"We're lucky the weather's agreeable tonight. Can you imagine the disaster if it rained?"
Open
"Everybody would have gone nuts if it had, I think."
Open
"A lot of wet tuxedo pants and taffetta. Although that might have been interesting too."
Open
"Despite all the complaints of ruined clothes?"
Open
Kyle turned his head and grinned.
Open
"Do you spend a lot of your time doing that?"
Open
"Oh yes," he said, seriously. "In fact, I'm doing it right now."
Open
"I shouldn't be surprised, should I?"
Open
Open
"I assure you, I'd look like nothing more than a drowned rat."
Open
And then he shivered. Quite deliberately.
Open
"You'd probably be disappointed then. Because really, I'd looked like a drowned rat." He smiled to show that it was a bit of a joke."
Open
Open
"I hope you know what you're doing."
Open
"No, sir," he confessed as he drew closer. "I don't have a damn clue."
Open
"Now is not a good time to call me sir."
Open
Open
"I believe you know my name."
Open
"Ianto..."
He liked saying it out loud. Even if the amount of want in his voice was enough to make him flush with embarassment.
Open
"And I think... I think calling you Kyle might be a good idea."
Open
Open
"I'm sure you're going to tell me."
Open
Kyle reached up to trace the curve of those lips lightly with a finger.
"If you kissed me right now."
Open
"One dance and you already want a kiss?" He still smiled, showing Kyle it wasn't a refusal.
Open
And he was still waiting.
