Xanadu is buzzing this afternoon with with food stands and booths with games to play and trinkets to sell or win. There are a couple of stages where people play instruments, sing, juggle, and otherwise entertain.

People donated money, time and materials to bring everything together. Some areas are very polished and professional while others have more of a homemade touch, but it blends together nicely and there is a little something for everyone. A little further from the main attractions there is space for relaxing or playing a game of frisbee or catch.

As the evening settles upon the City, paper lanterns light up an outdoor dance floor and a band plays a range of music from romantic to spirited. There are also tables set up for those who would prefer to star or people gaze.

[Euphie is smiling and looking around the lantern-lit dance floor. She's so happy how everything came together. She really thought it would be a much smaller thing, but people had been so helpful and encouraging. She might have gotten a little carried away herself, but it was nice just to help with something others could enjoy too. There would be a lot of cleaning up later on, but for right now her thoughts were on the music and who would be her next dance partner. She didn't expect to do a lot of sitting.]

[Justin doesn't dance. He's just there to see Euphie and to prove that, yes, he showed up, even if he isn't a particularly festive person.]

Justin! [Euphie is on a festival extravert high, so she moves immediately to hug her friend, excited that he was there.]

[Oh, hello. Justin returns the hug with all due awkwardness.] Are you having a good time?

[deadly_legacy]

[It's a much, much shorter hug than last time. She pulls back with a bright smile and nods. Only the awkwardness she noticed in him kept him from getting a kiss on the cheek to go with the hug.] I am. It's all going so much better than I'd hoped. Are you?

Good. [And skipping the kiss was probably a good call.] I'm... not having a bad time.

[She smiles a more specific sort of smile just for him—fond and teasing.] That sounds like something you'd say about a festival. Which is good since it was something you said about a festival.

Did you come to steal me for a dance?

[He has to smile back. Euphie makes it very hard to be miserable, especially when she's right.] What made you think I don't usually go to them?

[Good question.] Should I have?

[She likes seeing that smile. Nicer for how rare it can be.] I have my ways.

[She reaches a hand out for his, ready to step into the dancing area.] Of course. [She might do the stealing.]

[Euphie's hand gets the same look that a venomous snake might receive. He takes it gingerly.] Then I should warn you that I'm a terrible dancer, too.

[He was watching the periphery of the dance-floor, when he saw her. The long hair was eye-catching, that unnatural pink. He paused, smirking faintly. There was a familiar face.]

Hello, Ms. Britannia.

[There is a moment of surprise when she hears the familiar voice in person for the first time.] Oh, Karl. Hello. [The smile returns to her lips.] How are you this evening?

[If not greedy for real entertainment. The chaotic, violent, bloody sort. Unfortunately, under Solomon's 'supervision', he can't try anything rash. Instead, he extends a hand.]

It's a travesty, however, for such a lovely lady to be standing alone. Would you care to dance?

[There is only a slight hesitation before her hand touches down upon his in acceptance.] I would be honored.

You're gonna have to put me on your dance card eventually, Euphie girl.

[The voice comes from behind her, of course. And when she looks back there is a grinning Derek. He's gonna hug her cause that's what he does.] This is a pretty nice party. You did good.

[She hugs him back quite willingly.] You've been on my dance card all along. Would you expect less?

[A smile.] Thank you. I'm glad you think so. Everyone helped though. It was wonderful to see the interest.

[He's not going to be sitting down, but he will be standing off to the side watching everyone else dancing. Not because he didn't like dancing but because he pretty crappy at it.]

[She'll step over to him with a smile.] No dancing for you?

I've never danced before in my life. [Partial lie, but it isn't like she can tell. Right?]

How is that possible? [She can't, but she also can't believe it!]
