I'm Jim. [ Plonking himself down cross-legged, he puts the sauce between them and starts chomping through a burger. Julie gets a solemn look and a gracious nod. ] I know this is all very sudden, but I'm willing to be your ketchup buddy if push comes to shove and you need any. I'm that generous.

[grigio]

Sounds like a fair price for a spot on the sand. Especially since I forgot to put ketchup on one of my burgers. [She nods her agreement, actually happy that she came out for once.]

So where are you from?

[hischair]

San Francisco, if you know of it. [ It's a standard enough answer, considered more of a home than Iowa ever was. ] How about you?

[grigio]

I know of it. [It's exed where she's from. Non-existent. Over-run with Undead.]

What was formerly known as Seattle.

What happened to Seattle as you know it?

That's a tricky question because the way I'm about to describe it has been this way for quite a long time.

[She holds out her burger, top part of the bun lifted off.]

Sorry. That really sucks. [ Jim's reaction is one of surprise, though nothing profound. With so many possible dimensions out there and infinite variations of the reality he knows, he tends to roll with the punches.

Citi Stadium. It's a super-stadium that's been heavily fortified.

[Julie prides herself on being positive, but sometimes she has to wonder how long Citi Stadium will last.]

There are a couple other places like it. My dad's trying to get tunnels built between our stadiums and other fortifications.
