tampered | (no subject)

"If you want. I mean you don't have to," Her eyes stare at the ceiling.

He thinks for a moment and decides against it. He lays back down and stares at the spot on the ceiling she is.

"What are you thinking?" he asks.

"What's gonna happen once we're out of here," she says softly. And by here she means City. Would she really be able to go with him?

He was really hoping she wouldn't ask that question. He hadn't thought much about it.

"Wellllll, we'll have to get out of here to find that out."

"I suppose so," she replies not sure really. There's just so many unknowns. What if she forgets all this? She finds herself clinging to him.

"Don't worry about it."

He tries to be reassuring, but really he's not sure either. He offers the bottle again.

"Okay," She's not about to argue and goes for the bottle again.

Hopefully that'll take her mind off of it. He really should start putting some thought into it himself. For now, he won't.

"Maybe we should get some tea or cake or something."

"Cake would be nice," she decides taking a swig of the bottle before passing it over to him. She really doesn't want to think.

He grabs the phone and makes the order, along with some tea.

"If you want, you can answer it this time."

He doesn't want a repeat of earlier.

"I will then," she assures and goes back to trying to relax.

He nods and lays back, trying not to think of her question which still nags at the back of his mind.

"Hope the tea's good here."

"If the food's anything to go by then I reckon it ought to be good," she says before there's a knock at the door. Rose springs up before wrapping the sheet around her body and walking over the answer the door.

It reveals the same lady as before and as she gives Rose the cake, she tries to look over her shoulder.

"No, everything's fine. Thank you."

And with that she shoos her out and closes the door before turning over to him.

"People, yeah?"

"Everything alright?" he asks.

Something in the tone of Rose's voice tells him she's slightly annoyed. He wonders if it's the same maid who delivered.

She sets the tray down on the table beside him before hopping back into bed. The expression on her face just reads annoyed.

"Why wouldn't it be?" she gives him a sarcastic smile.

He decides to drop it. Definitely the same then. He pours them both some tea, hoping it'll smooth things out.

"There we are."

She picks up the cup and takes a sip.

"Pretty good." But she's still not smiling. At least not really.

He takes a sip and agrees. It is pretty good. He goes for the cake and grabs a slice. He picks some icing with his finger and traces it along her cheek.

She feels that and gives him a look.

"Oi!"

He smirks and licks it off her face.

"Better?"

She just laughs.

"A bit. Enjoying yourself?"

He nods and takes a bit of cake. It's pretty good.

"Ohhhhh, you should try this."

She reaches over and takes the bit of cake to try it. She finds it's really good.

"Blimey. Pretty good." she grins at him.

"Yeah, it is."

He takes another bite, and congratulates himself for how good everything's turned out.

Rose can't help but maintain her grin. All this just seems a bit dreamish although it is far from anything her mind can conjure up.
