[OPEN]

Who: Everyone!
What: Drinking!
When: March 3rd
Where: The Blue Light
Rating: Let's say R (I'll edit if... things happen)

Note(s): Party time!  Tag all over the place, threadjack, make new friends, forget new drinking buddies--have fun!

There are a number of bars in the City.  The Blue Light is one of the busier ones and, on the weekends, it's at its busiest.

This Saturday is no exception.  Drinking, dancing, flirting--if it's legal, it's happening (and if it's questionably legal, it's probably happening more discretely; this is one of the nicer bars the City has to offer, after all).  Whether you're a social drinker on a night out with your friends, a hardcore partier who habitually clears your Sunday schedule, or just there to drink the last of the desert away, you'll be in good company.

This is Peter's first bar of the night. His goal - as usual - is to get as drunk as possible. And he's off to a good start. Several empty shot glasses are in front of him.

"BARKEEP!" he shouts. "MORE!"

The desert thing was hard, okay? And Buffy has a new room mate and she could use a drink or six. The life of a slayer is hard so she's there and she's dressed up and she's actually full of confidence about the way she looks.

Of course that could be the three shots of tequila she did immediately upon arriving at the bar.

Euphie isn't exactly the bar type or the drinking type. In fact she probably looks a little out of place in her dress and long, pink hair, quaffed as it is behind her ears. Still, she enjoys spending time with Tommy. Not that it's a date. Much. And she likes talking to others, so she's here doing both and maybe there will be a drink or two too.

In an unbroken tradition of teenaged owners - Edmund owns the bar. He's sitting behind the bar, watching the crowd, surveying. After all the sand he was a little surprised to see it back, but pleased, too - after all, this bar may not be his the way it belonged to the original owner, but it's his now, a memory of his brother and Caspian.

He is definitely comfortable where he is.

Lucy has been moping. Her best friend went home and her flat turned to glass and she's just not done well. All of this means that she needs a night out. Lucky for her, she's fairly self aware and she's dressed up in something bright and very short, done her hair and dragged herself to the Blue Light. She's the blonde at the bar drinking mint juleps. Come say hi.

Dean always needs a drink. It's one of those constant things with him, so he's there at the bar with a glass of scotch and he's kind of annoyed at all these new people showing up. Come say hi to Mr. Grumpy Pants! He won't mind. Really.

Judith rarely drinks, but tonight she's at the bar nonetheless. For the moment she's sitting alone, sipping at what remains of some mixed drink or another, casually watching the rest of the inhabitants of the bar.

If you're drinking for fun then you're not taking it seriously enough. However, even the serious drinkers have their good nights. Chase has made a start before stopping in at this point on the crawl, but for once he's in a good mood with it - miraculously (nearly literally) recovered from the dengue fever, making easy conversation with the girl behind the bar to the detriment of anyone else waiting to be served.

If there's one thing that Amorys has learned in the City is that big curses, big events, draw overwhelming crowds, and after three years in the city, he's got this post sand-ageddon crowd down. The drink orders fly out as fast he makes them. It's like a game for him: try and make the job fun by turning it into a one-man race.

"Can'ya get me another screwdriver," shouts a voice over the roaring crowd.

"Only if you can walk yourself out this time without breaking your nose, George," Amory retorts, the sarcasm out in full tonight.

The older man laughs gruffly, as Amory fashions another screwdriver--- a screwdriver that he'd rather be drinking himself right now. But another thing he's learned is that when you keep yourself busy, even at the wellspring of liquor and spirits, you're less liable to drink. In fact, Amory the drunkard has only had two tonight.

Olivia will claim that the only reason she's out here is to avoid the ticking, but the truth is that she's interested in all of you. Yes, you, residents of the City. She tries not to play the FBI agent all the time, but Olivia can't resist her investigating tendencies. Who are you people? What worlds do you come from? What are they like? How could you help me save my world?

These are questions that will never leave her lips. Confidentiality agreements, you see. But that won't stop her from secretly fishing facts out amidst innocent conversation. Also, Olivia hasn't been to a celebration of any sort in years, minus Walter Bishop's birthday custard, and that's not even an exaggeration.

So there, at the end of the bar, Olivia sits nursing her vodka tonic, a little distanced from the noisy crowd in the center of the bar.

He wasn't really here to drink - it tended to go straight through him, after all. Literally, considering the gaping hole in his side. But it was interesting to watch the people of the City. While he usually did so while hidden in the shadows and staying invisible so that he could pick pockets, the news of a party had caught his attention.

Pardon the zombie in a corner. At least he's mostly covered up by armor.

For the second time in a week, Penny finds herself at a bar. Also for the second time, she finds herself alone, drinking a Shirley Temple, and missing her crazy art school days when she actually felt comfortable at bars.

At least sitting alone at a bar and drinking something nonalcoholic is slightly less pathetic than sitting alone at the apartment she now shares with Euphie. Even with the dog, the ticking was driving her a little bit nuts. Fortunately, the ever-present sound of the clock is almost drowned out in the crowded bar.
