There are a number of bars in the City.  The Blue Light is one of the busier ones and, on the weekends, it's at its busiest. 

This Saturday is no exception.  Drinking, dancing, flirting--if it's legal, it's happening (and if it's questionably legal, it's probably happening more discretely; this is one of the nicer bars the City has to offer, after all).  Whether you're a social drinker on a night out with your friends, a hardcore partier who habitually clears your Sunday schedule, or just there to drink the last of the desert away, you'll be in good company.

He nods and breaks off to head to the bar, leaving her to pick seats.

It doesn't really matter how quick Tommy is, the crowd at the bar has other ideas. It's a little while before he catches up with her, drinks in hand. For now, he's lucky enough to have caught a bartender who took him on his word-- or maybe didn't care-- and he hands her a mojito.

She takes it with a smile. "Thank you." She peers at it quizzically. "What kind of leaves are those?"

"Mint. And limes," he adds, though maybe that's a little easier to tell. Tommy's just got a beer, which he will nurse for a long while. "Tell me what you think."

She takes a sip and smiles. "What an unexpected flavor. It's nice though. Very refreshing I think."

He just smiles.

"We picked a busy night to come out," Tommy says with a casual glance around the bar. Come out as opposed to go out, because, you know, they're not out on a date, technically.

Are dates so scary?

"Maybe everyone is just enjoying having everything opaque and solid and wanted to celebrate?"

Commitment is pretty scary.

"I guess. It's not a bad reason to celebrate."

Making decisions that affect others is scary too.

"I completely agree." She lifts her drink. "To... having sand only at the beach?"

"And walls that aren't see-through."

The sharp clink of glasses together is appropriate punctuation. Back to normal might not mean much here, but it's still a relief.

"How'd things go over here, after I went back?"

"Some of the curses were a little stranger with the glass surroundings, but... Well, you heard the only time I was cursed." She blushes a little. At least it wasn't something physical.

"It came out pretty garbled," he says quietly, glancing away for a fraction of a second as he does. He isn't lying, but well, he is trying to spare her feelings a little bit.

"Yes, it seemed to." There is a faint blush and she takes a drink to distract herself in hopes of it receding.

Tommy doesn't blush. Like, ever. He just nods a little and glances away again.

"I hope I didn't embarrass anyone."

"With that kind of curse, you probably caught the worst of it yourself."

She nods. "The reactions were a little surprising." She wants to change the topic! And yet here she is on this topic!

"Having a break from curses isn't so bad, but the desert wasn't worth it."

Almost a topic change. Not that he really wants to discuss that, either.

"Maybe someday we'll have a break without anything like that. I wonder if it would seem dull now."

[team_sociopath]

"Well, there weren't many curses after I came back from home? I think after a while it's kind of... you know, you end up just waiting to see what's gonna happen."

"Or you start making things happen."

[team_sociopath]

"Or that."

"You seem more like that sort of person."

[team_sociopath]

"I don't like being bored."

[deadly_legacy]

"What do you like?" Sipping her drink.

[team_sociopath]

"Keeping busy." A little curl at the corner of his lip. "Getting away with stuff. And saving the world is pretty cool, I guess."
