Log, complete

When; Monday 18th, afternoon
Rating; PG
Characters; Aya ([livejournal.com profile] onceaweiss) and Umi ([livejournal.com profile] soulofocean)
Summary; After breaking free from the Saw trap where they were stuck together these two decide to be the worst hospital patients in the history of The City.
Log;
They'd told her he was alright. That he was evolving fine -- extremely well for the kind of wounds he'd taken. But ask her if their word was enough. Umi felt each hour she spent stuck in that bed was an eternity. The Network device she'd all but bullied the medical staff into letting her have back wasn't doing much to fix this. Instead it kept her restless, delivering a parade of awful news from that nightmarish weekend. Hearing Aya's voice had helped a lot, but it still wasn't the same. The Water Knight understood that if he felt as weak and wobbly as she did it might well take a while for them to see each other in person like she needed them to.

The nurse wasn't cooperating even under the threat of getting soaked, chilled to the bone, or even yelled at. That awful curse had kept Fuu away since Sunday night, and in any case Umi doubted her sister could have done much about the situation.

...But she swore that if it took more than an hour longer all bets were off. She didn't care who she had to coerce into it. She WAS going to check on Aya even if she had to fight the entire hospital security to drag herself to his room. All caution be damned. After that hell of a weekend she needed to be sure of this more than she needed any further medical attention.

Well, he was going to get caught by her sooner or later. It might as well be now. So, Aya just shook his head a little. "I was specifically told I wasn't allowed to be out of bed yet. I decided I was going to get out so I could come rest in this room instead."

Maybe it would convince the idiots that they needed to be in the same room. If nothing else, it would be worth a shot.

"I'm fine though. I promise. Nothing is strained and I'm not bleeding."

"I thought this would be the easiest way to convince them that we need to room together." It was going to be the easiest way to get them both to rest and to be in better moods. That much should have been fairly obvious as far as Aya was concerned. Then again, most people weren't quite as observant about that particular detail.

"It will all work out. I promise it will."

And since he wasn't one for breaking promises, he would make sure that one was not broken for any reason.

"I know. It wasn't a good weekend." What an understatement that was. However, Aya couldn't think of a better way to put it. Because really, that was the best way.

"So, do you want your bed closer to the window or the door?" He gave her a warm smile as he looked down at her. Even sitting here on the bed, he was the taller of the two.

"I doubt me being by the door will be much better after I already got up to walk over here."

Aya glanced over at the window. "I don't think they'll expect us to be using the window, after all." Down the hall, he heard someone shout that he was gone. He couldn't help but to smile a little more.

"I think they found out I'm gone."

Aya just shook his head. Really, she didn't need to be so serious. He wasn't going to go anywhere. Even injured, he could take down any doctors that tried to remove him. Of course, they wouldn't at this point.

He'd see to that.

"Considering how we've been talking about each other, I don't think it's going to take them that long to figure out I walked myself over here."

"Umi. It will be fine." Aya gave her a reassuring smile and glanced over at the door. He doubted he was giving these people too much credit. Yes, they'd royally screwed up by not having them in the same room in the first place but they weren't that stupid from what he could tell.

And sure enough, a nurse ran over and popped her head in before shouting out into the hallway that she'd found him.

"And what did I say?"

[identity profile] onceaweiss.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
The staff stared at them in shock. Get them the room made up for them both? Such a shocking concept. Aya smiled a little and just nodded his agreement.

Naturally there were some protests. This wasn't his room. He should go back.

He shook his head slowly.

"No. I would like to be where I can keep an eye on Umi."

"My sister does have a point." The sister part got their attention and they stared at them. Of course, they weren't actually siblings but they didn't need to know that. And Aya wasn't likely to correct what he'd said.

"You'll keep us both in our beds and we will recover faster to be out of your hair."

They'd certainly be able to rest knowing that they could see each other. That was saying something when it came to the two of them. Perhaps he should have said Umi was his 'sister' sooner.

Someone gasped because...how could they have missed that? Aya knew he'd never actually called her his sister before but she might as well be a second little sister. He knew he treated her like one.

Like he would Aya if he could see her...

One of the doctors gave the order to start fixing the room up to include another bed and he looked at Umi.

"I think we won."

"Weapons? I don't have mine." Aya let that sink in before adding something else to it.

"I don't need one though." That darker undertone was very intentional. And it helped to get them to move faster. Which was what he'd been expecting them to do.

[identity profile] onceaweiss.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
"The window has noticed that you still have your magic, Umi." Quite obviously based on those cracks. It was going to need to be repaired. But first, Aya watched them prepare the room. Already they were adding another bed.

"I think I'm going to be asked to move over soon."

[identity profile] onceaweiss.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Aya gave a small laugh and nodded. "You're right."

Waiting, he finally got up when the bed was in place and went to get in it. Right away, he was fussed over and covered with a blanket, pillows adjusted, IV put in. It was ridiculous really.

"I think I'm comfortable now."
