log; complete
When; Between April 1st and April 2nd, after this
Rating; uh...probably not above pg?
Characters; Doumeki Shizuka
monsterepellant and Watanuki Kimihiro
monsterattractr
Summary; Angst, angst and moar angst. because it's tasty. After an angsty fight of EPIC proportions, Doumeki goes off to the archery range. Watanuki tags along for the ride.
Log;
The day had gone from generally alright, to bad, to worse, to just plain suck. Doumeki did not want to think about it right now, and the fight from before left his nerves slightly frazzled. It was a sensation he didn't like, as he stalked off toward the archery range, silently, long legs eating up distance as he put space between him and Rosette and Ishida.

"...what did Kohane say after we got back to the shop?"
no subject
Kohane-chan.
And he had just left her...
"Don't ask me that," he said, scowling over at the archer, adding with a usual tone of his orneriness, "You're just trying to change the subject! Stop that...if you're not going to tell me anything else just SAY so...it's not like you're usually ALL THAT TALKATIVE ANYWAY!" It escalated to be a more normal yell and led to him turning to jab his....whatever Doumeki was....in the chest, none too lightly either.
What the hell?
He found himself grabbing Doumeki's collar: you aren't that clever, was the translation.
Watanuki hated being in the dark...and he did not want to talk about Kohane-chan right now. She...would be fine. She was strong.
At this thought, his grip on Doumeki's shirt faltered slightly but not quite enough to release.

"She'll be alright."

"OF COURSE SHE'LL BE ALRIGHT, I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT HER YOU MORON, I---"
Crap.
He let go of Doumeki's collar like one burned, shot him a furious glare and backed up about two yards.
Elbow space.
Room.
Whatever.

"I'll be fine, too."
And with that he turned, heading towards the archery range.

And then without thinking again he found himself running after the biggest jerk of all time.
"I don't get you," he lied with a rough exhale as he caught up, breathing uneven as he slowed, staying a hand at his side to keep it from covering his chest. Was it too much to hope that coming here would eradicate the strange drowsiness and tendency to tire quickly?
Apparently a cost too high.
Stupid universe, screw you too. Geez.
"Jerk," he grumbled. Worried? HA.
Not even...
...okay not even going there.
Yep.
Not worried. Just...seeking details, better understanding, from the source.
That was all.
Hn.

He cooked for this guy?
What. A. Waste.
"Where's the range anyway?" he asked, looking around, arms folding across his chest as he peered in various directions for any sign of such a place.

Awkward? Slightly. Useful? Absolutely.

This place.
"That's too convenient," was his criticism, dry and lofty as he stood by and waited for the archer to do his thing, gathering his thoughts and trying to pick a question to ask. He had just had a million.
Where did they all go?
Damn it.

"What did he do exactly?" he asked at last and didn't bother to say 'Joshua' because who else could he possibly be talking about...really.

"I do," he affirmed, glancing up this time, resting his hands on his knees as he tried to better organize and order his questions....the ones left over.

He had asked. He did not regret asking. He really did want to know. But that...all of that.
"And she did nothing?" was all he could manage and it was grit out between clenched teeth, looking pointedly away from the archer, shoulders hunched and head down.
Whoever this Joshua was or wasn't....that wasn't....there was no excuse.
