Summary; Merlin is furious about Karl hurting Charlie and taking Saya, brings Arthur with him, runs into Setsuna and Kira who know where the hell to find the guy, and so they go on a rescue mission thingy. Kinda.

Running into Setsuna

[ It happened quickly, really. Merlin had gotten angry the day before, but there had been so much else that he just didn't know what to do. But when he woke up this morning, he did know, and it was so very simple. And it's obvious that he'll bring Arthur, because it's Arthur and the support would be nice.

Problem is, he has no idea where to go. He's fuming, he can hear his heartbeat in his ears, and he can't think clearly. He has no idea where Karl lives.

And it's probably because he can't think clearly that he almost runs into someone around the fountain. ]

Oh, sorry.

[ Sounding distracted, and with a crease to his forehead and clear anger in his eyes, he barely even spares Setsuna and Kira a glance. ]

[Setsuna and Kira had been headed somewhere, and it's not like the absentminded Setsuna was paying much attention to his own surroundings. He gave a sheepish smile after avoiding the almost run-in, only for his expression to shift quickly to concern. He didn't know Merlin too well, but due to his marriage to Charlie Setsuna could actually remember his name, and was easily concerned at seeing so much anger displayed by him.]

[He had seemed so much more mellow before. Granted, seeing Charlie's condition would enrage just about anyone close to her. Setsuna was pretty mad about it himself.]

Yo, Merlin. Where exactly are you going like this?

[ Arthur was brought up by the distinct lack of Merlin on his tail and turned around, recognizing Setsuna immediately. Stepping up to Merlin's side, he answered for him. ]

Going? We're going after Saya of course. [ and Merlin had a score to settle. ]

[ Oh, fine, he'll stop. For a little bit. ]

And Karl. He's not going to get away with this.

Funny. [Setsuna's expression goes cold, and he turns from concerned and amused that he was earlier to serious rather quickly.] We were headed that way ourselves.

We?

I do hope you're not thinking this is going to be a game. [ he doesn't mind the extra help but this is hardly a sporting matter. Lives were at stake and unless he's certain of your mettle, he won't be risking more then absolutely necessary to get the job done. ]

I have a feeling they're very aware. Now come on.

We, yeah, as in me and Kira. [Setsuna gestures to Kira behind, giving Arthur a bit of an annoyed look, lips tight. He had no issue with him before, but that kind of talk was aggravating.]

And you're assuming I might think this is a game? Why? Because of my age? [Merlin, sadly, goes without another glance, for the time.]

[ Arthur simply starts walking, heading off towards Diva's Palace and expecting to be followed. ]

You'd be surprised at how many people think they can swing a sword or shoot a bow that wouldn't know one end from the next. [ and many of those the very nobleman that were supposed to protect the crown and Camelot alike. Despicable ] As Karl is our opponent, I have no need for a liability hanging off my tail. As it is, we'll be lucky to get out of there alive.

Arthur and co. after splitting from Merlin

[ If there was any man Arthur trusted to do the job and get it done, it was Merlin, but it was with no great sense of unease that he left him to do the greater part of the distracting. Still, he'd hardly be a king if he couldn't rely on his men in a time of need.

Signaling with his hand, he pressed his back to the door and nodded to Setsuna ] You know this place better then the rest of us. Take the lead but be careful. We can't afford to be caught.

[ not when so much was hanging in the balance ]

Thing is...with these guys, they might already know we're here. Still, I'll do my best.

[Unfortunately, despite having been there before, there were plenty of things Setsuna didn't know about. Like where they might be keeping Saya. Or that there was a dungeon.]

[ he was afraid of that ] We'll still have to do our best. Just how many of them are there?

[ he knew of Karl. He knew of Diva (who didn't by now?). But the others? and then they run into Liam and Liam leads the way ]

Solomon and Nathan. And I think another female vampire lives here. I don't know how much they'd really get involved in this, though. Solomon's not been doing much of late.

[I am not opposed to this. Considering I have no idea how they'd know WHERE Saya is being kept.]

Then we're even worse off then I thought.

Very well. Keep to the shadows and whatever you do, keep moving. We've only one chance of this and the second they catch our trail, we're done for.

[ should we handwave Liam coming in or do you want Setsuna to see him working in some random room so he can ask directions/help? ]

[Setsuna laughs, lightly.] Don't be so dramatic. If they notice, I'll just say I'm here to visit. Wouldn't be the first time.

[Might be less effort to just handwave it? Go with your desires!]

[ he freezes up and looks over his shoulder ] So you have been here before. Were you always this friendly, or just before they decided to black mail Saya?

[ but then he's distracted as he hears a loud crash from inside a room and with a raised hand, he creeps forward, peering inside. ]

It looks a servant. Should we risk it?

[ assuming he's human, one strike to the back of the head should put him out. And it'd save the risk of peering into every room they happen to pass by for Saya. ]

Merlin and Karl

[ After they decided to split up and Arthur and the others went in search of Saya, Merlin left to look for Karl, saying he would be careful and all that. It was all thrown with a bit of half a moment's consideration, because what matters is that Karl hurt Charlie and who knows what he's done to Saya or plans on doing and Merlin is angry.

But when he does finally find Karl and mundane doesn't know what room shhh, he doesn't even know what to do, where to begin. He wants to hurt, but most of all he wants to make sure Karl never touches Charlie and Saya again. ]

[ He knows there's intruders about. He can smell them. Scurrying and rustling -- pathetic little cockroaches. They'll have to be squashed one by one. When Merlin rushes into the study, Karl breaks his gaze from the book he's skimming through. ]

[ His look is more idle curiosity than annoyance. ]

Hm?

[ He stops a decent distance away, eyes narrowed as he flexes his hands at his sides just to... do something with them. ]

Don't give me that, what else could this be about? You hurt Charlie!

[Karl tips back in his seat, regarding Merlin with raised eyebrows. He doesn't respond to the remark on Charlie. Drawls, insouciant and amused, ] You're trespassing in someone else's house. You do know that, don't you?

[ That is just--

He doesn't feel up to Karl's crap. His eyes flash gold, a reaction to the flare of anger that makes Karl's chair tip back, but only briefly. For now, that's all he does. ]

I'm not going to just let you get away with that.

[ Merlin's eyes flash, and Karl's own narrow, a red glow sparking. He feels his chair rattle, but that doesn't disconcert him. It broadens his smile to a sharp white edge -- all fangy and feline. ]

Ah~ So the puppy can bite.

Just what are you planning to do?

[ Well, fine. He'll bite, then. Eyelids flicking, he quickly raises his chin and actually sends the chair flying, crashing into the wall. Sometimes it's just so easy - when his blood is rushing in his ears and his skin is crawling with the fury - to aim to hurt someone.

He doesn't think it's very good, the rush of satisfaction at it and the way his magic responds. But it is effective. And right now, he really doesn't care. ]

[ It takes more than an unbalanced chair to harm a Chiropteran. Between one blink and the next -- wood clattering against stone -- Karl is on his feet. Lunging, in the next heartbeat, at Merlin, his grin bright and crazed. ]

[ He can rip throats in the space of heartbeats. If Merlin has other tricks up his sleeve, it'd be ever so much fun to see them~ ]
