There are a number of bars in the City.  The Blue Light is one of the busier ones and, on the weekends, it's at its busiest. 

This Saturday is no exception.  Drinking, dancing, flirting--if it's legal, it's happening (and if it's questionably legal, it's probably happening more discretely; this is one of the nicer bars the City has to offer, after all).  Whether you're a social drinker on a night out with your friends, a hardcore partier who habitually clears your Sunday schedule, or just there to drink the last of the desert away, you'll be in good company.

"Yeah, pretty damn glad things are back to normal here too."

He takes a sip of his whiskey.

She looked at his whiskey and shook her head. "Weeks like these I think I ought to reconsider my stance on not drinking. Then again, half a glass of that and I'd probably be holding down the floor."

Dean chuckles at that. "it's not a starter sort of drink."

Which is to say Dean has been drinking for a very long time. The last few years, a good deal more than he probably should.

"Yeah, sadly, a whole beer would do about the same to me," she said with a grin. "Gave it up back in college when I had to much to drink, forgot the whole secrecy or death thing, and told my friends I was raised by werewolves and could talk to ghosts. Luckily, they thought I was just a little nuts that day."

"I've never been the chatty sort when I'm drinking."

Nope. he gets broody, particularly on whiskey.

"Lucky you." She raised her glass to him before taking a sip of her soda. "Here's to losing my guy and quitting my job."

He toasts her.

"You quit your job?"

He knows better than to comment on the losing someone you love thing.

"Yeah." Mercy took a drink. "I didn't intend to, but Saya got all in my personal business and when I asked her to stop she wouldn't. Then she asked if I would attack her if she didn't."

She shook her head. "I said no, worst case I'd have to quit and she said I should because she didn't plan to stop. I couldn't quite believe it, but... yeah, I ended up quitting."

Dean snorts a bit and takes a sip of his drink. "Yeah, probably for the best. Sounds like shit for a boss though."

He doesn't know Saya at all and really can't form any sort of opinion on her.

"She's just... odd."

"But no employer gets to stick their nose into my personal business." Mercy sighed and took another drink. "I should have quit when she got annoyed with me and did this 'bark, bark, little dog,' thing at me."

Dean quirks an eyebrow at Mercy and nods. "Yeah, I woulda been gone then."

Mercy laughed a little ruefully. "I know, I know. I just really wanted to be able to work with cars. I miss it, you know?"

"Gotta be other places that need their cars fixed. There's a few here in the City."

"I'll manage." She shrugged and took another drink. "I'm going to build Derek a motorcycle and I'll just have to make some trips Underground to find parts for other stuff."

[dudeimbatman]

"Sounds like that'll keep you busy for a little while."

And really that's the important part in this place: staying busy.

"That's the plan. Too much free time and you start thinking about things you don't want to think about."
