Summary: Dracula is not amused by the abrupt rerouting of his journey to England.
Log:

When the Demeter came to rest at Whitby, there was not a living soul above or below deck. Dracula had seen to that detail with ruthless efficiency. No one would know how he had come into England. No one would know that the men who had brought him had seen a monster. Perhaps, in another era, the living would have believed the fantastic tale woven in the ship's log, but the world was changing, and England's officials were inclined to approach mysteries in a pragmatic and scientific fashion. They were fools ... but their foolishness suited his endeavors.

Still, there was one more difficulty to overcome before he entered England. All members of the ship's crew had been accounted for in the log. No passengers had been listed. A survivor in the form of a man would be remarked upon and detained, but Dracula had no intention of coming ashore on two legs. Unhindered by the violence of the ship's final drive to shore, he moved above deck. He had taken the form of a large, black wolf. In the chaos of the storm, he would easily be mistaken for a dumb brute if he was seen.

The Demeter shuddered as she ran aground. Dracula leapt from the bow. His claws found purchase in the slick sand, but he skidded to a halt not two strides onto the beach and spun around.

There was no wrecked ship in his wake. The sea was calm, free of fog and gale and frothing waves. Dracula ground his teeth together in consternation as he slowly swung about. Everything was different. There was no village, no cliff, no churchyard. It was as though, in the instant he had left the deck of the Demeter, the world he had meant to enter had been swept away and replaced by another.

The Captain calmly reached forward with his other arm and tried to pull Dracula off.

When you have super strength and don't care if the flesh comes with it, you can afford to be blase about these things.

[identity profile] wolfsmercy.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
The Captain popped his neck.

There. Now they were done playing these games.

Now to retroactively end it. He stood back and motioned for Dracula to make his move.

[identity profile] hercount.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
The sound of a hammer being pulled back broke the silence.

Coat flaring out, the vampire's red eyes glowed as the gun trained down on Captain. "Dracula. Meet Johnathan Harker. The new version."

[identity profile] wolfsmercy.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
The Captain's eyes widened.

And then, the primal took over him. Kill the first Dracula, the other will die. It stood to reason.

And the first Dracula didn't have the years of experimentation. Nor did he know how to deal with a Harker who had spend centuries training to kill him.

His bones started to crack and shift, his face elongating, fur sprouting, teeth sharpening.

From behind Alucard, Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing appeared, dressed in her knight uniform and holding a gun. Her sword was sheathed firmly in her belt.

When Alucard told her about the new arrival, she had insisted to keep an eye on him and be taken with him.

"Count," she greeted, aiming to the wolf in case he tried anything. The vampire would be no doubt shocked and violent. "Come to me. Slowly. We will escort you to safety."

[identity profile] warconductor.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
"CAPTAIN!" an athoritative voice broke through the air. "ACHTUNG!"

The Major stood in the shadow of an alley. Above him, a shadowy figure in a suit and fedora watched closely.

[identity profile] wolfsmercy.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
The Captain's eyes widened.

Not so much at Integra's appearance. She was irrelevant. She couldn't hurt him.

But the Major... something about the man's voice demanded some sense of respect. Even if you thought he was a lunatic.

He stood up, his face reforming itself.

[identity profile] tinyvampiregod.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
"WOOF WOOF WOOF," the smallish vampire called, stepping out of the shadows and smirking towards the Captain. A streetlight nearby flickered on, revealing the coffin, smoking beneath it in shadows.

[identity profile] warconductor.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Stand down," the Major said, simply. "It won't work. I know what you're thinking, Captain. And it won't work. Not that way. And certainly not in this place. Let it go for now. Our strength is in our patience, we will not strike until the instruments are ready, until the orchestra is tuned. Stand down and think of her."

[identity profile] warconductor.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
"It is a long and difficult story," the Major responded. "And one only partially explained in your book. But perhaps names would help. I am the Major. The werewolf is the Captain, although you knew him by another name, and left him in the castle for your brides. The one in the hat is Alucard, as is the one in the red coat. They are your future. And the fraulein is Integra Hellsing. Integra van Helsing, in the dutch."

[identity profile] steeldame.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
As soon Major arrived, Integral switched from aiming to Dracula to aim at the disgusting man. She wanted to kill him so badly, her blood boiled in rage, the sacrifice of many.

But, she had to protect Dracula. She didn't know which version this was and would not risk him.

"Call your beast off. For every gash he does, I'll fire a bullet into you. And you-" she addressed Dracula without looking at him. "Will come with us. We are trying to protect you."

[identity profile] wolfsmercy.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Protect him?

They were trying to protect this monster?

He was starting to suspect personal power was indeed Van Helsing's motive.

He started to move towards his mauser.

A card whistled through the air and sliced the Captain's glove slightly.

"He said down, Captain," Tublicain said.

The Captain grimaced and lowered his hand.

[identity profile] hercount.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
The vampire sneered, "The more you hang on to this, the less you can devote yourself to Mina. Let go of the past, Harker. You have the future here."

Then fired, aiming purposefully away from the werewolf: a very rare warning shot.

[identity profile] tinyvampiregod.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Bo~oring. ." The smaller vampire replied. "Go with Sir Hellsing. Or I'll punish you!" And assumed a shoujou manga magical girl pose.

[identity profile] steeldame.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
"But you do," Integral pointed out, sneering. How stupid would he be to dismiss help so easily? "You are lost, Count. This isn't England. If you don't come with us, we will force you. I am not putting Alucard's existence at stake for your mere whim."

[identity profile] warconductor.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Very well," the Major said. "Let us start with a certainity. Your name is Count Vlad Dracula. And you left your home in Romania to come to England. But you did not find yourself there, did you?"

[[Sorry if I'm talking so much. I'm stuck in a boring class and the Major's wordy by nature. If I'm monopolizing the conversation, I'm totally sorry, and just tell me so.]]

[identity profile] warconductor.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Monsters know monsters," the Major replied. "Terrifying you may be, but more terrifying you will become. Death is not on my list of fears. Go with the girl and her pets if you wish. It is, quite frankly, no concern of mine. Nor of the Captain's. But you should probably be aware that he will want his revenge. And he might yet have it."

He smiled, his glasses reflecting the light.

"I have that feeling."

[identity profile] tinyvampiregod.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
The coffin tapped Dracula on the shoulder and threw a right hook as the vampire turned.

Girlycard giggled, "You really should listen to me. Feel it. I'm you. So is big red."

[identity profile] hercount.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Seek you more? Or an explanation. Of this place. Of Harker," The vampire paused dramatically, "And of Mina."
