Summary; Bruce has ended up treating several of the Circus' victims and now they're cluttering up his lab and apartment. Open post for people to visit Luke, Serrure, and Asami or pester Bruce (and possibly Sif)

Bruce's lab and apartment hadn't been intended as a makeshift hospital ward, but there they were. He'd set Asami up in his bedroom and Luke and Serrure were still kept in separate rooms to keep their magnetism from dragging their wounded bodies back together.

He's immediately available by network, but at the moment he's in his kitchen brewing up some chamomile tea. More accurately the water's heating and he has his forehead pressed against the stainless steel door of his fridge.

[ooc: Just set up threads for the various temporary residents for easy visitation.]

[ Buuuut this is getting a little too close for comfort, so she turns her attention to the tray of food. ]

That looks nice! What's on there?

I wasn't sure what you would find palatable. [Or what her transformed body could handle.] There's oatmeal, fruit, toast, a hard-boiled egg, bacon, and over here, [he lifts a lid on a bowl of soup] pho.

What's pho?

[ Did he make all of this? Ffff. ]

Oxtail soup. I was just covering all the bases. [just the pho - leftovers - the rest is from the cafeteria]

[ It's sweet he thought to do that. ]

Can I try it now? I feel a little better.

Eat anything that looks good to you, but take it slow. [he hates to say it, but it's fair for her to know his concern.] We don't know how extensive the metamorphosis is.

[ The stress seeps back in as she takes the soup onto her lap, sipping delicately. The flavour knocks her for a moment, but then she tries another spoonful and relaxes. ]

Where did you learn to make this?

[the question earns a chuckle] A cookbook. There was a restaurant near Culver University that served pho, but I couldn't afford to eat there often. If there's one thing a degree in biochemistry can do, it's teach a guy how to follow a recipe like nobody's business.

[ That would be her first real smile today. ]

Would you show me how, sometime? I can barely make toast. The servants usually took care of all the meals back home.

Sure. Your roommates will appreciate it. Most people appreciate home-cooked food. It's time-consuming, but it isn't hard.

How hard can soup be, really? Think I'll make a good chef?

And the hard part is the tedious time spent skimming the fat off the soup hour after hour. Like I said, biochem is good preparation.

I can do anything you tell me.

[ Enjoying the feeling of being challenged, even if it's in a silly way. ]

We'll multitask - physics and cooking lessons. Your reward will be dinner.

[He's been trying to find ways to distract his patients all day. Apparently he's found the way to distract Asami with cooking.]

No, but if you fail with the cooking, dinner will be PB&Js

Peanut butter and jelly. It's a sandwich we usually associate with kids' food where I'm from.

It's also a good go-to for adults who've burned dinner.

So, you've definitely got soup and sandwiches under your belt. That's more than a lot of people.

If I reach you too much your roommates will want you to cook all the time. Can you handle that?

They really won't. [ Shrugging, she sets the soup aside, not wanting to overdo it. ] Mostly, I eat when I'm out during the day.

[ Cafes have kept Asami alive all this time, and no one was surprised. ]

[He puts the lid back on the soup and moves the tray out of her way.]

Learn for yourself then. I've done plenty of cooking for one.
