LOG: ONGOING [The Ark]
When; Sept. 29, all day and night!
Rating; PG-13 at most?
Characters; OPEN
Summary; The biggest storm you've ever seen has just broken out across the City. Water everywhere. But don't worry, if you were at the construction site chances are you're on the boat so it's time to get cozy with your neighbors in your new home. Who's 'in charge' you wonder? Well [Bad username or site: tharheblows title= @ livejournal.com] is--as your arkmaster, captain, and host. He's steering that ship into safety for all of you and has only one thing to say to those who've chosen to stay behind in the City: SUCKAS
Log;
[ooc: Here is the log taking place on the ark for all participating characters! Feel free to log whatever you'd like while the ship is at sea weathering the storm. Label threads accordingly for open interaction, group interaction, what have you. And remember, the City is not being washed away (although the view from the ark would be unclear) and network devices will work the same as they always do. Further information on the ark curse can be found here. We hope you all have fun ♥

Which leaves Peeta and Rue to track down. And after a while of wandering the ship, Finnick finally spots him on deck and heads over. He's not carrying his trident with him--that's hidden away somewhere below decks at the moment--but he does have a knife secured inside his coat. Better to be prepared.]
Hey, there you are.

Finnick. I'm glad to see a familiar face.
[Truth be told he was about to go out and start looking for the Mockingjay]

Same here. Good to see you made it on okay. Can I sit down?
no subject
I was about to go find Katniss. I've been trying all day.

She's around here somewhere. This place is packed, but I'm pretty sure everyone made it on.
no subject
She better not have stayed behind looking for me.

[It's an attempt at making the situation a bit lighter, at least.]
Not that the pairs have to make a whole lot of sense, though. I came on with a doctor, myself.
no subject
So did I.
What did you have in common with a doctor?

I can't believe I lost sight of her.

I'd offer you something to eat but all I have in my apron is frosting.
no subject
You mean that apron doesn't come with a neverending supply of bread in its pockets? I'm kind of disappointed, Peeta.
no subject
We can find you something to eat once we find Katniss.

I'm fine. You'd know her better than I would, though, so what do you think? Do we start on deck or below?

She grips the square cut of wood hard enough that she is fortunate it's well sanded; there would surely be splinters otherwise, not that she hasn't had worse of course. Peeta surely made it on board. She saw him in the mess that was getting everyone on but couldn't locate him once the stupid thing had gone fully adrift. Finnick she did not spy but she somehow thinks he is too survivalist to not have fixed his way on.
Unless this is a trap.
This has only occurred to her now, but thinking on it makes her feel more and more inept by the second. Stupid. Stupid. Shouldn't she remember to think like this?
Months of City habitation might have softened her in ways she wasn't aware of until now, which is both disconcerting and somehow invasive.
Again she scowls before neutralizing her face and taking a deep breath, preparing to turn around, head back into the fray, and find Peeta. The last thing she needs is for him to mysteriously end up overboard. She doubts swimming lessons with Finnick have gone that well. ]

When he finally spots her, it's because he zeroes in on her scowl, and the relief lifts the burden of worry off his chest. Her face is almost funny as she turns, and he moves quickly enough, forgetting Finnick behind him]
Katniss!

She meets him though, not quite halfway. Part of her wants to reach out to him, but as has become habit lately more than before, part of her now holds back too; the latter wins out, an awkward half-intent in the air between them. ]
I saw you, before...during the boarding.
[ Naturally she spots Finnick not far behind the blond and arches a brow. ]
But I didn't see him. You weren't both---?
[ They seem an unlikely pair, despite both being Victors, both being of Panem, both...
Okay not so unlikely. But still, even Katniss will admit Finnick is hard to miss. They can't have boarded together or she would have seen the District 4 Victor when she spotted Peeta before. ]

I tried to find you. I got lost in the shuffle but...I found someone to board with, not Finnick, he found me later.
Are you here alone? With Haymitch? Rue? Gale?
no subject
Well, that's three of us, now. Hi, Katniss. Enjoying the ride?
