Spring Festival [OPEN TO ALL!]
When; Friday, April 6 2012, afternoon into night
Rating; Various! Warn if you need to on individual threads.
Characters; EVERYONE EVER!
Summary; Spring festival
Log;
Xanadu is buzzing this afternoon with with food stands and booths with games to play and trinkets to sell or win. There are a couple of stages where people play instruments, sing, juggle, and otherwise entertain.
People donated money, time and materials to bring everything together. Some areas are very polished and professional while others have more of a homemade touch, but it blends together nicely and there is a little something for everyone. A little further from the main attractions there is space for relaxing or playing a game of frisbee or catch.
As the evening settles upon the City, paper lanterns light up an outdoor dance floor and a band plays a range of music from romantic to spirited. There are also tables set up for those who would prefer to star or people gaze.
(OOC: As mentioned here please feel free to have your character/business set up a booth or stand or to be performing under the appropriate headings! They can be doing if for money, free, or charity. General Mingle | Booths: Games/Merchandise | Food Stands | Entertainment/Street Performers | Dance)

Hello, Jast. I have something to show you.
[ She takes her sketchbook then, turning it around so he'll get the best possible look at what she drew. ]

So clever.
[He looks at her from beneath the messy hair that's fallen across his face.]
Hmm, you... practice? Yes?
no subject
Thank you.
[ There's a nod. ]
I'm an architect, back home, but I like to draw things other than buildings for fun.

Are... y-your drawings, hm, created?
[He means does people build them.]

Do the festivities please you, clever one?

They do. [ To some extent. She likes them well enough, in as much as she lets herself like anything. That, however, is not something she can yet convey in his language, so she makes a vague gesture, shrugging a little. ] And you?

There is always time to celebrate in the sunlight, it pleases the seasons and their pleasure is mine.
[His hands go to the ground, palms spread as if he can listen to something beneath them, and of course he can.]
Music makes souls and minds open and fly. Together there is magic to be made.

[His language itself is built upon stories, and he is a priest given often to their telling.]
My sister would love to stomp and triumph with them, her dances are swift enough for the firebirds to trill in her glory.
[He doesn't allow the sentiment into his tone, but he does not much care for being separated from his order, eyes darting to the side to look at something else.]

[Paderau was a tough and irreverent momma bird, joyous and lively, a spitfire who exemplified her element and had learned many hard lessons in her almost four hundred years of life.]
But I am never alone.
[An entirely ritualized response, and one his heart is not completely behind. He looks up at Ivy with a smile anyway, implying her company is valued.]
