Charlie was married. Charlie McGee, the girl who couldn't get close to anyone back home for more reasons than she thought fair, found someone in the City to marry and that someone was, of all people, Merlin.

The ceremony itself had been nothing short of stunning, right in the center of Xanadu and even though she won't admit to it later (Except to Merlin because he had the best view of it), she teared up a few times during the ceremony. When it came time for vows, she was nervous, hands shaking slightly but when they were finally announced as husband and wife and Charlie could kiss Merlin, she suddenly felt so incredible about everything. All nervousness was gone and all she could feel was ridiculously happy.

Now at the reception, food and cake courtesy Rapunzel (And the dress, too), Charlie was busy speaking to guests and enjoying one of the most surreal moments of her life.

Pepper has to stop herself in the doorway, hands over her lips and almost tearing up.

Charlie looks over from where she'd been straightening part of the dress, eyes on the almost unrecognizable her in the mirror. When she hears Pepper, she grins, also almost tearing up some.

Tell no one.

"Thank you. And hi. I'm insanely happy you're here. Someone has to keep reminding me to breathe because I keep forgetting."

[Rapunzel has been helping Charlie get ready. Nothing special, just doing her hair and makeup and trying very hard not to cry tears of happiness about the whole thing.

The not crying tears of joy part isn't exactly working out.]

Charlie, you look absolutely amazing...!! Merlin's jaw is gonna drop when he sees you!

Charlie's calm enough. Hands reaching for a box of tissues nearby and holding it out very carefully for her. She was trying to not move too much. All this attention to face and hair was a bit much but Charlie was being good about the whole thing.

Except...

"I made a huge mistake not eating today." A pause. "And I want alcohol but I think that needs to wait until the reception."

[Alright, here we go! Zatanna's still bouncing around, cooing over how wonderful the dress is, but she eventually gets to the point where she stops being obnoxious and acts like an adult who is prepared to help get this gal down the aisle.

She clears her throat.] Okay! So what are we going for, hair-wise? Got any ideas? Photos? Or can we experiment? I'm magic, so we can try a hundred things and still have time!

[Z is the most adorable, bouncy person ever. Charlie's not sure what to do with it, but she's enjoying in all the same. Rapunzel had plans for her hair later, but Charlie had a few ideas in mind that would help with it later.]

Would it be weird to ask for it straightened? It's just...this weather isn't it's friend and I always just stuff it up into a ponytail. And the red is fading some.

The wedding stuff caught Theo's eyes for two reasons. One he recognized Charlie's name and two wedding. He was supposed to be doing that soon. Except, you know, circumstances. So, he sneaked in uninvited and poked around a bit.

"You must be the groom," he says when he spots Merlin, a lopsided smile on his face.

You know, spinning in circles isn't going to help you put that jacket on any faster.

Charlie'd had enough of waiting. She just needed to hear his voice, weird as that sounded. No one was in her dressing room anymore, except for her, so it was easy to sneak out.

The dress, however, wasn't making things easy on her. Nor were her shoes, so they were abandoned halfway down the hall.

There's a soft knock on Merlin's door and then Charlie says "It's me. Don't open it."

...that part sucks.

Now it was Raikov's turn to meet the groom. The tall Russian made his way over to Merlin, dressed in his Soviet uniform, complete with peaked cap. Yes, most people didn't wear their enforcement uniforms to weddings but he currently lacked his "evening dress," as some called them.

"Merlin, I assume?" He asked, looking down at the boy, quite obviously inspecting him.

[Saya understood to dress up for the occasion and wore a pink sundress, something she hopes will be okay. She doesn't quite get what "married" is, but she knows it was important to Charlie. So she tries to forget Karl's terrifying voice and how it was inside her head, and the strange woman named Diva who has her face, and smile for her friend.]

[So that's why even if she's sad and confused, she goes to to Charlie after the ceremony to say hello and show off a word she learned:] Congratu-lation. [...well, it's close.]

[Chekov has decided that he doesn't like weddings. ...Well, not weddings so much as marriage.

At home, marriage is very impractical for anyone who hopes to be a starship captain; in the City, it's even worse. 'Til death do us part has no meaning that is not strictly symbolical. Creating a bond such as marriage that could be broken in a day or a year and won't even be remembered outside of the City makes no sense to him, especially when it is between individuals who haven't known each other long. The whole thing strikes him as wholly ridiculous and a guarantee of future unhappiness.

But he did show up because he's Charlie's friend, and friends should be there for each other even when one is doing something nonsensical. Chekov can be found near the back, trying to decide whether congratulating Charlie would constitute a lie or simply be a polite thing to say.]

[Rain was nervous about being here, but very happy to have been invited. She hovered on the edge of the crowd, staying out of the way, but watching everything with a shy smile.]

Mercy had been thoroughly moved by the ceremony and had gone through more than one tissue. Now she was just hanging around watching the happy couple.

[Setsuna didn't want anything to do with weddings at the moment, but he went anyway, to support Charlie, and make sure there were white roses and growing flowers like there were supposed to be. He approached her and Merlin after, giving them a somewhat less than lackluster smile - it was the best he could summon, but it was still sincere, even if not his usual level of cheerful.]

Congratulations, Charlie. Sorry I didn't bring you a gift. [He leaned in, the attempt to give a light hug.]

[ he was proud to stand up for Merlin, proud to witness the license. He was quite frankly, simply proud.

Walking up to Merlin, he clapped him on the back. ] Congratulations, Merlin, Charlie. I wish you both the happiness you deserve. [ and then some ]

Charlie'd set up a video for Percy to be able to watch the ceremony. He did have a part in it, what with sending fireworks for later so it was only fair he got to see it somehow. Right?

Charlie'd taken the device and stepped away from the noisy reception for a moment, shortly after handing a box to someone and sending them on an errand.

Now? Now she had Percy to herself for a few minutes.

"I just sent a npc'd guest over to you with food from the reception and a slice of cake, too. How are you doing?"

He's sitting up in bed, still looking drawn, but clearly pleased to be part of the celebration in some small way.

"You look beautiful, Charlie. Congratulations again. I'm sorry I couldn't be there." He smiles, wan but genuine. "I'm as well as can be expected, thank you."
