Open;
When; Monday, October 12. Early evening.
Rating; PG
Characters; Tony Foster (
darkest0knight ) and anyone Tony has spoken to and made friends with is welcome.
Summary; It's Tony's first real Thanksgiving and Eden is cooking so naturally he's invited the whole city to crowd into the apartment.
Log;
It had started out as just a nod to the holidays, like it usually was back in Vancouver when Tony didn't really know anyone to have Thanksgiving with (Zev was Jewish, Amy was...well, Amy) and Henry, of course, couldn't eat a turkey which was the whole point of the holiday in the first place. He'd had turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce and bought a pumpkin pie from the bakery and watched movies until it was late enough to call Henry and have some company. This year was different.
Automatically, it was different because he was in the City, but it was also different because Tony had friends. And friends who could cook, no less! And Victory was here and not a vampire and thus could sit at a dinner table and not growl at Henry when he came over. So Tony was excited and had probably bought too many cans of vegetables and sticks of butter but that was okay.
He just hoped he had enough plate settings.
[ooc: If your character is a friend of Tony's feel free to assume he invited you to Thanksgiving. Since I, myself, am hosting Thanksgiving at the moment, I probably won't be able to respond to threads until later tonight but feel free to have characters mingle!]

Open to all - this will not end well
Didn't change the fact that he showed up with three bottles of the best red wine he had at Victrola, those damn rolls Tony demanded and tiny hope that this would not end in a disasster.
Open to all - this will not end well - Let's totally screw with the time line shall we?
This time, the nurse was juggling a handful of pies and other delicacies for dessert!
Open to all - this will not end well - ffffff timeline, who needs it?
He walked up to the man and looked at the pies, wondering if any of those was a pumpkin pie Blair liked so much.
"You need help with those?"

Open to all - going out with a bang?
She waved brightly when he came in the door, tucking a strand of hair back from her face. He probably wouldn't remember her, but that was okay. She was pretty sure worse things had, in fact, happened.

But there are enough buns and different kinds of bread to feed an army.
Bother her at your own peril.

Seeing Eden in the kitchen... was fascinating. He leaned against the doorframe. It was like a trainwreck. You knew it was bad for you, but you couldn't look away.

The buns looked tempting. So did the gravy. Tony reached a finger out to sneak a taste.

That said, she didn't expect to know anyone besides Tony (and Thom if he behaved himself and showed up like a good little nurse) and while Tara had come a very long way from the awkward, stuttering wallflower of freshman year, she was still a bit shy around people she didn't know. So she accepted the glass of wine someone or other pressed into her hand, but stayed mostly unobtrusive, off to the side of the room where she wouldn't butt into anyone's conversations.
Open~
"Thanks for coming," he said, a grin twitching the corners of his mouth. "I think that's one of Victrola's best vintages there. Chuck doesn't skimp."

Open like an Open thing!
Still, he didn't arrive till probably after the main courses had been enjoyed, a combination of the emergency work shift at the hospital, baking the pies and of course getting dressed for dinner. Because he was dressed up, in a nice suit and tie.
He carried three pies through the door, a hazelnut pumpkin (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sunny-anderson/hazelnut-pumpkin-pie-recipe/index.html) pie, a strawberry-rhubarb pie (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-challenge/grandmas-strawberry-rhubarb-pie-recipe/index.html) and finally a pie involving (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/my-buddy-dans-mile-high-chocolate-and-butterscotch-parfait-pie-recipe2/index.html) more chocolate and butterscotch than was good for anyone's arteries.
The last one was his apology pie to Tony.
Open like an Open thing!
When he came back out he was flushed from the heat of the kitchen, eyes sparkling with the excitement of the evening.
"Hey, you made it," he said, hand open to take a pie from Thom's juggling hands.

"Good to see you again," she says as a greeting.

Open, but expecting a few people who probably know who they are...
She, too, had brought some nice wines and separating from Niko for the moment, she went off in search of a host to give them too.
Open,
Tony came over to welcome her with a smile.
"Hey," he said, "thanks for coming."

When he returned to his apartment, Henry wondered briefly about the dog. He knew that people these days liked to include their pets in holiday celebrations, but did he really want her underfoot if things went poorly between him and Promise? No, he decided. He would leave Mary home. So it was he soon found himself, alone knocking on Tony's door. The aroma of food might have been overwhelming, had he not chosen to focus on the scents of Tony's guests instead. Another vampire might have considered retreating from the gathering of strangers and the awkwardness of a dinner party, but Henry loved Tony and Vicki and would not disappoint them.

"You missed Charlie Brown," he admonished with a grin as he ushered the other man into the apartment.

Waiting until the vampire was free, Thom stepped around a small group and over to the man.
"Good evening, Mr. Fitzroy."

She approached him head on, not wanting even the impression of sneaking up on him, and waited from a distance for him to notice her.

There were also a lot of people here that she didn't really know. Most of the people where friend's of Tony's but since she hadn't really met them yet, she had long since retreated to the safety of the couch. She was never the best at mingling.

For Tony; SORRY FOR LATENESS!
"Happy Thanksgivings," she tells Tony, a raised glass of water as a greeting.
For Tony; SORRY FOR LATENESS!
At Canadian Thanksgivings, you also had to scoop out your own slice of pie. It was just how it was done.
