Oh she likes you Lydia. There's a big smile at that and a nod.

"Yeah. He's pretty awesome."

Granted it took her a long time to make up her mind about committing to him at least in a verbal sense. She's got issues vocalizing emotions and commitment even when she doesn't have as many issues with feeling either.

"So how do you know Pavel?"

"We actually met at Ginny's birthday, and now we're kinda science bros." Lydia explains cheerfully. "We've got this whole thing about the exact nature of transdimensional versus extradimensional energy. How did you two meet?"

"Which I don't understand at all," Lucy says with a smile. She doesn't mind that she doesn't understand. "It's awfully sexy talk though. I mean, I'm lying here finding myself wanting to flirt with you because of the science talk."

"We started talking on the network. Eventually that led to a meeting and we just hit it off. He's sweet and kind and really adorable. Not to mention the genius thing which leads to the sexy thing. How could I not want to date him?"

[Lydia takes being told Lucy wants to flirt with her in stride. Who wouldn't want to flirt with her? She grins more broadly.]

Well, I've never actually emulated Katy Perry before, but who knows? He's all those things though, so yes. Totally feeling you on that. [Lydia gives her a lazy but earnest thumbs up.]

Really? You totally have to try the fake lesbian thing. Back home, my best friend and I haven't paid for a drink since we turned twenty-one.

[Lydia grins, but it's an inclusive thing.] Oh, I'm not twenty-one yet but I certainly don't pay for my drinks. That said, driving a guy nuts with the faux lesbian act? I've always wanted to try that!

[ Lucy grins. She wasn't paying for her drinks before she was twenty-one either, but she figured it was best to be 'legal' and all of that. ]

I would totally kiss you. You know if you ever wanted to try it out. It'd be fun. I'm already totally cradle robbing Pavel. I might as well cradle rob you. I can be whatever a cougar is before they're a cougar.

[Lydia laughs, highly amused.] C'mon, you're not that much older. I mean, don't you have to be at least ten years or so older to be called Mrs. Robinson?

[Pavel is doing his personal best to talk to absolutely everyone on the beach. Unfortunately, everyone on the beach will need to wait until after Lucy and Lydia, as one is his girlfriend, the other is very knowledgeable, and both of them are very beautiful. (He, however, looks a little less beautiful. With some careful styling, Chekov could look fine covered in sand; as it is, he looks more like a drenched puppy in god-awful swim trunks and with a peeling nose.)

He dashes up to them, all smiles and doing nothing to dissuade comparisons to puppies.]

Lucy, Lydia! You know each other?

Well, you've told me a lot about her, so when we met it practically felt like we did! Right, Lucy?

[Lydia's grin is positively full of conspiracy.]

Twenty-six later this month. Not quite Mrs. Robinson. Also, no Mrs. part but yeah. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to count the year or so I was dead or the several months I was home. I've just kind of been going by this place's calendar more than anything.

You were dead? Do I want to know that story, or do we need to be drunk for that?

Overall, I don't mind saying. I was murdered by an actual person and not the City or a curse. If you want details though, there's going to be alcohol.

[ She's not opposed to talking about it. It's been a little while and she's died once again due to a curse only to wake up alive the next day. ]
