but it can't hurt to look. I suddenly miss all the resources I had available back home," he said. When you owned a company the size of his, something you needed was always made by something you owned.

"I came down here a lot when I first arrived here. I'd buy something, fix it up, then turn and sell it for a profit."

Tosh laughed. "I used to do the same, except I didn't sell any of my stuff. Just fiddled around and made things for myself or the flat, or occasionally for someone else if they asked."

She looked thoughtfully at piece of mid-twentieth-century radio equipment, and added, "Still do, actually. And you're absolutely right, it can't hurt at all to have a look. Down here, who knows what you might come across."

"What can I say, I'm just a greedy American businessman," Tony said with a wink as he eyed several random components. The problem with being as brilliant as he was was that he always thought he could make something better himself.

"I'm just waiting for the day I find something I designed from my world down here."

"Oh, that'd be brilliant if you did! Wonder if there's any chance of any Torchwood artifacts winding up down here."

She didn't figure it was likely -- and in all honesty, she'd feel honor bound to snatch them up and turn them over to Jack anyway. But still, there were a couple of things from back at the Hub she'd have loved to get her hands on.

"I did take commissions for pay," Tosh pointed out. "But I'm selfish, I like to keep my toys to myself."

"I'd definitely want some sort of monetary compensation or at least proof that it was purchased through legal means in my world," Tony added, half seriously. He could never fully shut of the businessman aspect of himself.

"You could always just build two of everything," he suggested.

"You are greedy," Tosh teased, jabbing him lightly with her elbow as moved past. "I suppose I could do that, I hadn't really thought much about it. I never did anything like this for money before, it was always for someone else. Though I think there are enough mechanics and engineers in town that I don't really need to saturate the market. And I've got a full time job now, which means I can contribute something toward my upkeep."

"I just want what's rightfully mine," he said with a shrug. He knew Tosh really didn't think he was, but it was a common enough misconception. "The money is just... a way to keep score. Heh, and that's why I'm so good at it, because everyone else who's smart enough to make things doesn't think to make money off of it."

Tosh didn't really think so, but she didn't want Tony to feel bad about what she'd said regardless. So she turned back toward him and reached for his hand, standing up on her toes to kiss him.

"And you should make money off your ideas. They're brilliant."

Tony smiled a bit and leaned down to kiss Tosh. She really was bad for his ego, flattering him like that. But he had to admit he did like it.

"Yours are brilliant too you know."

"I know," she answered cheekily. "But mine don't have much public application. And I'm not much of a saleswoman."

Tony chuckled and leaned down to kiss her again. "They could have public application if they were allowed to. But you're the men in black and all that so you're not allowed to."

"Ooh, the men in black, I like that," Tosh grinned. "It definitely makes me feel a little better about not being able to share my amazing technological genius with the world."

She squeezed his hand and then headed for the counter to pay for her purchases. "Have you found anything useful?"

"Yes, very secretive and beyond the government and what not," he said with a nod as he followed her up to the counter.

"And no, nothing really. I didn't come down with a really definite list in mind though."

"Yes, so secretive that around Cardiff we're known as 'bloody Torchwood'," Tosh joked, with a wry smile. She contemplated offering to pay extra to have her purchases delivered to the flat, but wasn't sure if Tony would be offended that she didn't expect him to carry the stuff for her.

"Not a single thing that caught your fancy?"

"You need one of those memory altering things," he said, mimicking the action. "Then you could make everyone think you just... made donuts or something like that."

Tony glanced around the place once again and shrugged his shoulders. "Eh, I need to sit down and make a list of what all I need and what all I'll need to make what I need."

"We do, it's called Retcon. We had to dose every single person at Gwen's wedding with it."

Tosh knew for a fact she'd been dosed a couple of times herself too. She'd always wondered what memories she was missing.

"That might make finding it a little easier," Tosh agreed. "Do I have this box of things delivered, or do I ask you to play pack mule for me?"

Tony gave her an amused look. Retcon essentially sounded like some sort of date rape drug that a bunch of Star Trek nerds invented.

"So perhaps you've conducted all sorts of interesting experiments with me and I've forgotten all about them?" he asked. "And I'll carry your things for you."

"I guess you'll have to trust me," Tosh replied, smiling up at him. "Besides, it's not foolproof, Gwen broke through it. Although I've always suspected Jack didn't give her a full dose."

She grinned gratefully at him. "I thought you might. So then it's off to the wine store now?"

"Maybe I'll just have to not be a gentleman and start turning off the security cameras when the clothes start to come off," he replied with a wink. Smiling, he took her box of purchases and moved towards the door.

"Off the the wine store indeed."

Tosh blushed a bit at the idea of the cameras being on, but the color was maybe partly due to the realization that she probably didn't mind as much as she should have. Maybe she did have a teeny little exhibitionist streak after all.

Moving to walk beside Tony, Tosh rested her hand on his arm momentarily, since his own hands were full. "And I'll bet you've already ordered dinner, haven't you?" she teased.

Tony chuckled a bit at the blush but didn't say anything about it. It was far too amusing to just watch her. Maybe he could work on convincing her to let him tape just one time. Of course, with how she surprised him he might not even have to work at it.

"I have," he said with a nod. "I figured why waste time, right?"

"I think you do it because you like to show off that you can," Tosh remarked, looking up with a little grin. "Did you get something spicy?"

"Well, maybe just a little," he admitted, giving a bit of a shrug. It was odd though how... little all the connections here felt. Back home he had an entire world to connect to.

"But it does come in handy."

"Yes it does," Tosh agreed. "Makes me a bit envious sometimes. Though I can't decide whether I'm more jealous of the fact that you can connect to everything that way, or the fact that there's always something else hovering on the edge of your attention."

"It definitely took some getting used to," Tony admitted with a bit of a shrug. "I don't even know if I fully understand all I'm capable of. So much of my thinking is rooted in how I was before I could be completely missing an aspect or application of my abilities. I haven't really had much time to run any tests."
