Summary; Bruce has ended up treating several of the Circus' victims and now they're cluttering up his lab and apartment. Open post for people to visit Luke, Serrure, and Asami or pester Bruce (and possibly Sif)

Bruce's lab and apartment hadn't been intended as a makeshift hospital ward, but there they were. He'd set Asami up in his bedroom and Luke and Serrure were still kept in separate rooms to keep their magnetism from dragging their wounded bodies back together.

He's immediately available by network, but at the moment he's in his kitchen brewing up some chamomile tea. More accurately the water's heating and he has his forehead pressed against the stainless steel door of his fridge.

Not many, I'd imagine. That was kind of her.

[He gives her hand a last pat and straightens.]

Yeah, it was. I'd say she needs taking care of too, but I don't think she'd appreciate that.

Maybe do something nice for her. [ Hmmm. ] She's a lot like Korra, so ... give her a chance to use her abilities and enjoy it. That's what I'd try and arrange. Feeling appreciated has got to be a huge compliment to someone of her prowess.

I cooked her breakfast and we're having a movie night if things ever stop being so horrible. [wait, how did that sound?] I cooked her breakfast after she brought me coffee.

[ Smiling mildly, she arches a brow. ]

Sounds like you have everything sorted.

[Oh don't even.]

If you're getting that same gleam your eye that Luke gets when a woman comes up, don't.

[ Oho, Luke is perceptive. ]

No, you shouldn't. This is the last place I'd want to start a relationship of any kind even if I didn't have my condition.

That and the curses and my own condition. It's been hard enough helping my friends through this circus nightmare. If I let myself... No, it's the worst idea.

What if you didn't have any choice? [ That sounds. Wow, no, let her rephrase. ] Not everyone does when it comes to that sort of thing, it comes on so suddenly.

[ Buuuut this is getting a little too close for comfort, so she turns her attention to the tray of food. ]

That looks nice! What's on there?

[Change of subject? Yes please.]

I wasn't sure what you would find palatable. [Or what her transformed body could handle.] There's oatmeal, fruit, toast, a hard-boiled egg, bacon, and over here, [he lifts a lid on a bowl of soup] pho.

What's pho?

[ Did he make all of this? Ffff. ]

Oxtail soup. I was just covering all the bases. [just the pho - leftovers - the rest is from the cafeteria]

[ It's sweet he thought to do that. ]

Can I try it now? I feel a little better.

Eat anything that looks good to you, but take it slow. [he hates to say it, but it's fair for her to know his concern.] We don't know how extensive the metamorphosis is.

[ The stress seeps back in as she takes the soup onto her lap, sipping delicately. The flavour knocks her for a moment, but then she tries another spoonful and relaxes. ]

Where did you learn to make this?

[the question earns a chuckle] A cookbook. There was a restaurant near Culver University that served pho, but I couldn't afford to eat there often. If there's one thing a degree in biochemistry can do, it's teach a guy how to follow a recipe like nobody's business.

[ That would be her first real smile today. ]

Would you show me how, sometime? I can barely make toast. The servants usually took care of all the meals back home.

Sure. Your roommates will appreciate it. Most people appreciate home-cooked food. It's time-consuming, but it isn't hard.

How hard can soup be, really? Think I'll make a good chef?

And the hard part is the tedious time spent skimming the fat off the soup hour after hour. Like I said, biochem is good preparation.
