Log; Welcome Ball [INCOMPLETE until everyone gets sick of it <3 ]
Where; The Haunted Mansion
When; October 2; Midnight
Rating; This is a joint event for all guests. The "erotic activities" that the UPPER FLOOR guests will be participating in will come later.
Just keep that in mind, okay? Other than that, whatever's cool! ♥
Characters; EVERYONE who is attending the Carnival (BOTH FLOORS)
Summary; The opening event of the all-day carnival (Please read post for all details). This is before everyone splits up into their respective floors. Eat, drink, be merry and mingle!!
Note; (borrowing the idea Rika borrowed from Shahni, cause they're geniuses ♥) Please use the Subject Line when you want to speak to someone specifically or address the whole group.
Example: When wishing to address Kyouya, put "ATTN: Kyouya" in the subject heading.
Log;
As far as preparations went, the joint event between the Ouran Host Club Mad Hatter was nothing short of a success. The entire mansion was elaborately decorated, so much so one almost forgot that the place could send shivers down one's spine. As the guests entered, a cascade of rose petals fluttered down on them, reminiscent of the grandiose entrances into Music Room Three back at Ouran Academy. The rich scents of the food the waiters and waitresses served, paired with the strong but sweet liquors and cocktails went to the head while the strains of exotic asian instruments and the tinkling of bells filled the air seemed to aim at the heart.
Something special was bound to happen tonight...
While no one (save Tamaki) could probably see through his nonchalant façade, Kyouya, while very ambitious, wasn't used to being in the spotlight. Whether it was as the youngest of three sons or the "Shadow King" of the Host Club, the majority of his actions were "below the radar" (so to speak).
Speaking to the masses was something Tamaki was more inclined to do, but something Kyouya could easily adjust to. He patiently waited for silence so and addressed them all:
"Fondest greetings to each and every one of you. I am so glad that you could attend this celebration and enjoy this day with Mad Hatter and the Ouran Host Club.
This initial ball is to welcome you to the carnival and all the guests are encouraged to enjoy the refreshments and music. Later on we shall be separated for events on our respective floors, so for the time being please feel free to get to know eachother and mingle.
The Ouran Host Club's members are offering their services as dance partners, so if you are interested in a dance, please notify the host of your choice to be put on their dance card. As always a small fee is required to do so, however the money is going to the support of the Ouran Host Club and future events by our organization.
With that said, please enjoy the ball."

...Later on we shall be seperated for events on our respective floors...
Tatsumi felt his heart skip a bit there and he sighed, remembering the events earlier that day (http://community.livejournal.com/tampered/107110.html#cutid1). His thoughts returned to Tsuzuki whom he believed was still back at their apartment, with Hisoka... oblivious.
Tatsumi wanted to keep Tsuzuki that way.
Deep down, he wondered just what kind of surprises this celebration had for him and realized with surprise that he was, somewhat, looking forward to it.
He kept to a corner with a glass of wine and to as if to echo the dark thoughts and fears he entertained in his mind as he stood, the shadows seemed to darken menacingly around him.
to Tatsumi
It will be difficult to tell anyone from anyone, un...
Continuing his amble through the crowd, his gaze snagged on something. A movement against the wall, a soul in the half-darkness. By his stance, he did not look pleased.
Though I could be wrong..he may just stand menacingly. He may not actually be menacing. Still, in either case, it will be amusing to find out.
Turning his path, Deidara walked to the man within the shade, cocking his head to one side.
"Why do you stand alone in the shadows, un? Is this not your type of affair?"

"My, lovely party, I must say," he said, striding over to a snack table and surrepticiously devouring a few dozen treats.
Hey, this ain't bad! he thought, chewing thoughtfully.
He poured himself a glass of wine and went out among the others. He collected himself and leaned casually against a corner, taking in the ambience of the room.
[OOC: Anybody who wants to can come up to him. He's trying to be on his best behavior, honest!]

Memories fluttered across his mind and he shut them off, a smile lingering on his lips despite the mask. It was a welcomed device--hiding everything, even his eyes. After a moment, he let the smile slip, staying neutral, watching everyone.
[ooc: come play with Fai! He's looking for some mischief >D]
To Fai
And then she'd seen him, striding through the people as if he owned it.
A noble, of course--Wave would recognise one anywhere.
Perhaps this would be her fun for the night.
She moved around with purpose, simultaneously masking it with a stop here, a nod there, a pause to listen to the words another spoke... and then she reached him, a smirk playing over her lips behind the mask. "You seem rather comfortable in this setting," she noted silkily, momentarily surprised at the darker voice coming from her mask (what, was it enchanted? She could think of no other reason...). It wasn't hers... and it was more than a little disconcerting to hear.
[[;D here we go! XD~]]

Upon stepping into the mansion, the music that flooded the mansion reached her ears and filled her heart with joyous laughter. Excitedly, she was sent spinning across the floor, whirling to a halt infront of the vaguely familar man who was addressing them. Trying to figure out who hid behind the mask occupied her thoughts for a moment, but she soon grew bored of that and found herself drifting among the crowds, her stuffed rabbit companions swinging at her side.

It's a cats curiosity that drove her, wondering who everyone was. She could find out easily with her power, but that was cheating, after all, so she focused on small movements, more nervous habits than anything else...

"Spectacular.."
Ino blinked, bringing a gloved hand to the mouth of her mask. Her voice was much different--a richer, more elegant tone, befitting, Ino thought, of a queen or a daimyo's wife, not a flower-shop chuunin like herself. Giggling, she began to walk, almost as if floating, trapsing through the ballroom with a light heart. The weight upon her mind began to melt away within the glittering air. No longer did she remember the pains of the day following this occurance, the trial she would have to stand for, or the possible execution of her heart and soul. All that was in her mind was the here and now. A quixotic feeling oozed into her heart, and she allowed it to pass through to every point in her body, sending her into a slight euphoria. It was about the here and now, not about the coming soon.
It was all about the night.
((She is open for anything, so go for it. ♥♥♥))

"It's pretty." she announced finally, stopping right in front of its wearer.

He loved this intriguing atmosphere.
Making his way through the bodies, feet already dancing lightly, practice and practice still, Tsuzuki stopped, practically standing in the center of the room. It was fascinating, beautiful. He laughed, surprised at the sound of his voice altered through the mask and instantly did it again.
“Hello!” he called out, wondering what to do with himself but waving to others around him nonetheless.
[ooc: Feel free to knock him as you please. He wouldn't mind. Probably treat you to a dance~ ♥]

But, she remembered, the event was going to be held all day. She wouldn't be considered late -- sure, she'd miss out on a few things, but it wasn't like it'd be over the second she stepped inside! Right? Taking a few deep breaths, she smoothed out the folds in her dress, (http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j131/kallenwalker/polychro/gothic553.jpg) straightened the plumes on her mask (http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j131/kallenwalker/polychro/maskm5062.jpg) and headed on inside.
"Uwaaaa... it's so pretty!" she marveled, her eyes sparkling brightly from all the glitter and splendor. Nothing in the AT world could've compared to this -- the lights, the dancing, and the sounds! Her ears pricked at the music flowing freely, sparking a pleasant sensation throughout her body.
Canon-kun would love this, I bet, she wondered as she gingerly set foot on the floor to find her companions. At least one of them had to have shown up by this point.

Something felt wrong about this place, though she tried to believe in the petals, shoving her worries to the back of her mind. She bit her lip, a little nervously, happy that nobody could see her face.
Offering their services as dance partners, Kyouya was saying, and her ears perked up, remembering Tamaki's invitation. Her face fell, a little, when he added: As always a small fee is required to do so.
She remembered the small pouch she'd brought with her, stuffed with munny, and hoped it would be enough.
With that said, please enjoy the ball.
Naminé's lips were lit up by a small smile, hidden by her mask.
I hope I will.
to Namine
He approached her quietly and once he was close enough, bowed down in a gentlemanly way, extending a hand towards the child.
"Would you like to dance?" The child reminded him of himself for some reason; lost and alone, desperate to please and to be happy without making anyone sad.

Unlike most people it seems, the boy wasn't doing anything to hide who he was, besides wearing a different outfit and a mask, considering he had his trademark bandanna tied around his wrist. He even had his PET, holster and all, tied on his left arm! But it wasn't as if many people knew him anyways.
Smile on his face, he walked about, taking much more care than usual not to bump into anyone or anything. He wouldn't want to cause too trouble. Or so his digital companion would tell you.

Wow he muttered to himself, trying to take in the room. So many people... but where's Ino-chan? He adusted his full mask a bit, careful to keep his identity a secret against his better judgement. Hope I find her before the night's over.

To Kyoya
“Kyoya, that was well handled,” congratulated Belial. “That wasn’t hard, was it?” Hir grin was broad, full of white teeth framed by black lips. Sie had noticed his difficulties with the spotlight and was set to get the rid off his shyness eventually – to mold him into a complete leader. It would take time but this was the first step.
To Hatter
"I tried my best, but I still think I have a long way to go." he stated, politely refusing the words of praise the way all good Japanese men and women had been trained to do. However, to Kyouya, the trite words were more than a triviality said out of manners than sincerity; for the young vice president of the Host Club, the statement held truth. In addition, acceptance of praise had a bad habit of leading to a false sense of confidence, and Kyouya would much prefer the 'real thing.'
"How are you finding the ball so far?"
To Kyoya

Slowly, she maneuvered her way along the wall, stopping only once she found a spot a good distance from anyone else. Her voluminous dress (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/sjc_swank/mask4.jpg) was difficult to control, and her mask sat heavily across her forehead, but the rich red and black coloring helped her to blend into the shadows.
Yes, this is a fitting costume. She thought as her eyes trailed over the colorful masses before her. I wonder if I shall be able to spot Master Fai...
[ooc: feel free to pester her... someone... please!]

Smile no longer behind the mask, Fai caught sight of a ruby hiding in the shadows. Taking up the new prospect, he drifted over, wine glass in hand.
"Hello fair maiden~" with a flourish, he bowed, unnaturally deep and honey-ed voice spilling from the mask.

Looking behind him, he gestured for Kantarou, his honored escortee, and stopped before an endless table of exquisite dishes. Although his voice was distorted, it still beamed with excitement.
"Take your pick, Kan-chan!"
to Dark
Right now, Haruka was in another world - their world - not watching him underneath those masks.
"Eh~♥ We're going for food already, Dark-chan? How about we dance around or talk with people~" He grinned up to his purple-haired friend. "You ever worry about getting fat, Dark-chan? ♥"

A quick scan around the room told him that it would be physically impossible to find anyone he truly knew at the ball, and so he gave up at it on the spot. Tucking the gold-dipped rose he had fetched for his costume (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/little_pirate/Polychromatic/masq-nathaniel.jpg) into the sash around his waist, Nathaniel turned away from the dance floor with a regretful sigh and made his way over to the table upon which flutes of champagne and the like were offered. The young man selected a slender glass and went to a window a little bit away from the crowd, leaning against it. He carefully shook his head, so as to not dislodge the regrefully massive headress, shifting away the folds from his ears so that he could hear the music from the orchestra. A faint smile twitched the corner of his lips, though it was soon lost to the impassive facade that masked it; he had recognized the tune.
Sighing as he ran a white-gloved hand over his mask, the magician pulled away the bottom half of it to free his mouth, touching the glass to his lips and taking a delicate sip. So far, he thought dispassionately, My plans of being perfectly distracted from thinking have not succeeded.
to Nathaniel
Not that there was much she could see anyway. Obviously, she couldn't recognise anyone. And the person she might have looked for... I don't even know if he came or not. And then, as she watched all the people dancing and laughing and... shimmering in the soft light... He definitely didn't come, now I think about it.
Not recognising anyone, Kitty resorted to plan B. Which was alcohol. And, yes, there it was. The light reflected off a hundred glasses on the table so that the entire thing seemed to have an almost heavenly glow. Something like a beacon to her. And apparently, other people... yes, there was someone else there. With a particularly large headdress.
Well, at least we'll have alcohol in common. Skirting around the dance floor she walked over to the man (at least, she hoped he was a man), and picked up a glass of her own. She attempted a friendly smile behind her mask, but then realised he wouldn't be able to see a thing, and stopped bothering. "Already headed for the drink then?"

"FOOOODD!!!!!"
His cry was uttered at the top of his lungs as he gaped, mouth stretched to the floor. There was so much delicious food here and he couldn't even fathom how exotic some of the dishes were. For a good minute or so, his head darted back and forth from table to table. Oh, how easy it would be to just to start grabbing from everywhich way to fill his stomach! It would be so simple if only he could, but he reminded himself that this was a masquerade!
He had to hide his face, right? Right.
His mask (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a267/krispykira/luffy.gif) now positioned over his face, he strolled on in with his sights set on the buffet table. Meat, his delicious meat! He was coming for it!
