[...she'd say humans are dumb, but it's obvious this man isn't human. His species is clearly as ridiculous.

She doesn't comment further, but continues to watch him work with an eerie intensity. Stupid as it is, it's the most interesting thing going on right now.]

[Spock simply sees no need to prove or ask for more. He knows he's the best, or at least, amongst the best, and that is sufficient. Once there are no more questions he returns to his work, industrious and meticulous as always.]

[ ridiculous from pai's perspective, perhaps, but not to those who know him or his species well -- like this woman, who recognizes the girl spock's speaking with (though she likely won't recognize her, as kathryn interacted with her when she was cursed and giving out an old nickname only) and takes the opportunity to stroll up to them. ]

[Pai looks up at the older woman. Something about her voice sounds familiar, but the young Contractor can't place it. Not on so few words, at least.]

He's practicing sand architecture.

[From a slight distance, Yin observes Pai's interactions with these people, silently. But she doesn't bother to be very discreet about it, not caring if she's noticed, and not accustomed to many noticing. The only one that might is Pai, and Pai shouldn't be surprised, since Yin accompanied her to the party.]

[He offers a polite nod, not knowing what to say in public besides Captain Janeway and he can't do that in front of a total stranger, especially one he finds a bit weird.]
