Today is the day of the McCall-Lahey Reunion Tour.

It should feel weird that the day after he rekindles things with Allison temporarily, that he's planned on surprising Isaac. It's no secret that things have been strained between them what with Scott having to hold things back from everyone and generally feeling displaced. He's not used to so much being in flux and, plainly, different than he remembered. But, if there's one thing he's gotten good at, it's adapting.

If only becoming an alpha hadn't screwed with that so much.

He's told himself today isn't about pack, or strained friendships, or uncertainty. Today is a throwback day to the times of the McCall-Lahey union. At one time, Scott felt Isaac was like a brother. They hung out, they talked. He helped Isaac prank the alpha twins. Without knowing it, Isaac not only became his beta, but something deeper. He became a really good friend. It was different than it was with Stiles. Because, Stiles is like a blood brother but Isaac is like an adopted brother who he never wanted to see hurt. And if he did see him hurt, he wanted to do anything he could to make him feel better.

He felt like lately, he wasn't able to.

But, before he and Allison had made what might've been a mistake, she'd given him great advice.

Stop trying to be the alpha and start trying to be their friend that would do anything for them.

That was the gist, anyway. So, when he woke up the next morning, he resolved to do just that. He had to accept that things were how they were. Stiles and Derek were together and Stiles was keeping it from him. His feelings about how crazy that was aside, he knew Stiles was safe and in some ways happy. Allison and Isaac had a connection that he'd perhaps violated or ignored. He feels a little guilty about that and that also might be what fuels his idea this morning.

Maybe. Probably.

At about ten/ten-thirty, Scott slips inside Isaac's room and puts a hand on the covers ontop of him. He shakes him gently.

"Isaac. Wake up." Today's going to be fun. He pushes away the thought, It has to be and simply resolves to let everything else fall away. Today is the McCall-Lahey Reunion Tour.

[affectioning]

"You can't faint. We haven't actually done anything." But, he looks front as they walk. "Did you see me this weekend?"

[outofthefreezer]

"I totally could..." He smiles though while he walks before he becomes slightly perplexed. "Did I see you? Uh, no... I went pretty much underground when I heard about the curses flying around."

[affectioning]

"Everyone said I was..." He looks at Isaac. "Older." He waits for that to sink in. "Way, way older." He looks front again as they turn and approach the building he lives in. "But, I don't remember any of it."

[outofthefreezer]

"You were older? Dude can't believe I missed it, I kinda turned off my device..." Because to Isaac it seemed amusing.

[affectioning]

"I was older. Like, forty. My mom was so proud but she wouldn't tell me anything else. I asked if he said anything or told her anything. She just gave me this knowing look." He shrugs. "I can't believe I missed it. Think the universe would've exploded if I'd met myself?"

[outofthefreezer]

"It was probably you but uh, aged up, it wouldn't have worked like that. Maybe you just have amnesia from it?" Very confusing nonsense.

[affectioning]

"She said it wasn't just physically. I'd lived for forty years." It's crazy to him that even when the best things happen, he's not even here. He unlocks the door to the building and heads down the hall. "I thought maybe I'd talked to you. Maybe I should ask Stiles..."

[outofthefreezer]

"Weird..." Because that was literally what it was. "I'd have liked to meet forty year old you, coulda asked if he knew me still."

[affectioning]

"Really weird," he confirms reaching his apartment door and unlocking it. "Maybe he'll be back." He says, looking back at him before making his way inside. "We can put the stuff in my room." Without pausing, he leads him to it, the door already open. "So, this is my room." He drops his bag down.

[outofthefreezer]

He looks around Scott's room, suddenly surprised that he hasn't been in there yet. "Oh, your room... how exciting." No, his voice isn't dripping with sarcasm not at all. He throws his bag onto Scott's bed before turning to face him. "You needa grab anything before we go?"

[affectioning]

After a second, his hands come to Isaac's shoulder.

"This count?" After a second he lets go. "Come on," he adds again, heading back out to the front door. In search of burritos!

[outofthefreezer]

"Dude I'm not a thing you grab. You know that, right?" He follows him though because Scott is still a delightful little weirdo.

[affectioning]

"That's what you think," he replies, holding the front door open for Isaac. When they're both out again, he locks up. "We can grab burritos in the square."

[outofthefreezer]

"That's what I know. You need permission and a hefty fee to touch me." He tries to appear serious before cracking up and laughing, deliberately nudging Scott as he walked. "Sounds good to me."

[affectioning]

"How much do you cost, I get an allowance," he says with a smirk. That, and the City pays him to work on the clinic which is wonderful. How that happened, he doesn't know who even does paperwork but it's good. "Or, maybe two. We could grab a burrito for breakfast and get two others for lunch. Not breakfast..."

[outofthefreezer]

"More than your allowance, maybe there'll be a sale day some time. I'll let you know." He grins, while contemplating the burritos. "You hungry or something...?" Because that's a lot of burritos, and burritos were filling.

[affectioning]

"Please do," he replies, matter-of-factly.

"It's just breakfast now. It'll be lunch later." A shrug. Isaac, Scott is a teenage werewolf. He eats his mother out of house and home. "Just the breakfast burritos, then." No reason to argue. He heads the few blocks it take to get to the square and the cafe that has them.

[outofthefreezer]

"You're somewhere near the top of my list, its cool."

Isaac follows because he doesn't exactly go out for breakfast often, or leave his house, really Scott is doing a public service by giving him a day out. "Hey we can grab a whole bag full of burritos, just as long as you're gonna eat them. I just don't like wasting food."

[affectioning]

"Somewhere near?" he asks, faux offended.

"We're not going to waste food. We can stick to the two. Get lunch later on after the beach." He goes up to the window of the small place. There's a side window and an entrance inside. He orders two breakfast burritos and two waters. He doesn't ask Isaac if he wants anything else and he pays for everything because he's a gentleman and this isn't a date. He takes the bag and continues on.

"Beach time!"

[outofthefreezer]

"Yeah. Like kinda close?" Totally teasing you Scott. You can share the top of his list with Allison, its cool.

Wait this isn't a date, if Isaac knew he wouldn't have bothered getting a shower. He continues to follow Scott because the other boy clearly knew where he was going and he was walking with purpose. "Great. Its been a while." Because he could do with sunshine on that pale skin of his.

[affectioning]

"Who's at the top?" He regrets asking the question the second it leaves his mouth.

Yes, he so would've. He didn't want to werewolf smell your stank all night, gosh.

"Tell me about it," he replies, heading towards the beach. It's a big walking day. Hope Isaac's not too tired. "I think the last time I went to the beach..." He stops talking, remembering. His face turns a little more somber briefly. "It's been years." But, he shrugs it off. "Glad we're getting to it."

[outofthefreezer]

Isaac doesn't even stop, doesn't hesitate because he wasn't going to let this conversation become serious and he had the perfect get-out-of-jail-free card. "Stiles." He tries to keep his face serious, again, but the edges of his composure are cracking and really he just wanted to see Scott's expression.

Isaac guesses beaches could be bad for both of them then, he had faint memories of family outings to beaches. Not that it had happened in a while, all of the swimming his dad encouraged took place in the pool. "Me too, it'll be fun. We can build sand castles and chase waves..."

[affectioning]

He frowns, stops. His eyes go wide. And then he laughs. That was a good get out of jail free card.

"And go swimming," he says with a smile. "What else is there to do at the beach?"

[outofthefreezer]

That was what he was going for. Besides even if Scott was at the top of the list Isaac wouldn't tell him, he had enough of an ego already.

"Uh... sunbathe? Read a book? What adults do?"

[affectioning]

"Did you bring a book?" he asks. Because he brought a beach bag but it didn't have a book. It had a towel and sunscreen. And his wallet/keys because you can't keep those in swim trunks. "You could do with a tan." Hah!
