Xanadu is buzzing this afternoon with with food stands and booths with games to play and trinkets to sell or win. There are a couple of stages where people play instruments, sing, juggle, and otherwise entertain.

People donated money, time and materials to bring everything together. Some areas are very polished and professional while others have more of a homemade touch, but it blends together nicely and there is a little something for everyone. A little further from the main attractions there is space for relaxing or playing a game of frisbee or catch.

As the evening settles upon the City, paper lanterns light up an outdoor dance floor and a band plays a range of music from romantic to spirited. There are also tables set up for those who would prefer to star or people gaze.

[ There's a booth selling fish sticks, and Amy is currently eyeing it critically, considering whether to buy a portion, in honour of memories and first meetings. There's no custard, though, and it isn't as though she is the one who likes fish sticks with custard so much.

Come help her make a choice? ]

[ What is she looking at? She and this woman didn't exactly get along the first time they met over the network. Pepper pots. She had had an attitude.

Elena stops beside her, looking quizzically at the fish stick station. ]

... What is it?

[ To be fair, you didn't meet Amy at her best, what with one of her closest friends in the City having been killed by a Dalek just before.

Now, Amy looks up and shrugs, a lopsided grin on her face. ] Can't decide. Fishsticks, no fishsticks.

[ The grin is nice. Friendly. ]

... What are the pros and cons?

Sentimental value versus I don't really care for fish sticks, myself. And they don't have custard. Don't think I'll have any, really.

Custard? Fish sticks come with custard?

[ Ask and ye shall recieve.

Well, actually, Eleven just sort of spins on over to her, offering up a balloon with a blind sort of enthusiasm. ] It's a bee.

[ You're her favourite. Her absolute favourite, and she's just going to laugh. ] I can see that.

[ Excuse him, he's just tying it around her wrist. ] I'm just checking.

[ Holding it out obligingly, still grinning at him. Once he's done, she does a twirl, balloon cord held in one hand. ] So. You want fish sticks? I've been thinking whether to get some or not. They don't have custard.

I suppose half of the greatest combination ever might be all right by itself. [ Nudging her with his shoulder. ] Shall we?

We shall. [ Nudging right back, wrapping both her hands around one of this arms. ]

All right, Amelia Pond, fish fingers and sunshine, what do you say?

Lead the way.

[wearafeznow]

[ Moving over to the stand, smiling brightly at the vendor. ] Hello, good sir. Two portions of your finest fish fingers, please.

The very best only. [ Amy's grinning, still holding on to the Doctor. There's things to explore, now, even if it's only a festival. It's something, far better than nothing, and the Doctor's here with her. She's in a good mood. ]

I don't suppose you've any custard? [ The poor vendor shakes his head, very confused at the pair of them. ]

If you stare at it long enough, it might turn back into a fish.

[ Blonde has his hands in his pockets and a toothpick in his mouth, looking more or less unimpressed by the whole deal, but there's a note of amusement in his voice. ]

That'd solve my problem, at least.

[ Turning towards him with a shrug and a self-deprecating grin, a note of laughter at herself in her voice. ]

You could take it home, put it in a bowl.

[ There's a bit of a grin of his own, lips tilted up. ]

If it's fair food you're after, though, I'd try the funnel cakes.

Not really interested in having a fish for a pet. Pretty sure the cat'd eat it.

Funnel cakes, huh? Yeah, I might. I don't even like fish sticks that much.

Pour sugar on them. They're good. [ The funnel cakes, not the fish sticks. ]

The Doctor dragged one in, yeah.

You an expert on funnel cakes?

The Doctor? [ There's a bit of a raised eyebrow. Sorry Amy, he's not exactly too social, and therefore has no idea who any of the three Doctors are. ]

I could be.

My best friend. Well. The one of them that's my best friend. [ Having a hand around vaguely. ]

In that case, mister, you now have the great honour of educating me in the way of funnel cakes. C'mon.

She gets a chuckle, and he follows. Funnel cakes are, after all, delicious, even if Carla can do justice to food much better than he can. ]
