Lydia - Daytime - OTA
The social butterfly that she is, Lydia can be found enjoying the food, dancing if there's music, romping about in the surf, and of course, lazily sprawling on a towel to soak up the sun.
She has delicate skin of course, and may need help getting lotion applied in those hard to reach spots. Volunteers are welcome.

Naga - Daytime - OTA
While the shindig itself is pretty far from the Beach House where Korra and Naga live, it's not so far that Naga could miss the sweet sweet smell of meat. With Korra off doing some human thing, Naga is on her own. And since Naga is on her own....there's nobody to tell her she shouldn't crash the party.
Say hello to a gigantic polar bear dog, everyone. Also, pass her some meat. Bitches be hungry.]

There's a beach chair with her name on it so once the chess set is placed on the gift table, she grabs a plate and a couple of kabobs and slides into the seat. It's been a long time since she's been to the beach. She's actually itching to get into the water.]

ginny (late afternoon)
And her gift of a self-inking quill is neatly wrapped and been set on the table.
But yes. Beach adventures. Maybe she's climbing rocks or rolling through the waves or eating her sixth serving of barbecue. Come say hi (since she's going to peace out for moonrise and check on a friend, most likely).]

Afternoon - "Li" - Open
[ You'll find him settled under the spreading fronds of a palm tree -- with a brimming plate and a fruity drink with an umbrella. His surface aura radiates wide-eyed shyness paired with a laid-back reserve. There is a lot more to 'Li' than just that, true, but he wears that outward persona well. ]

SANDCASTLES | OPEN
[After depositing his gift and checking to see that nobody's burning anything at the barbecue, he has claimed a patch of sand (okay, several patches) and is building a series of sandcastles, each more elaborate than the last.]
[Join him, or marvel at them. Step on them at your peril.]

So, Scott arrives around one after spending the morning at the clinic. He's in a pair of red swim trunks and a tank. He leaves his gift for Chekhov (a video game, hoping he plays those) and he moves right to the barbecue.
When not there, he can also be found in the ocean or on a towel drying off. ]

she can be found near the barbecue, sunglasses resting atop her head, inspecting the items that are cooked, not, and in the process of. real food, especially terran -- human food, was so incredibly rare on voyager once their initial stock ran out and they began relying on replicators and what the delta quadrant had to offer. she's still somewhat in awe of its abundance. ]

but really, they haven't talked that much during the entire party, what with jim too busy running around the place generally having fun and bones is content with sitting on his ass the entire day because he absolutely cannot keep up with these kids. but whatever, they are pretty much co-dependent enough to want to spend some moments away from the other during down time, so they do. it's all very bromantic.
bones grabs two bottles of beer for the both of them as they walk barefoot on the sand, the waves hitting their feet occasionally. ]
Guess this is what a shore leave would have felt like.

But she's a small, skinny girl, and she hasn't seen burgers in ages so along with some chips, there are two burgers on her plate and she's seated herself in an empty lawn chair. A beer has been stuck in the sand and she's taking sips from it as she eats.
She's even dressed for the occasion, too. She manged to buy a red two piece and black board shorts. Her messenger bag is nearby and an inhaler peeks out from one of the pockets.
Other than that, she's the picture of serenity.]

ANY OF THE TIMES // ota
Chekov spends the day bouncing between friends, eating (and drinking) as much as is humanly possible without sustaining bodily harm, and trying not to act like this is basically the best party he's ever been to, which it is. (He might not publicize his own birthday, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't not-so-secretly want to be lavished with gifts and attention.) Other party goers can find him just about everywhere: building sandcastles (with less finesse than Spock), starting splash wars, tucking away barbeque like it's going out style, explaining his favorite theories about the City's physical structure with the aid of drawings in the sand, pretending not to watch his superiors flirt with each other like shameless teenagers. There's every chance that the navigator will be even louder and more candid than usual; although he typically doesn't drink enough to impair his judgment, this seems like a fine day to be judgment-impaired.
Later in the night when the bonfire's roaring and the stars are scattered across the sky, the particularly bold might catch Chekov brooding into a plastic cup full of vodka and contemplating the future, the inevitable leaving the City and all memories related to it behind, and the likelihood that he won't be around to celebrate another birthday after this one.
Brooding after drinking too much is a tradition, after all, and one can only neglect so many traditions in one day.]

[It's Lydia who sits down next to him on the log, a solo cup in her hand that is also filled with alcohol, though not vodka. Probably some kind of rum.]

:3 Nighttime!
[ Just because Hei doesn't gush about it, doesn't mean it's not recognized. ]
[ It's late at night, the bonfire crackling hot and orange, filling the air with a smoky broil. Hei finds Chekov gazing at some private Russian hell in his vodka cup, while people in the background chatter and laugh over things Hei doesn't really give a fuck about. He takes his cue to drop something in Pavel's lap; a blue box, unwrapped. Inside is a dreamcatcher that gives off a peculiar eerie glow. No card, no receipt. ]
It's supposed to burn red if your dreams are real-life warnings.
[ Spoken with a shrug, because Hei doesn't believe it. (He doesn't tell Pavel that his teammates in South America used to exchange dreamcatchers as tokens. He still has the feathery tassled one Amber gave him.) ]

Dusk
[She watches him from the side, eyes not quite at his level, trying to understand why birthdays are bothered with. When she was a child, sure, it made sense then. It no longer does. In fact, watching him makes her wonder even more when he's off to the side by himself, clearly not as cheerful as earlier.]
[Is it supposed to make people gloomy? It doesn't occur to her it could just be the alcohol.]

Night
[Even now, months later, she still turns her face up to the ethereal light and bathes in it, still entranced by it.]
[Though she distances herself from everyone, she wouldn't turn away company. She's just incapable of appreciating it, as much as she's incapable of actively not wanting it.]
