Who: Everyone!
What: Drinking!
When: March 3rd
Where: The Blue Light
Rating: Let's say R (I'll edit if... things happen)
Note(s): Party time! Tag all over the place, threadjack, make new friends, forget new drinking buddies--have fun!
There are a number of bars in the City. The Blue Light is one of the busier ones and, on the weekends, it's at its busiest.
This Saturday is no exception. Drinking, dancing, flirting--if it's legal, it's happening (and if it's questionably legal, it's probably happening more discretely; this is one of the nicer bars the City has to offer, after all). Whether you're a social drinker on a night out with your friends, a hardcore partier who habitually clears your Sunday schedule, or just there to drink the last of the desert away, you'll be in good company.

She grins at him, tucking her bottom lip between her teeth. She takes a deep breath when he crushes the mint because she loves the scent of mint. It reminds her of her mother's garden at home.
She purses her lips and twists them to one side, tapping her chin with her fingers as she regards him and that grin the busts into a short laugh.
"If you smile like that, yes. I'll probably also offer you the couch to sleep on and the keys to my safe."

It should be impossible to look innocent and a little bit wicked simultaneously, but with wide blue eyes and a sharp quirk to the corner of his mouth, the doctor very nearly pulls it off.
"Only the couch?"
no subject
"That, Doctor Chase, depends entirely on how the rest of your tour progressed."

His drink is finished in a couple of swallows, warm at the back of his throat.
"Although I haven't been here that long. If there's anywhere in the city you're fond of, I'd love to let you guide me."

She swirls the straw around in her drink and takes a sip. "But, here, I've got a boyfriend so you're going to have to settle for flirty tour guide."

The honest truth that he's lonely as hell and physical contact without emotional connection might be a band-aid on an open wound.
The lie on his face turns into a wry smile and he nods. "I'll take that. But if your boyfriend's bigger than me, you might want to get the flirting cleared first."
no subject
"Oh come on, I'll buy you a drink." She bumps his shoulder with hers. Physical contact without the emotional connection is almost always a bandaid, whether it's on an open wound or scar tissue and band aids are usually right up Lucy's alley. She's only just begun admitting Neil is her boyfriend the last couple of months.
His last comment gets a giggle out of her as well. "I think we're covered on all points. Neil knows I flirt. It's sort of like breathing with me. Or the way breathing used to be. Anyway, it's what I do. It's the getting naked with people thing we have to worry about."

Joke, joke. She's taken and that's not a point he's going to push. But his demeanour changes - slightly, but not imperceptibly - catching that throwaway comment.
"Used to be?"
If she doesn't block the movement, he reaches to curl his hand under the corner of her jaw, the quickest measure of body temperature and pulse. And of course, all the joking about visiting her in Alabama - unlikely as it ever was - fades into the impossible.
"I'm sorry. Here or at home?" and, as the personal nature of the question (he's too used to asking them in clinic) registers, he adds, "Or I can shut up while you get the drinks in."

He's cute, funny and charming. He's not insane or likely to treat her poorly. He's actually a good life decision. Okay, so one night stand but still, in Lucy's world, he's a good life decision.
She doesn't block the movement. She even tilts her head to the side to make it easier on him. She's comfortable with being touched. She smiles at him sort of sadly.
"Here. I was kidnapped and murdered." Also tortured and something horrid done to her body that Castiel refuses to tell her about. "It's okay. If I were at home, I'd be dead for real so..." she finishes the sentence with a shrug. She hates being dead. She hates not having a body temperature and constantly being cold. She hates how quiet her body is without a heartbeat or the need to breathe but she likes that she's still 'alive' so to speak.

He has dead patients. He has patients who are killers, something he can rationalise, here, by their need to eat. Kidnap and torture aren't the kind of games he has sympathy for.
Dying here is real, it's just a different reality. If he'd-
He'd still be a murderer if the guy woke up the next day.
Chase draws his hand back, brushing his fingers down her neck. It's not a come on. Something like sympathy.
"Though I admit, I'm glad it wasn't the back-home alternative either. Would have cut this conversation a lot shorter."
no subject
She orders two more drinks and finishes up the one in her hand. "And it's a conversation I like too much to cut it short."
no subject
"I can't argue with your technique. I've visited shut-ins, though." and he pauses for a drink to punctuate the point, "Let me tell you, half a dozen cats is a mild case."
no subject
She giggles a little and shrugs. "I guess I'll start small them. And if I ever need a shut in visit, I know who to call."
